Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives

BFP au Naturale

What is "BFP au Naturale" you ask? It's the Big Fat Positive pregnancy test result you get without taking prescription drugs or going down the IVF route. Here's where you'll find the success stories of women who've tried to conceive naturally, and succeeded. Of course, pregnancies achieved using natural fertility supplements, like FertilAid or FertileCM, are eligible for inclusion in BFP au Naturale. To send us your symptoms for inclusion here, just fill out this contact form.

VERY faint positive 9 dpo and 1st cycle ttc our second!

Posting this here in hopes my tracking can help someone else!

Little background on me. I am 32 and DH is 37. We had a blighted ovum leading to a DNC in April 2012 which I believe was caused by getting pregnant my first cycle off of the BCP. Suffered fertility concerns (long, irregular cycles. possible PCOS but never confirmed) until finally getting pregnant in June 2013. My daughter was born March 2014.

Since having my daughter my health has become a priority. I have a 99% gluten free diet, workout 20-30 minutes nearly everyday and do my best to cook and eat whole, natural foods at home. I do not eat any fast food and very little, if at all, processed food. When my husband and I decided we wanted to go for number two in January 2017, we were already using natural family planning for preventing pregnancy (no BD during ovulation/fertility window).

This cycle here was our very first trying to conceive. Since I was already monitoring my cycle signs very closely to prevent pregnancy, getting the timing right for ovulation seemed to work easily for us. We only needed to BD once :)

I used OPKs in the past for prevention but did not use them this cycle. Did not temp but used CM & CP to know when to BD (I check both only once in the morning), as well as the GLOW app to track symptoms. My cycles are on the longer side but consistant now. Also some TMI with bowel movements below!

01/21/17 CD 16: Second day of EWCM for me. I usually have it for 4 days. Let Hubby know its time. We BD once that day at 1p.
01/22/17 CD 17: O Day! Like normal I feel O Pain on the left side. Lots of EWCM today. I wanted to BD but Hubby had an unusually long day and was too tired. Whole pelvis is achy and cervix is high and open.

1 DPO - EWCM present but much less. Signs of ovulation are weaker than yesterday. Pelvis not as sore. Worried that maybe I was going to O today and we may have missed the egg (Hubby's sperm only seem to live 72 hours). Husband is out of town so no BD today. Cervix is still high.
2 DPO - CM turns sticky and high cervix. Nothing different than normal after O symptoms.
3 DPO - 7 DPO - Creamy CM and high cervix. Usually around 4 DPO my creamy turns to nothing, this time it kept going. Diarrhea and acne appear around 5 DPO. Acne is common but not this early. I have had loose bowels from digestive issues before but this feels like a purging. I eat and everything comes out. 7 DPO experience slight decrease in creamy CM and a shift to scant EWCM.

8 DPO - Literally the first hours of 8 DPO. At 1:30a I was jolted awake from a deep sleep. I have had PMS insomnia in the past but this was different. I woke up with so much energy, just like I had slept 8 hours. I tossed and turned for the next four hours before finally falling asleep at 5:30a. I believe this is when implantation happened and the rush of hormones awoke me (thanks Estrogen!). Later this morning my CM turns back to creamy.

01/31/17 9 DPO - Decided to test with FMU with ClinicalGuard test from Amazon after what I felt the early morning of 8 DPO. VERY very faint positive. So faint Hubby said maybe our eyes are playing tricks on us. I know its positive though, just early. Any line is a line and I had NEVER seen a hint of a line when I used this test in past cycles.
10 DPO - Faint Positive on FRER. You can see this on the top test in the photo. Its faint but its there! So over the moon. Symptoms are pretty calm. Abundance of CM which is a mix of creamy and EWCM. Normal PMS symptoms, just milder.
02/03/17 12 DPO - Strong BFP on FRER with FMU. Wanted a stronger test line so took this one for pictures!

I am currently 4 weeks 5 days pregnant or 19 DPO. My diarrhea disappeared around 13-14 DPO. My cervix dropped at 14 DPO and has since moved around everywhere, however it is very very tightly shut. Currently CM is a mix of creamy, white, stringy and watery. But there is plenty. For me, I think lack of strong symptoms were my first sign of pregnancy. Usually PMS hits early, this time I felt like I was in a weird limbo where my body was just there, haha. I do believe now that diarrhea was a symptom for me, however at the time I could have seen it as indigestion.

If you're having issues with fertility, look at your diet first. Going gluten free and adding daily exercise to my schedule completely changed my fertility, my cycle and my relationship with it :) good luck everyone!

BFP after chemical 3 months ago

Well I'm happy to say that it has finally happened and I got a beautiful bfp. I have to say that this month I really didn't stress about my symptoms. I will say that as it got closer to when AF was due that I got a huge pimple on my chin, canker sores in my mouth, nosebleeds, heartburn (huge sign for me), gas and headaches. Every other month when I swore I was pregnant my boobs were so tender and this month they have yet to get tender. They are heavy but not tender.

Good luck and baby dust to you all!

39 next month and first ever BFP!

My husband and I got married in March 2015. I was 37 and he was 42. We were both morbidly obese @ 275#(me) and 445#(him). I was also suffering from severe fibromyalgia.
We started trying immediately to get pregnant but I wasn't overly hopeful because I felt so unhealthy. We tried eating "healthy" and lost some weight but we were hungry all the time. After 6 months we went to a fertility doctor. He put me on low dose thyroid medication and my husband on Clomid for low testosterone. My AMH and hormones were really good for my age. The doctor also prescribed fertility meds for me but I've only done two rounds of Clomid (one for the hormone test and one round a few months ago). My husband's sperm count increased but the quality decreased to the point that they were recommending IVF with ICSI.
In June 2016 we had gained some weight back and decided to try a ketogenic diet. I got down to 235# and leveled off but it also cured my fibromyalgia. My husband got down to 385#.
I had accepted around age 34 that I would never get married or have children so I have just been happy to have a wonderful man in my life, but it made me sad because he wanted a baby so badly. A few months ago we had a conversation and he was really wanting to go all out and do IVF. I felt the financial strain would be too much and wanted to trust in God. Shortly after that conversation they had a video in church about infertility/adoption and it was pretty emotional. We were invited to the front for prayer and I think it gave him some peace to know that God really is in control. Now just a few weeks later and we have our first ever BFP! I didn't test until 18-19 DPO because I fasted quite a bit this cycle (for the first time ever, also got my weight under 230#) and thought maybe it messed up my cycle. But I'm usually super regular so I finally bought a test and tested at 3 AM because I couldn't wait until morning! I pray that God will protect this little one. All the glory goes to Him!
I have not used ovulation tests for the last few months because I've always felt when I am ovulating and decided to trust my body and God. I had ovulation pain on one side January 7 (we BD'd that night) and the other side January 8 (usually I only have it on one side). I got up and put my pajamas on right after so it definitely isn't necessary to lay there lol. My husband usually takes at least 3-4 days to "recharge" so we really only get one chance per month.
I've definitely had increased appetite and have been taking naps (usually I can't nap even if exhausted). The last few days my chest has hurt a bit more than usual but not enough that I thought it was a sign. I have had minor cramping and kept thinking I was going to start my period any minute. Also my cat has been laying with me a lot this last week and she normally only lays with my husband. That was really unusual!

BFP after 11months TTC! 35yo It can happen!

Like so many others, this website has been a great source of support and comfort through the many months of TTC. My husband and I are "older" but we're both distance runners and incredibly healthy, so we just assumed it would happen instantly. When it did not, naturally I went through all of the confusion, self-doubt and disappointment so many of you understand. My advice - don't relax. Do all the things that make you feel better for as long as you need, at some point you will get tired and not give up but just let go a bit. That is what happened to me last month. To every woman in her mid 30s, it can and does happen, no matter what you read online! Always have hope. Oh and also - because I was googling it yesterday - I 100% thought AF was on her way yesterday. I had these intense dull achey cramps and thought that was it. Today I woke up and temps were still high and FF said it was test day, so I POAS expecting the usual emotional rollercoaster when you see that stark white to my amazement a big beautiful no questioning BFP was staring back at me!!! I feel so lucky, excited and grateful that I had the TWW stories to read during this last year.

My symptoms by DPO:

DPO 1-6 - Nothing. The only thing I changed was using CB Monitor in addition to OPK cheapies. This was nice because it made it crystal clear my two most fertile days, highly recommend. I did not temp every day just periodically to check in, after several cycles you learn the general pattern of your temps.

Day 7-15 - I had intermittent breast soreness. For those who are searching for this, yes my breast soreness would come and go, some days bad, then would ease off, so don't panic if that happens. The frustrating thing is, that I had breast soreness many times on BFN cycles from 7dpos till AF, so it's not a great indicator for me. I also had varying levels of cramping from 8dpo and definitely bouts of constipation. I also had extreme fatigue the last two days. I kept falling asleep in the middle of the day, not usual for me. That was it! I didn't have any moment where I knew. Like I said, I really thought AF was coming.

Good luck and best wishes to all of you!!!

BFP after 2 years

I finally get to share my story!!!! I'm 36 and my husband is 37. We've been trying for just over two years. My husband had just made an appointment at a fertility clinic, which isn't until next week (he's still going just in case we need answers later) and all my test came back good.

We stopped using preseed a year ago.

I quit temping and stopped using opks months ago.

Sometimes my cycles are wonky and last 40+ days, but after trying for so long I figured out all the signs my body gave me at ovulation and AF always came 15 days after the signs. Strangely enough, this cycle I ovulated on cd 15, that is really good for me.

6 dpo-9 dpo: no matter where I was, I could not cool off! It was right at Christmas and I was so sweaty my hair looked wet, but I felt fine other than that.

7 dpo- 12 dpo: my boobs were sore but that happens from cycle to cycle, so I tried not to read into it. BUT usually they become sore immediately after ovulation. CM normal for AF coming

10 dpo: CM dried up and BFN

11 dpo: big weird glob of CM. Almost like egg whites but so much more at once then I've ever seen! FRER with FMU swore I could see super faint line, but I've tricked myself before

12 dpo: Faint line on FRER but darker then yesterday's. I went to Walmart and bought another pack of FRER and some Walmart 88 cent ones. After a 2 hour hold I used one of each and got what I felt safe enough to call a BFP

It was hard for my husband or myself to believe after so many starch white, negative test. So, I kept testing with a digital and got a "PREGNANT" finally today at 15 dpo. Now it feels more realistic and we are over the moon!

TTC 8 YEARS - 3 separate BPFs AFTER PROLACTIN LOWERED!!!

Hi all and all my prayers for those TTC!!!

I JUST HOPE MY STORY GIVES AT LEAST ONE PERSON SOME HOPE!!

Well it's safe to say I scoured these sites for many long long years leading up to the conception of my miscarriage, my beautiful daughter and now this little one.

My ex husband and I tried for 5 years (since we were 19 to 24 years of age). We found out he had very low sperm count under 1mill/mL and also morphology and motility problems. I was all good normal hormone levels, 28 days regular cycles etc. to think I couldn't have children was so heartbreaking for me as I had wanted to become a mother since a little girl. But I would stick with him through thick and thin as promised when we got married. We decided to try IVF just the once as that all we could afford at such a young age - but it failed miserably. After they collected 9 eggs, 7 were good, 5 fertilised .. after 3 days they all started dying. They still transferred the best one but got AF 2 days later! Absolutely shattered!!!! Well that was when I was about 23/24 Y.O (I am 29 now). We continued trying naturally and waited on the public system for IVF. That meant we would get 3 rounds covered by government. Well after almost 2 years of being on that waiting list FINALLY our appointment letter came in the mail! September 2012 was our appoint so excited!!! But hang on, next thing I know the hubby tells me he's no longer happy with me and he leaves, after 8 years together and 5 years of marriage!!!! HES NOT HAPPY?!? WHAT THE ACTUAL FECK!!! (Found out later he was screwing someone else behind my back but that's a completely different story on its own). So I had to cancel the appointment I had been waiting so so patiently for! Very traumatic time...

So that's part 1. First 5 years TTC.

When I had come to terms with being divorces and childless at the age of 24 after everything I had been through realised I was better off with him, that's when I found my next partner. He had no fertility problems and we tried for a Year and a half! nothing! Ended up breaking up with him for reasons I won't go into but was left thinking IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME?? (Fertility wise)

Along come shortly after, the love of my life (DF). DF definitely had no fertility problems as he had gotten his ex pregnant twice, she aborted both. (Sorry to have to say that). So after a year of us trying I literally thought 'stuff it I'm going to the doctor! I MUST have something wrong with me!' The GP asked me if I had ever had 'milk' coming out of my breasts and weirdly enough I had for the past 3 years due to a medication I got out on after my ex husband leaving. He said 'there's your problem!' And ordered blood tests to see how high my prolactin levels were.

WELL...

I got a call from the doctors off 4 days later saying 'please come in the doctor needs to discuss your results with you'. So I went in absolutely CRAVING a MACCAS CHEESEBURGER WITH PICKLES and I usually HATE pickles!! Lol!!! Thought nothing of it and yep you guessed it, doctor tells me he also checked for HCG AND ITS AT 11!!!! OMG!!! I'm most likely pregnant!! Yes I was pregnant confirmed days later with more bt. So my prolactin level was still sort of high but I tell you what, I started taking VITEX that month and apparently that helps with prolactin levels! I decided to take vitex even before first seeing the doctor... But when I told him he was not too happy. I didn't understand why but now I do. That pregnancy ended in m/c at 10 weeks and no hb was ever detected. So I went off vitex. Had d/c July 2015. Heartbroken and beyond. But still happy I knew I *could* get pregnant.

About 4 months later I ended up conceiving again, which resulted in my beautiful DD. she was born August 2016.

And now I'm pregnant again :D (she's 4 months old).

I honestly believe Vitex helped as the doctor never ended up treating the high prolactin. The milk went away after one month of using it. Problem is I should have stopped taking once I got my first BFP. But I'm still over the moon with my beautiful amazing incredibly beautiful daughter who I've had to the most amazing man I've ever met and now we're expecting no2!!!!

Symptom - wise (and I'm being honest here after 8 years I learned how to OBSESS) but the only things I ever noticed was that one craving for cheeseburgers with pickles with the first pregnancy, and period pains 4-5 days leading up to when my period was due with all 3 pregnancies when if I wasn't pregnant the period pains only started once I got AF.

Thanks you Jesus for these beautiful miracles! I know YOU ARE THE REASON BEHIND ALL THIS!!! Amen and baby dust to all TTC xxxx

BFP after 4 years - 0.4 AMH and 0% morphology

I had been a stalker for a long time and finally time has come to write about my story as this may help someone with Hope . We got married in 2009 and got our first kid in 2010 by god's grace. For the second we started trying in 2012. Months passed but all BFN (big fat negative (pregnancy test)) and regular AF.Infact we tried all suggestion google gave, preseed, raising leg, alternate days, etc etc. Decided to finally visit doctor in Feb 2016 ( know it is too late ) ,Doctor did several checks and said AMH is 0.4 and DH (dear husband) Morphology is 0% only way is to recommend to fertility. We visited fertility treatment in Mar 2016.They checked my tubes,HSG, etc etc ( no issues found ) sighting AMH and Morph said IVF (in vitro fertilization) with ICSI is the only option. Already spent 3K, we both were not prepared for treatment. Finally informed my mom. She requested us both to follow couple of things as she learned about Indian Ayurveda from someone.

1) Dried winter cherry roots powdered & mixed with honey every night - both

2) Dried moringa flower(buds) powdered & mixed with milk every night - DH.

Along with this DH (dear husband) went for regular exercise and had doctors multivitamins everyday.

We followed it religiously and something got changed in last 8 months. THis cycle No AF (Aunt Flo - menstruation/period) even after 3 days it was due, checked today morning and after 4 years of trying BFP!!!!!

We BD'ed 10,12,14,15,16 just before going to sleep.

Thank you God. Prayers for all TTCers.

OMG I literally can't believe it!!! Shaking and can't concentrate!

Did a first response today just because I couldn't wait a couple more days for my period. Within a few seconds the second line showed up! (11dpo) Albeit faint - but certainly not a squinter! Pinching myself. Gave Hubby an early Christmas present all wrapped up with the test inside and a baby grow saying ' I love my Daddy- he's funny!' (I'd bought it a few months ago waiting to be able to give it to him). Wrote a tag inside saying 'Mummy is looking after me for a while and keeping me safe on her tummy but I can't wait to meet you!'

To be honest it really just felt like my period was coming. It still does!

1-6 dpo - 1dpo a little spotting- probably from ovulation. Then nothing- but bbt temps went down after the ovulation spike. Right up til 6dpo.

6-7 dpo- spike again - to over 36.9.

7-10 dpo- spotting- I'm a regular spotter and this month has been particularly crazy with the spotting!! All over the shop. When I say spotting I do mean brown CM. other months it progressed to dark blood and then red then period. Not this time. Also other months only started spotting from 10dpo. Not 7dpo.

Also ever so slight soreness in breasts- but honestly- the same as every other month- so just thought it was my period.

Only other symptom that was worth noting was a ridiculously slight ache in my actual belly button a couple of times. Saw others had said similar too on here, which is really odd. But I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't have been sitting down quietly at work.

11dpo- less spotting. Slight brown when wiped once. Took first response for the hell of it as I'm impatient and within 10 seconds the second line came up!!

And here we are. Still don't quite believe it. hubby wants precisely 5 more tests before he's fully convinced ha ha.

FYI- hope for all those regular spotters- this cycle I had the most spotting I've ever had!! It was crazy throughout! But I do mean spotting- as in brown. I think my body was clearing itself out. Anyway- don't let anyone tell you it will make it harder to conceive. This is only cycle 4 since coming off the pill. And I've been on it for years!!!! And I'm 29. So don't be disheartened if you body likes to spot.

Also- be confident that you know your own body. I never listened to this 'first morning wee' for opk's nonsense. It's technically supposed to be the highest concentration. But afternoon urine was always better for me! Always. My body was changing quickly too during ovulation from high fertility to peak- a morning test would be flashing smiley and by the afternoon it was static (clear blue highest levels of LH). Test more if you have the money but equallydon't drive yourself crazy if it stressses you.

I just personally found I felt way more in control and it made me more confident in knowing my body.

This was also the very first month using preseed. That stuff is a bloody miracle worker! Now I know it probably wasn't all down to this but I'm damn sure it helped as I have quite sparse CM. put it this way- it can't hurt!!!

Please feel welcome to ask questions. I stalked this board for months and felt it only right to add to it.

I've posted my bbt chart here. Am stopping taking temps from now on as I don't want to freak myself if they fluctuate.

Baby dust to all!!!!!

Xxxx

Pregnant after 11 years ttc!

I am so excited to be finally sharing my storing on here!
I have a daughter who's 12 and I began ttc when she was almost a year old.
After 5 years of trying with no success I saw a fertility dr. We did clomid & trigger shit without success and the did laparoscopy which I was diagnosed with endometriosis between stages II-III (mild-moderate).
We went on trying another 3 years (totalling 8) when I got a bfp. I soon learned through beta hcg test & ultra sound that I was experiencing a blighted ovum. I was beyond upset. I had of course thought that we were finally pregnant when I got the positive test and it took me a few weeks to accept that our time really came. Then to have everything crumble..
We gave up trying for almost 2 years following the blighted ovum & then bam-
I got pregnant unexpectedly in July a month shy of 2 years following the blighted ovum.
This time I would go on believing everything is great for 8 weeks when I would then learn the baby's heart rate wasn't high enough (80/88 bpm) and we were warned we were miscarrying. I decided to let nature take it course. Big mistake. I carried our baby after it had passed; for another 4 weeks... and it was something I'll never forget and I wound up in the trauma unit for 17 hours in active "labor/miscarrying"...
we decided we would be happy with our family the way it is and give up all expectations or want for another child.
I went through SEVERE depression for 9-10 months following the misscarriage.
Our sex life decreased dramatically to only 0-1x per month and in the very same month I lost our baby last year- my period was late... I was apprehensive to test, knowing I had only had sex once that month and my boobs we're already sore at that time which always meant I had already ovulated (progesterone surge)... on cycle day 32 i gave in.... AND GOT A BFP, hubby was super excited and I felt upset he was so quick to get excited and I wouldn't let myself except that this was real until I at least confirmed baby was healthy including heart rate etc.. I am now 17 weeks & everything has been amazing. I have had some weird pains especially in the beginning of this pregnancy did to inflammation and scar tissue but bee propolis always helps wonders for that! I also made sure to take bee propolis following my misscarriage along with a Whole Foods multi vitamin and I will always think the bee propolis along with having the essentials my Body needs; from the multi vitamin- helped me conceive this healthy baby!! Bee propolis is literally the best rememdy I have found for fertility and pain both...
I hope my story gives inspiration to women who feel there time will never come!!!
Keep on keeping on, it's no joke when people say "it'll happen when u least expect it!"

Cheap tests said bfn for weeks

I bought cheap tests in bulk on Amazon, big mistake! Around the time I was supposed to get my period I took a test and got a bfn, took another once I was late, bfn. Waited a week and yup, bfn. I was going crazy because I was two weeks late now and had pregnancy symptoms but no period and my tests were coming out negative. So I decided to run to the store and buy 3 different name brand tests. ALL came out positive. I think the tests I bought in bulk are simply not sensitive enough. So lesson learned, it's not always a good idea to go cheaper and go thru the torture and frustration I went through. On another note, my ovulation window was completely off, so don't go by your expected dates if you're using that method only. My tracker said I would be ovulating a certain week and I ovulated 2 weeks later. I'm 2 mo pregnant now and although I didn't keep exact track, I can tell u some of my early symptoms.
DPO 1-6 Sore breasts
DPO 7-14 cramps, back ache, very emotional, dizzy spell, exhausted, not into food I usually love
