BFP after chemical with male factor problems

Hi Ladies!
So just to summarise our journey, DH and I started TTC Jan 2014...after 7 months we fell pregnant but sadly 2 days after I was due AF I started to bleed...cue early loss. We were devestated. We carried on TTC straight away as luckily I ovulated 2 weeks later. After a year we went for tests, I was all fine but unfortunatly DH was told he had a LSC with poor motility and morphology :-( gutted doesn't come close. According to our GP our previous conception had been 'very lucky', he put the chemical down to the embryo having chromosome abnormalities and we were put on the waiting list to see a fertility expert. However, 9 months after our horrible loss (to the date!) we got our BFP again, last week! Happy times!
I wanted to share my story because I often wanted to ask SO many questions...wondering, will it ever work for us? Are we able to have a normal natural conception? Are we doing enough? Why us???? So to let you know what we did...when we got our first BFP, we were doing EVERYTHING! OPKS, temping, following the SMEP for BD, using preseed, BD in certain positions, me laying for an hour after BD. This time we did, NOTHING! It was genuinely the first month I didn't even think about O day, or temps, or TWW in general..I had just switched off. I was a crazy POAS mess up until this cycle too but this time I waited until AF didn't show before I tested and got a + digi straight away.
I guess my advice is this...it will happen when the time is right (awful cliché I know)...if it can for us, it can for most of you and I wish you every luck and happiness on the world.
One thing to note also...first BFP I felt no different to normal cycles and my tests were only faint and did not get any darker. This time my tests have got increasingly darker and continue to do so and I've experienced cramps, increased appetite and fatigue.
I hope my story helps some of you!

Vasectomy not reversed but now prenant with HCG 1,200 at 2ww!!

33 years ago I had a vasectomy after my 3rd child. Divorced & met my new love 15 years ago who is now 38. I'm now 63 years so it was time to make babies & of the two options it was either reversal or go for IVF. Elected for IVF. Didn't think it was possible but 6 months ago and after 20 minutes in an operating theatre a needle extracted millions of my swimmers. 100% painless, no after effects, bloody amazing. At same time the wife 'went under' & they retrieved 12 eggs. Our 1st try with a fresh 5day old blastocyst grown in the lab made it to 6 weeks with some medication assistance. The HCG at 2 weeks was 140, more good news at 6 weeks HCG was 1,500, BUT we were shattered as it just disappeared at ultra sound at 8 weeks. Our 2nd FET (frozen embryo transfer) ended up a zero result at 2ww. BUT 1 hour ago got the news that our 3rd FET after a 2ww was bloody positive & bloody fantastic. The reason for this post is that it is 1,200 HCG! This was 1 embryo, WTF (that's not an IVF acronym) no drugs, no tablets, no chemicals so does anyone know (other than a negative reason) is this normal? The missus has twins in her second line of cousins on both sides of family tree.

3rd month lucky

DH and I have been married for two years and withdrew use of contraception middle of my cycle in January. I am not counting that cycle though because I knew I had gone past O by the time we started TTC.

First cycle I just tried to time BD using an app. Nothing. AF came as per usual

2nd cycle started to get serious. Purchased fertility microscope, digital OPKs (clearblue advanced) and regular OPKs. The clearblue advanced was a waste of money because I o quite late in my cycle and I ran out of sticks before I ever got peak. I also got 5 days of flashing smileys. No way can I be that fertile right? On the basis of the standard OPKs I estimated I ovulated on CD18-19. I ended up having a 10 day luteal phase that month. Panicked and rushed out to the chemist to buy b6 and vitex

3rd cycle. Started AF on March 15th 2015. Light AF with not much cramps. Started testing with OPKs on CD12. This is the month we implemented SMEP. So we BD C12 EOD until my positive OPK (CD15 from memory?), day of positive OPK, day after, day after that, skipped a day and then went again. I got my BFP on 10DPO (but it was so so faint I didn't believe it until I got one again on 11DPO). Got darker on 12DPO, digital confirmed 1-2 weeks pregnant at 13DPO and the positive was very blazing at 13DPO.

I have had a bad history of period pains and so I had been seeing a gynaecologist who suspected endo. When we started TTC she ran alot of tests including hormone tests. All came back fine (estrogen, LH, progesterone etc). We also had a SA done on my DH. That came back not great. It said 20% motility and only 3% of sperm with normal morphology. Around 3 weeks later I found out I was pregnant. We were expecting it to take ages with DH's sperm issues. It's difficult to say if the doctors got the tests wrong, if we just got lucky or if the SMEP helps. Either way our first bambino is due December 23rd

As for symptoms... NOTHING. I mean nothing unusual/not similar to my usual PMS prior to my positive pregnancy test. I only got any kind of symptoms which I thought were unusual from 10-11DPO. Around 10-11DPO I got sharp pains in my hip, bad back pain, AF type cramps, spotting, fatigue and a weird acidy production from the inside of my cheeks.

In sum:

What I do recommend
-Frequent babydancing. Preferably the SMEP if you can
-Standard OPKs
-Good vitamin regime

What I don't recommend
-Rushing to the doctors for tests too early. Made us panic for no reason
-Digital OPKS (expensive and no merit above standard OPKs)
-Fertility microscopes . Hard to use

Good luck and babydust to all

BFP IVF/ICSI after 5 years TTC!!!

I am 33 years old, no fertility issues have ever been found! Pregnant once (unplanned) 10 years prior with miscarriage @6weeks. I tried for 3 years previously with my ex-husband when we found out he had severe sperm(morphology, count) issues. I've done temping, OPK's, Pre-seed, you name it!!! Fast forward a few years to my current relationship, fiance and I have been trying for awhile when the same issues seem to be arising again! Had a sperm analysis done and his count is EXTREMELY low. Got referred for IVF/ICSI right away. Found the best clinic in Northern California(3 hours away) and got started right away! All of my testing showed great ovarian reserve, uterus and ovaries great, so I was able to donate half of my eggs retrieved to offset the high cost! Had 2 3-day embryos rated AA put back in, embryologist even came in to tell me they looked perfect(no fragmentation). I couldn't believe it was actually my turn to be prego!!!!Stimulation went great and here are my symptoms-

Retrieval Day: Felt great everything went smoothly, rested in the evening and night.
1dp3dt: No symptoms except bloating, went to bed and woke up in the middle of the night with extreme pain in right ovary. rushed to ER and given IV said I had possible ovarian torsion? After about 3 hours of extreme pain it resolved itself? We are still not exactly sure what happen!
2dp3dt:still a little sore in ovary area, no other symptoms. Started progesterone suppositories.
3dp3dt:a little clear discharge.
4dp3dt:slight cramping in uterus(middle area) beginning, no sore boobs, no nausea, energy a little low.
5dp3dt:BFN, cramping continues...
6dp3dt:cramping in uterus, lite discharge, low energy.
7dp3dt:take wondfro, SLIGHTEST faint line almost evap looking. More cramping. No spotting at all!
8dp3dt:BFP!!!Clear but faint line!!! Everyone else sees it very clearly! Cramping intensifies, waves of nausea, slight food aversions. This is the first line out of maybe 300 times I've POAS!!!! Go in for my beta tomorrow!!! Fingers crossed!!!

Severe MFI- Natural Pregnacy turned ectopic

Husbands SA's ranged from zero to 7 million with the average being less than 2 million due to severe varicoceles and high testosterone. We had been trying for 2.5 years and were planning surgery to try to make us eligible for IUI because we were only eligible for IVF with ICSI.

CD:16- O day. Had sex after 5 days of abstinance(he was gone and just got home) and put a soft cup in after because I had one left over and laying around from a year ago that I wanted to get rid of.
1dpo- Typical progesterone triggered constipation and bloating like always.
3dpo- breast tenderness, of course progesterone again.
7dpo- CF yellow tinged which has never happened before. Felt an urgency to have BM's. Morning headaches.
8&9dpo- Same symptoms as 7dpo, but broke out in a rash on my hands(twice). I started becoming obsessed with avocados and started getting AF like cramps at 9dpo.
11&12dpo- my nipples became sore and sensitive, and overall tender breasts. I had extremely light implantation spotting and continued cramps.
14dpo- AF due but not here. I randomly took an hpt for the first time in a year and it was a BFN. I felt like I had just had a period without any bleeding. I was frustrated that I wasn't getting my period because I thought everything was PMS. I assumed I was wrong about when O was.
16dpo- AF still not here, and my nipples are ridiculously sensitive, darkened and enlarged. Something is seriously different this month. Took seven HPTs and all are BFP!
17dpo- Blood test is BFP
19dpo- Beta 211.3
21dpo- Beta 273.6
24dpo- Beta 355.9

4-5 weeks pregnant- Betas rising but not doubling, rate of increase declining. Hot flashes, fatigue(early bed time&naps), up early to eat, mood swings(cried easily) and continued TWW symptoms. Ultrasounds show nothing.
6-7 weeks pregnant- decreased appetite, some mild nausea and same symptoms as weeks 4&5 minus the cramping. Pseudo sac on ultrasound but can't locate gestational sac and baby. Brown spotting that then turned black and red. Progesterone and estrogen dropping.

Received methotrexate injections at 7 weeks pregnant for highly probable ectopic. Started to bleed and cramp an hour later. Passed an enormous sac with a little baby inside. Sent to pathology, pseudo sac gone on ultrasound. Pathology didn't determine anything, doctor is guessing assuming the pregnancy was on my cervix. I have no idea where baby was.

BFP with severe MFI

My husband and I were only candidates for IVF with ICSI due to his severely low sperm count(thanks to varicoceles). We weren't even eligible to try IUI, but we were planning surgery for my husband to help potentially make IUI a possibility instead of IVF/ICSI. His counts ranged from zero to 7 million, with less than 2 million being the average result of an SA.
My husband was gone during the majority of my fertile phase but he came home during the end of it and we DTD on my O day, and after 5 days of abstinence. I put a soft cup in after and I guess it did the trick(after 2.5years of ttc.)
I didn't get a BFP until AF was two days late...at 16dpo. That was 10 days before his surgery. I got a BFN at 14dpo, and I had a teeny tiny amount of implantation spotting 11&12dpo. So always believe in miracles, keep room in your heart for the impossible and even if you get a negative late in your LP remember there's still a chance.

Unfortunately my pregnancy was a cervical ectopic(no rupture or damage to my health thankfully) and was unsuccessful so I don't want to go into my symptoms, but I just wanted to share an incredible success story. Don't ever feel stupid for having some hope in a situation that seems hopeless.

Bfp 10 dpo, unexpected symptoms

This is my second conception during a very stressful month. With my first baby, I was finishing my dissertation, graduating, hosting both sets of parents, presenting at a major conference, and dealing with my dad's cancer diagnosis. This time, I was hosting a conference, submitting a paper for review, and hosting my parents. Clearly, "relax and it will happen" is not in my playbook!

Anyway, here's how it happened. We were busy, then sick, then hosting, so only 2 attempts this month. We did a fertility workup with #1, so we knew to take mucinex, due to hubby's high viscosity. His counts were low when we checked a couple years ago, so we were surprised it happened quickly this time. I'm 37, he is 38.

CD14: EWCM, high on cbfm, bd at night
CD15: EWCM, peak on cbfm, bd at night.
CD16: EWCM, FF says ov day. Parents arrive, no more bd!
4-5 DPO: lotiony CM (happens sometimes).
6 DPO Tired and happy. Feel like cold starting. Some time in here I randomly got vesicular athletes foot, which I got last pregnancy from a bad pedi then never got again. Didn't think much of it.
7 DPO: exhausted, some cramping at night. Still feel like cold coming. Bloated. (Bloating not unusual.)
8 DPO notes seem worth sharing: EWCM! Was I wrong about ovulation date? Or is period coming? Have been bloated a couple of days. Insane if this is ovulation. Poor, stressed out body! Otoh, have pooped like 3x today so could be period. Blood on tissue when blew nose at night. Maybe it's just progesterone, middle of month stuff.
9 DPO: hosted BIG conference. Presented a paper at it. Attended dinner until late. Exhausted but fun. Was emotional when it ended -- felt I had underperformed, even though it was GREAT. Slight cramping continues. More blood with nose blowing.
10 DPO: took 2h nap middle of day. Also had carpal tunnel in right wrist -- strange for me! More blood with nose blowing. We had a double date planned, and I had been drinking 2 nights straight already. Felt really hot while napping with daughter. Decided I should test before going out. BFP on CB digital. It came up in about 30 seconds. Mind blown.

It's only 11 DPO today. Still have big waves of fatigue, cramping. Super excited!! Hoping it sticks, of course.

Good luck, all. I figured I'd be waiting another year for a bfp, like last time, with this site to keep me company. Here's hoping that won't be the case :)

TTC w/ PCOS and MF

Hello ladies! I got my very first BFP ever last night, but first I will give a little history. I'm 26 diagnosed with PCOS about 2-3 years ago. I always felt something was very wrong bc I would go months w/o af and I had serious weight gain in a short amount of time. Me and my hubby have been trying to conceive for the last year with no luck. My DR sent hubby for a SA which came back with low sperm count at about 3 mil and pretty good motility. We decided to do medicated IUI rounds but the first round would just be medicated no IUI bc of how my insurance is set up (I have tricare). He put me on 2.5mg of femara cd 3-7 and then I started follistim on cd 9-11, had an us on cd 12 showed 3 follies: 11mm 13mm and 24 mm so I had just one mature follie. I triggered that night with ovidrel, and also bd that night, cd13, and cd 15. I was expected to ovulate on cd 14. I honestly thought this cycle would be a bust and was really just interested in seeing how my body reacted to the meds. I paid no attention to any symptoms UNTIL af never should up. So at 21 dpo I tested with a FRER and that first line showed up immediately! It was so dark it pulled most of the ink away from the control line! I couldn't believe it! So I waited and tested again this morning and got the same result! I can't wait to call my dr office 2mro to set up my beta test! I just want all you ladies ttc to always have faith, I too thought it would never happen and here I am. I'm just praying for a sticky bean and a healthy pregnancy!

BFP and I knew it!

This site has helped me hold my faith many a night when I felt like becoming pregnant was something unattainable. It helped so much to read about other women achieving this prize. It's not about the BFP they are new lives our families growing. So special this site and these times these precious moments. Hope you also find hope here.
Me now 35 DH is 36. Both healthy and active. We have a 4year-old.
My story begins two and a half years ago when we started trying for our second child. A year into it and after trying every trick and every bd position known to man, I decided to see a specialist because I secretly doubted my hubbies little swimmers were doing their job. I was right and we were advised to go straight to IVF. Ladies don't depend on your obgyn sperm count, my husband was assured it was fine. Well it was not! If you are over 35 and trying for more than six months you may need intervention!
Well we did. I have to say my retrieval was hard and I was unprepared for it all and the recovery after. I didn't get OHSS but it took me an entire week to not feel excruciating pain and I have a high pain tolerance! They did retrieve 26 eggs which I am sure is the reason behind my painful recovery. 19 fertilized and 9 were able to be frozen this was December 2014. I had my transfer done March 19th 2015. It was a 6 day FET of two grade A embryos and it was a much more pleasant experience. The very next day I felt a burning hot spot in my right ovary area. I needed to eat three times as much as I usually do. Over that week the week leading up to my BFP I was short of breath, extremely cold especially at night, and very sleepy. All I wanted to do was eat and sleep. I POAS the morning of the 26th and got my BFP. I had blood work done on the 27th and it was confirmed. IVF is no easy road but keep your hope and dreams alive with prayer and positive thinking. I hope this little bean or beans stick around and lots of baby dust to us all.
God Bless each and every one of us with the desire of our hearts...children!

BFP after first IUI

I just got my first BFP, and the hubby and I are elated! :D

A little back story on us: DH is 30 and I am 27 with mild endometriosis. He has a slight male factor (3% morphology and slightly low numbers). I went off of birth control in 2011 because it made me feel miserable! Just screwed my hormones up and left me feeling overall horrible. So we were not trying/not preventing until Christmas 2013. We decided to go for it and try all of 2014, no luck. Every month was more and more heart breaking. I actually got so depressed that I couldn't even look into fertility specialist without crying and feeling hopeless. However, my best friend just had a baby in November 2014, and they stayed a few nights during Christmas time with us. Seeing her perfect little angel made me realize that I needed to face my infertility issues.

So DH and I start doing our research and find a clinic 2.5 hours away from our town (sadly, nothing closer exist in our area). We went trough the normal tests,my hormones and tubes all look great, I'm ovulating on my own. His sperm is pretty good but not perfect. Fortunately, I already had my endometriosis diagnosis from 2010, so I pretty much knew why we were getting nothing but BFNs every month. This sped up the process, and the RE didn't waste any time once we were done with all of the initial testing and immediately put me on a combination of Letrozole and Gonal-f, with Novarel as the trigger and progesterone suppositories after the IUI.

I produced 3 follicles, all over 18mm. The day of the IUI i had horrible stomach pain the entire day (probably ovulation pain). And here were the rest of my symptoms for my fellow symptom trackers! (I was reading these stories nonstop during my 2ww).

dpo1- major stomach cramps/discomfort
dpo2-3 - mild cramps, nothing else really noticeable
dpo 4-5 - twingey/crampy feeling in the area of my uterus on and off as well as in my actual vagina (sorry if tmi, but no one else ever warned me about these!) and fatigue starts to hit me, but I assumed that was from the progesterone, as well as sore nipples
dpo 6 - vivd dreams start, slight insomnia, sharp pains in uturus for a few minutes at night (im assuming implantation pains) more weird v cramps and sore nips, and of course fatigue
dpo 7-8 - sore nips turning into sore breast (like, super sore!), more vivid dreams, more weird v cramps, and fatigue
dpo 9 - no more vivid dreams, full blown breast soreness and nips randomly getting excited for no reason (again, sorry if tmi!) less v cramps, took a HPT to see if trigger shot was gone and it was negative, more fatigue
dpo 10-11- symptoms same as above, except first BFP! I was hesitant to believe it so I took more and all BFP!! every day the line gets a little darker (so Im assuming it cant be the trigger because the hormone level is increasing, not decreasing)
dpo 12 - all the same symptoms still, more BFPs, but add in sensitive stomach. I gagged trying to eat oatmeal and made DH scrape it out because looking at it made me feel queasy

So, now we are waiting for the blood test on DPO 14! We are still a little in shock and trying not to get overly excited, because anything can happen in the next few months. I wanted to post this to tell all of you mommies to be that there is hope! I really never expected to get a BFP and started loosing hope! But stay strong and don't give up! Baby dust to all!!!
