BFP after years of TTC

Let me just start out by saying... miracles are possible. My husband and I have been TTC for so so long. About 2 1/2 years. I have a blocked Fallopian tube (on my right side) and my husband has very low sperm motility and morphology. Meaning a large percentage aren't shaped right and they are very slow and sluggish. And in the last year we have found out through fertility treatments and multiple specialists ... that my right ovary (blocked side) is the side that produces the most and has the best eggs. My left side struggled. We did 5 months of Femara and 2 cycles of IUI. Which had to be done ONLY when I was ovulating on my left side, otherwise... it wouldn't work obviously. So many months had to be canceled due to the wrong side. We have been to 3 fertility specialists. All of which told us that because of my husband's low motility/ morphology of his sperm.. even when I was ovulating on my left side... his sperm had a 1% chance of getting where they needed to go without medical intervention- meaning IVF or IUI. So we prepared for our first round of IVF. I was due to start medications this month and then the egg retrieval/ egg transfer the following month. But.... by some miracle.. we got pregnant. On our own.... That 1% chance. MIRACLES HAPPEN .. do NOT give up.
Here was my 2WW symptoms. (Keep in mind I didn't think it was possible that we could get pregnant.. but I'm always paying close attention to my body and especially getting so close to our IVF)
3 days before I ovulated.. I did a fertility acupuncture session. I think this had a lot to do in helping us conceive.
Around day 13 in my cycle I felt pains in my LEFT side..
2DPO More small pains in left side.
3DPO-6DPO Really Hungry. Tired. Went to bed early.
10DPO boobs sore, swollen, heavy. (I thought.. dang.. here comes AF)
12DPO Took a test (because I do every month) 1 line and then another very faded line appeared after 10 minutes so I counted it as a BFN and evap took another test that night because I couldn't stop thinking about it.. same thing. Line after 10 min.
Cramped all night. Thought for sure I would wake up to AF
13DPO No AF in morning. POAS with FMU. Faint line again.. but not instant. Thinking I'm pregnant maybe. Felt slightly nauseas throughout day Like carsick almost. AF type cramps that night. Felt SO disapointed and angry at myself for getting my hopes up again.
14DPO Woke up- no AF. (I was due for AF at 13DPO) so I took another test with FMU and bam. BFP. Not crazy solid but it was there within 2 minutes. Took another digital test just because and there it was- the beautiful words PREGNANT.
In complete shock.
There was supposed to be no way this could happen without IUI or IVF. Haven't even told my doctor yet but DO NOT GIVE UP LADIES!!!

BFP with grapefruit juice and softcups

Background: me 31, OH 32. Low AMH (13.1 a year ago), him low morphology (1%), but everything else fine on SA.

I have 12 day luteal phase, and recently my EWCM seemed to dry up a little bit. Never been pregnant before, but this was only our second month of trying, so despite low AMH and low morphology there was no proven infertility. So who knows what would have happened if we'd just left it to chance...

Anyway, this is what we did:

Temping, charting on kindara, CM monitoring, drank 250ml of pure grapefruit juice from CD10 to CD16 to improve slipperiness of EWCM, used instead softcups after intercourse during fertile days, monitored my follicles through ultrasound (lucky enough to a midwife sonographer), this not necessary by the way ;) it was only for my personal curiosity :)

CD1 to CD5: menses
CD6: spotting
CD7: spotting + sticky CM
CD8: sticky CM, intercourse
CD8,9,10,11: sticky CM
CD12: creamy CM, slippery and lubricated vaginal sensation, follicle not mature yet though (as per ultrasound)
CD13: creamy CM
CD14: EWCM! slippery and lubricated vaginal sensation
CD15: EWCM, slippery, wet and lubricated vaginal sensation, temperature dip. Intercourse, instead softcup inserted straight afterwards and kept in overnight.
CD16: another temp dip, CM somewhat creamy and vaginal sensation only slightly slippery. Intense Ovulation pain in the evening. Ovulation day! Intercourse + instead softcup overnight.
1DPO: temp rise above coverline, CM back to sticky.
2DPO: sticky CM
3DPO: sticky CM
4DPO: sticky CM
5DPO: sticky CM
6DPO: sticky CM
7DPO: sticky CM
8DPO: temp dip waaaay below coverline, sticky CM
9DPO: even deeper temp dip, sticky CM
10DPO: temp back up, creamy CM, slight nausea in the evening for about an hour
11DPO: temp dip below coverline, creamy CM
12DPO: temp dip below coverline, sticky CM. POAS (not FMU) just out of curiosity as these temps don't look promising at all... faint BFP!!! Sore breasts.
13DPO: no menses, temp very high. BFN :(
14DPO: no menses, very, very, veeeery faint BFP.
15DPO:no menses, sore breasts, faint BFP.
16DPO: breasts suuuper sore, and nipples... OMG, so sensitive and sore. Slightly darker BFP.
17DPO: temp dip, tiny amount of spotting, more brownish sticky CM. watery discharge.
18DPO: temp dip, watery discharge.
19DPO: temp back up, nausea in evening.
20DPO: temp dip, breasts not sore anymore.
21DPO: finally a clear and strong BFP :D sore breasts and sensitive nipples.

I think implantation was late-ish, hence it took a while for those BFPs to get darker.

I also started taking maca and vitex from CD15, OH also started maca. I honestly do not think they had anything to do with the BFP as I don't see how they would have had time to work!

I think the winning combo was: intercourse on the day before and the day of ovulation + softcups. I improved the fertile quality of my CM with grapefruit juice, but if your EWCM is wet and fertile you don't need this.

What I learned: BFPs can take a loooooong time to get darker!

Baby dust to you all :D

Pregnant AFTER IVF.......Naturally!!!!

I wanted to give a little hope to those in the TWW as well as those who have been through fertility treatment only to have it end in a broken heart........

My husband and I have spent the last year trudging through IVF. We had a wonderful egg count and ended up with four AA six day snow babies.....we were over the moon!!!! After three transfers and two positive pregnancies all of them ended in miscarriage (one took 14 weeks from start to finish and the other about seven all within six months of each other). Before we knew it all our embryos were gone. It was very easy for me to say no more treatment at that time. After about a month of emotional healing we started to move onto adoption but also decided to try naturally until we submitted everything to the agency early next year.

In regards to our infertility I had a "lazy" tube, unpredictable cycles, hypothyroidism and Lupus and my husband was border line motility issue......he just laughs and tells me it wasn't his best work that day:-) I started to temp back in August as well as take ovulation tests around the time I "felt" I was ovulating. It turns out IVF treatment jump started my body and ovulation occurred like clock work the first two months. August and September we did not have any luck but we moved on to October hopeful as one can be.

October was a crazy cycle! I had two LH surges with the last one ending in ovulation confirmed through temping. I know one can have a positive ovulation test only to not truly ovulate and that is why I temp everyday. I actually made an appointment with my OBGYN last Friday and we decided just to to run a few hormone tests next cycle on day 3 and 21 and my husband is scheduled for another semenalysis this coming Tuesday. I am happy and in shock to report we will not be making it to those dates.......this morning I decided to take a test and I am pregnant!!!!!! No medications......no doctors......just the two of us......cue the song!!!!!!

I know I rely on others testimonies on what they did different and how they felt so I am going to share with you what my journey has been like over the last few months trying naturally!!!!!

August up until today:

I started Evening Primrose Oil Cycle Day 1 up until ovulation was confirmed (through temping).
The week before ovulation I took mucinex, the plain and simple one with no extras added in, to help with CM because mine is nothing!!!!
Every time we BD I used Preseed.....about half a tube and it went all the way up.
All month long I take B6 as well as the small dose of baby Aspirin.
Husband has been taking Zinc everyday (when he remembers).

Symptoms:
1 DPO-3DPO just normal ovulation cramping. I spotted a little bit during this time and I think that was because this was the second time my body tried to ovulate this month.
4 DPO-8 DPO NOTHING and I mean NOTHING!!!!!!!!
9 DPO very hungry and that has not ended!!!!! Lots of watery CM with white goop in it.
10 DPO terrible hormone headache just like every month and needed a nap in the afternoon. More watery CM.
11 DPO a little crampy and told husband AF may be a yucky one this month.....but no spotting and I spot three days before my period EVERY month but nothing so far.....mmmmmmmmm. Another nap and lots of snacks today. More water CM.
12 DPO woke up needing to pee and my belly was louder than my alarm at 7 am. VERY watery CM so much so when I first wiped I thought spotting for AF had started but nothing but water. In the middle of the day without holding it at all I decided I had one test from last month and went ahead and took. I knew it was impossible but I needed to just get it over with so AF would start. Within a minute my world turned upside down and against what the doctors believed to be possible I am pregnant!!!!! No squinter here.....full blown two lines one day before missed period!!!!!!

Now I do not know if this is going to turn out in our favor but I am hopeful that I even got pregnant. My doctor made room for me on Thursday and the terrible week of blood tests and BETA double times will begin but with faith and hope maybe, just maybe I will have conceived our rainbow baby the month we would have delivered our first baby we lost on Valentine's Day just nine months ago<3

BFP @ 5dp5dt

After two failed FET's (March: BFN & June: Chemical Pregnancy) earlier this year, I am excited to share my BFP! We transferred 1 perfect blastocyst on October 30. Here were my symptoms:

0dp5dt - nada... a little cramping

1dp5dt - light cramping, emotional

2dp5dt - more intense cramping... all day & night, vivid dream

3dp5dt - cramping which was intense at night - woke me up, felt like poking on left side of uterus. vivid dream, hot flashes

4dp5dt - very tired (didn't sleep well), hot flashes, vivid dream

5dp5dt - vivid dream, cramping, BFP in the afternoon!

6dp5dt - tired, a little cramping, another BFP

7dp5dt & 8dp5dt - extremely tired, but that's it!

This is so much different than my first pregnancy where in the TWW, all I had was cramping. I had NO other symptoms. Goes to show that while it's fun to look at all these different stories, every pregnancy is different!

BFP

DH and I had been trying for 5 years to conceive. We are in our late 20s. He has low everything and I have 1 son from a previous relationship. 3 days after my cycle I did 3 days of clomid 100mg it did nothing for me I then did 3 days of injectables which I got 4 mature follies. On 9/5/16 I did the trigger shot and on 9/7 we did our first IUI his sperm after the wash was 3.1 million the doctor said they don't do iuis with anything lower then 3million. During the TWW I took progesterone which gave me cramps every day and I got sore breast. The doctor said I could take a pregnancy test on 9/21/16. 2 days before I got the worst cramps I had ever experienced I was convinced AF was coming. 9/21/16 came but I chose not to test because of the fact that I was sure I was going to get my period. I woke up with a sore throats and runny nose on 9/22/16 and before taking any medication I bought a cheap dollar store test. I was sure it was going to be negative and to my surprise I got 2 positive lines. Still not convinced I bought a digital test and that also came back positive and that same day my doctor did blood work and they also confirmed it was positive. I wasn't to convinced we would get our BFP with our first IUI especially with his sperm count being so low and the sever cramping I was having but we are proof that anything is possible.

Pregnant Following a Chemical Pregnancy Last Month

Hello,

I am in shock and disbelief still. July 24 was actually my bleed after getting a very, very, very faint positive bfp a couple days earlier. This faint test appeared at 13 dpo and was negative the next day. My doctor confirmed that my hcg was back to zero and this bleeding ended. So my husband and I decided to try again after careful thought. We did not BD often in August as our work schedules conflicted. We BD on CD 10, CD12, CD14, and CD15. My opk was positive on CD15 and Fertility Friend confirmed my ovulation for CD17.

Symptoms:

2DPO: anxiety, fatigue, emotional, increased sex drive
3DPO: creamy cm, hot, fatigue, sore boobs
4DPO: scant cm, boobs achy in the center, faint burning on sides of boobs, increased sex drive
5DPO: sore boobs, fatigue, increased sex drive
6DPO: increased sex drive, creamy cm
7DPO: no cm at all (very dry), cp high, increased sex drive
8DPO: no cm, CP way high (I can't reach it), fatigue, dizzy, increased sex drive, faint positive Wondfo test today
9DPO: no cm, all symptoms GONE, Clear Blue Digital Weeks Estimator "Pregnant 1-2", sharp twinges in pelvic area lower left, sex drive WAY UP!!! Sharp cramp at night and heavy uterus feeling, Beta HCG at 35
10DPO: little creamy cm, heavy uterus like AF is on heavy but it is not on, faint nausea, burning cramps on lower left pelvic area, increased sex drive, no appetite, Wondfo test way darker and Pregnent result on digital CB.
11DPO: faint brown spotting at night when I wipe, CBWE jumped to "Pregnant 2-3", incredibly horny, fatigue, no appetite
12DPO: no cm, heavy uterus, light brown spotting not on underwear, increased sex drive, no appetite
13DPO: HCG beta at 240, light brown spotting, heavy uterus feeling gone, cramps on lower right pelvic region strong, lost 4 pounds since 8DPO:(, increased sex drive
14DPO: backache and anxiety, but appetite is back somewhat
15DPO: no symptoms but winded easily

So I have continued to POAS because of my chemical last month. Last month, I only had one faint BFP. This cycle, I have had BFP's everyday 8DPO. I have never been more horny in my life and I never had such a dry luteal phase before. I am usually creamy cm from ovulation through to AF.

Cannot believe I am finally able to put my TWW diary on here with a BFP!

Long story short married 10 years this year, I am 32 husband is 33, started trying for a baby over 6 years ago, 3 failed rounds of IVF with 3 years off between this one and the last one. I suffered OHSS for my first two cycles and didn't want to ever do it again but so glad we changed our minds and changed clinics to get another opinion. This last cycle we only got 1 good embryo to transfer but I guess it only takes 1 right? I was going to wait for the blood test in two days but just couldn't wait as I was 100% sure it was going to be a negative result.

- Sharp pains back after lunch on left this time

1st BFP ever after 5 years ttc with IVF/ICSI!!

I never thought I would be posting my BFP story on here, there was actually a really low point in my life where I thought I might never be able to carry my own child. Here's my story...

My husband and I got married 9/12/2009, we were pretty young when we got married so we planned to wait about 1-2 years before trying for a baby. We decided about a year and half into our marriage I was going to stop taking birth control, I thought for sure I would get pregnant within that year. After 2 years we decided to get more serious and started tracking my cycle, another year passes and nothing. That's when I make all our dr. appts. to get checked out and all tests were normal for me and we find out my husband has extremely low motility. He made many life style changes in hopes to increase his motility and after a year nothing changes and still no BFP. We decide to go to our first RE and tried IUI a few times in the summer of 2015 all end in BFN...we're devastated. We were referred to our next RE at the beginning of this year and made our first IVF consult for May. We started our first cycle in mid June. I had my egg retrieval on 7/11- we got 14 eggs (OMG) and 11 fertilized. Only 4 made it to day 5, 2 were great quality and 2 were poor. We froze the two poor as backup and transferred the other two on 7/16. During my wait my boobs were super sore, definitely had cramping (that felt just like menstrual cramps) and I was super tired. I waited until 8dp5dt to take my first hpt and it was the first BFP I've ever seen!! The next 2 days got darker each day until my blood came back very positive. I had my first ultrasound 2 weeks later and saw BOTH heartbeats yes you read that right....we're having TWINS!!!

I honestly didn't think it was going to work for us on our first try so I didn't track my symptoms day by day but here are somethings I did that I'm pretty sure helped in our success: I meditated daily and stuck to my yoga routine as long as my body allowed, ate lots of healthy fats, fruits and veggies and limited the carbs and sugar, got a relaxation/fertility massage the night before my transfer, after my transfer I took 3 days off to just relax, I ate lots of warm foods and continued with my meditations :) I'm so so grateful and hope my story will give hope to someone out there that's feeling just as low as I was. Stay positive and keep the faith, I truly believe god put me on this emotional infertility journey for a reason. I will never take this pregnancy for granted and will always advocate for other women struggling to get pregnant. Opening up and sharing with other women really got me through some of my hardest days. Happy trails and lots of baby dust to you all Xoxo

BFP 1st IVF w ICSI after a year trying...

I can't believe I'm finally posting here- I stalked this site for a year while ttc and gained a lot of hope through reading everyone's stories. Here's a quick summary of our situation:
My husband and I got married last July and started trying right away. We used OPKs, temping, pre-seed- you name it! Every time I got my period, I was devastated. I tried to be brave but I got really discouraged when friends all around me started getting pregnant. Finally after about 8-9 months, we went to my OBGYN and requested testing. It turned out that my husband was dealing with severe male factor: his best sample was 2 mil and they were not all healthy. Luckily, male factor turned out to be our only issue. OB referred us to a fertility specialist and we started our IVF cycle on June 10 with Lupron, then started stims on June 19. We had a very successful retrieval on July 2 (15 retrieved, 12 fertilized) and 6 made it to day 5. We now have 5 frozen embies and one growing inside my tummy:) IVF meds mimic a lot of pregnancy symptoms, so it is hard to determine what was real and what was due to the meds, but here it goes:

1-4 dp5dt: Just continued bloat
5-6: dp5dt: Light brown spotting (looked more like brown discharge) and SUPER emotional. I now realize the spotting must have been implantation bleeding, but at the time I convinced myself it was a period coming on and I cried for 2 days!
7 dp5dt: (this is the equivalent of 12 dpo) BFP with FMU and it wasn't even a squinter! Husband and I were totally speechless because we both expected the worst after the spotting.
8-9 dp5dt: tests got darker and I started experiencing exhaustion and some breast soreness.
10-12 dp5dt: positive blood test, exhaustion and breast soreness got worse.
13 dp5dt- present: SO TIRED! I need daily naps and I'm still ready for bed by 9. Breast pain got worse every day until about 8 weeks, now they are just huge. We have our third ultrasound this afternoon.

I know infertility- and IVF, make for a difficult, heartbreaking journey. I hope reading this will give some of you hope and inspiration to keep moving forward on your baby journeys :)

5 Days Post IUI #1

So this is my first time going through any kind of fertility treatment. Fortunately, I’ve never had an issue TTC. I currently have 2 kids…. With a 3rd that I gave up for adoption. (I was not in a great place, not financially stable or with a stable home. The guy I was with at that time, who happens to be my daughter’s father, was very physically and mentally abusive. He also was abusive with my kids. I didn’t want to bring another child into such a crazy and unstable situation. So adoption was the solution. I thought that I was doing some good by not aborting and giving a couple the chance to enjoy the gift of having a child.) I never share this information because the times I have shared this, I’m criticized as a horrible person and a bad mother.
When I met my husband, he let me know that he was not able to have children but he so eagerly wanted to have a child. He’s a cancer survivor – testicular cancer stage 4 – and it was caught at a very advanced stage. It had spread to his lymph nodes and into his abdomen. He lost a testicle and now has a sweet scar from his chest down to a few inches above his penis. He’s lost the ability to ejaculate. He had his sperm frozen for a chance to be able to have kids in the future (he was about 21). We’ve been together for 5 years and married 1 year. But the talk about having kids has always been a topic of conversation. He loves and accepts my kids as his own, but he still aches for a child of “his own”. I don’t blame him. Anyhow, I went for a blood test, took Clomid for 5 days (5th to 9th days of my AF). I went in on my 12th day to get a blood test and was told I could take the injection (Ovidrel) that afternoon and come in the next day for insemination. This was this past Sunday July 31. I’m now 5 days post iui and this 2WW is really killing me and my husband. We want to take a HPT but we are too afraid to get a BFN. I keep reading that it’s still too early and that the trigger shot might still be in my system.
I haven’t been paying too much attention to any symptoms but I have noticed that the last 2 days, my nipples are very tender. I’ve felt cramping at twice every day. Nothing major but it is a bit of discomfort. One sharp pain last night (day 4) in the evening but like a stabbing pain and then again when I was going to bed. No spotting. Added note: my RE said that I was the first “normal woman” he’s seen a while so it shouldn’t be hard to have a successful IUI. I don’t know if I’m leaving any info out or anything. This is my first time writing and sharing anything about myself.

Crossing my fingers for all you ladies TTC!!
