Pregnant w/ Twins! :)

I found this fantastic site at the start of my two week wait and actually read every single passage listed on here during my own TWW. I am thrilled to share my story, in hopes it will help some of you... History/Background: My husband and I got married in our 30's in 2008, so we decided to try for a family right away as we both were ready. My journey has been long and difficult over the past 4 years of TTC. Through it all, several months were cancelled due to cysts on my ovaries... -- 2009 Clomid for 5 Cycles -- 2009 HSG Test -- 2010 IUIs - 3 Failed Cycles -- 2010 Surgery: Laparoscopy to Confirm & Remove Endometriosis -- 2011 Surgery: Hysteroscopy to Remove Uterine Polyps -- 2011 Several Genetic Tests Completed -- 2012 HSG Test -- 2012 Cysts - 4 Cancelled Cycles, then put on BCP -- 2012 Surgery: Hysteroscopy to Remove Uterine Polyps Details for Month/Cycle: My last cycle started on 10/22 and we began our injections a few days later. [Follistim & Menopur] On 10/31 I was ready for my IUI and had 4 follicles at full size. My hubby had a count of over 75M w/ a 90% Mobility after the "washing". TWW: I was keeping a log of my injections and meds, so I tracked my symptoms during my two weeks. 1dpIUI: Cramps, laid down all day w/ my legs elevated, my abdomen felt "very full" 2dpIUI: Cramps, laid down most of the day, very gassy and bloated, still had the "full feeling" 3dpIUI: Back to normal routine, still bloated and full, started Crinone 8% Gel Daily 4dpIUI: Still bloated, a few cramps off and on, very teary/emotional, also constipated [literally little turd-lets for the rest of the week] 5dpIUI: Still bloated, a few more cramps off and on, constipated, had a more to eat today - very hungry, tender breasts/nipples 6dpIUI: Same as day 5 7dpIUI: More Bloated, cramps, and seriously constipated 8dpIUI: Vivid dream - got a BFP, started urinating in the middle of the night, tender breasts/nipples, sensitive to smells today 9dpIUI: Up to urinate at night, a few cramps, very gassy and bloated [like 4mths pregnant], also a few spots on pantie liner that were light red [implantation] 10dpIUI: Up to urinate at night, painfully bloated and gassy [tried prune juice and suppository for relief], tender nipples only 11dpIUI: Very vivid dream - pregnant w/ belly!, areolas look larger today, slight relief to constipation and bloating 12dpIUI: Up to urinate at night, a few cramps, and tired in the afternoon at work 13dpIUI: Up to urinate at night, a few cramps, some slight brown spotting today [Took a $Tree Test, Very Faint Positive] 14dpIUI: Up to urinate at night, a few cramps, some slight brown spotting - BETA TEST DAY Results: 1st Beta on 11/14 - 291.9 & Progesterone >40 2nd Beta on 11/16 - 656.3 & Progesterone >40 3rd Beta on 11/21 - 7248.0 & Progesterone >40 Ultrasound at 5wks - Confirms TWINS! Things I did differently this time than in past cycles: 1. Acupuncture for Fertility - I highly recommend, worth the money! [Weekly] 2. Also took some Yoga classes and listened to the Spa Station on Pandora to stay relaxed. 3. Gave up coffee ENTIRELY - this is a biggie for me as I am a VIP Starbucks card holder. :) 4. Joined the Fertile Friends at my clinic, it matched me with someone at the same stage of treatment - THIS WAS HUGE. Very helpful to have someone to talk to and text after apts, freak outs over my injections etc! 5. Asked the hubby to come with me to all Apts/Tests. This was a great support and we both felt apart of each step. 6. Took Fish Oil and Baby Aspirin with my PreNatal Vitamin - - Daily. 7. Made sure I had 62oz of Water Daily 8. Tried to get 8-10 hours of sleep Daily 9. Requested the same nurse for each visit - this was a comfort and she knew every detail. If it's possible, it is worth the extra wait. 10. Rubbed my belly and spoke to it as if I was pregnant - keeping a positive outlook and mindset can be so hard but really critical! Ladies - I really never thought this day would come, and while I must admit I am still a little anxious to get to that 12wk mark....we are just over the moon EXCITED!! I am beginning to feel like we received an "extra" gift after waiting so long. I welcome the big belly and morning sickness with open arms!!! Your day will come, just believe it in your heart...

BFP After 2 Years, Just Found Out it is Twins

I promised myself if I ever got a BFP I’d post our story. I’ve read numerous posts on this site and they always gave me a feeling of hope. So here’s our story with as many details as I can remember. Me: 32 years old and diagnosis of anovulation and endometriosis. DH: 38 years old and diagnosis of low sperm count (which is now in the normal range after med changes and surgery) He is Type 1 diabetic and has a host of other medical issues including thyroid issues. All diagnosed in his 30s. Our Story: We’ve been married for 8 years. We were told that conceiving might be difficult since DH had so many medical things come up – and this was before I even knew I had anything wrong. I wasn’t sure if I really wanted kids so we went about living our lives enjoying every moment. Decided to go off the pill to give body a break and see what happens…. 4 years pass by and figure that it isn’t meant to be. Then I got to thinking one day (shortly before I was to leave for a ladies night of fun) that I was probably late. Take a 2 year old test on a whim and sure enough – a BFP!!! I couldn’t believe it, had to buy more tests to be sure. All natural little miracle – and we never expected it! After a very rough pregnancy with preeclampsia and early induction we have a healthy 2 year old 7 month little boy who is the joy of our lives. Right away, after his arrival I knew I wanted more, so we started down our journey for baby #2. We knew it might take a while and we tried for 6 months with no results – was charting and realized after some labs I wasn’t consistently ovulating. Sent husband in for sperm analysis and learned his sperm was really low - less than 3 million. Doctors made some changes with his meds and counts increased and I started Clomid. After 3 months, got a BFP but it ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks. Keep moving forward and completed another 5 months of Clomid and nothing then 1 month of Femera and then we were told to move to IUI. Did 4 IUIs with Folistim 100mg and it worked on our 4th try. Interestingly, we were ready to move to IVF and I was in progress of getting everything lined up. Because of the wait we figured we’d fit in one more IUI. I wasn’t expecting anything – I was so used to disappointments and kind of had it in my head IVF would be our ticket. I had spent quite a bit of time conversing with God over this “journey” and finally told him, “I know this won’t happen until you feel it’s the right time.” I shared our plan with him and asked again for his blessing. 1 more IUI and then IVF and then we’ll be at peace with what happens. Went in for my IUI. So – things I did different for the month of our BFP – exercised like crazy – I do this anyway but was training to run the Tough Mudder with my sister. I was trying like crazy to get rid of the 15lbs I’ve gained from all of this. I honestly made no positive changes (drank more, slept less, pushed myself more physically, ate worse, crazy stress at work, lots of chaos) except for the fact that started some supplements I read about on a natural fertility site my mom sent me. I was coming down with a terrible cold anyway – so I figured some extra vitamins might help. I started these about a week prior to ovulation and here’s what I took: Folic acid 400mcg, Zinc 30mg, Selenium 100mcg, Fish oil 1000mg, Vitamin B6 up to 50mg, Vitamin B12 up to 50mcg, Vitamin E 200mg, Vitamin C 1000mg, Manganese 5mg. I was taking a prenatal vitamin anyway as well as Fish Oil but the others were new. Here’s the interesting thing. I normally had 1-2 follicles each cycle on Folistim but when I went in I had 5 follicles that were developing strong. I was so surprised! In order to not cancel the cycle they triggered me a day early to bring the number of viable follicles down to 3. I’ve know my body so well after all of this I always know I’m not pregnant at least a week before I get my period. I have extremely rough cycles and terrible PMS symptoms that typically start about 7 dpo. I’m usually lining up the next month of treatment well in advance because I just know no luck and I feel miserable until I get my period. So here’s what was different this month: Day of IUI: Super crampy – much worse than other cycles. Figured it was because I had that extra egg. I prayed I’d feel better in the morning and went to bed early. Day 1 post IUI: Woke up feeling good Day 2 post IUI: No symptoms that were unusual (sore boobs and tired but that was normal) Day 3 post IUI: No symptoms that were unusual (sore boobs and tired but that was normal) Day 4 post IUI: No symptoms that were unusual (sore boobs and tired but that was normal) Day 5 post IUI: Super nauseous more than usual (something I always get with my PMS), and very crampy – just like PMS cramps but at least 4 days earlier than they always kick in. I thought maybe my body was off since they triggered me early but felt miserable most of the day.

Hope to the Ladies with Fertility Issues!!!

Heyy. I posted Saturday in 'Do You Think I’m Pregnant,' it was titled 'AF 8 Days Late, Could I Still be Pregnant??' Since posting I have had 2 BFP!!! It was also confirmed by an OB. There are a few things I forgot to mention in the post that I wanted to share now. They may be able to give a few ladies out there some hope!! I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 20 after my husband and I had 3 very unsuccessful years of ttc. I was basically told by my dr to let go of the dream of a family. I didn’t have the money for fertility treatments and had no insurance. 1.5 years later I found out I was 11 weeks and 6 days pregnant without any medical intervention. All I had done was switch to a fully raw diet, cut out tobacco and soda and exercised my butt off. June of 2010 I gave birth to a healthy beautiful little girl. Soon after, my husband and I started trying for baby #2 knowing it wouldn’t be an easy task. By December 2010 I had lost a pregnancy at 15 weeks. It crushed us so we stopped trying. April 2012 I lost another at 4 weeks. I had only found out I was pregnant 3 days earlier... once again I went to a fully raw diet, exercised my butt off and here I am today 4.5 weeks pregnant with what could very easily be twins according to my blood work. Don’t give up hope if you have PCOS!!! What is meant to happen always will when it’s the right time... I’ll keep you all posted as the pregnancy progresses.

2WW Symptoms When Pregnant with Twin Girls- Now Trying Again!

I became pregnant on our third month of trying, and I had never tracked my cycle before, so I still
wasn't completely sure of what was normal for me. I think I ovulated on CD19, and we BD on CD 16
and CD 18.

6DPO: some breast fullness and tenderness started.
10 DPO: I noticed CM changed from typical post-ovulation pasty/creamy to clear/white and more
thin creamy, reminded me of CM a few days before ovulation. However, I had noticed before this
change that I seemed to be having more CM than usual after ovulation, but it could have just been
coincidence.
12 DPO: Post-o temperatures had been running 97.9-98.2, when today jumped up to 98.4! Have
episode of pretty bad vertigo, took pregnancy test in afternoon (negative)
14 DPO: noticed urinary frequency, veins looked more noticeable on breasts, and had been having
some lower abdominal cramping and low back discomfort for a few days. Also, after having sex
and orgasm, had really strong and almost painful uterine contractions, which had never happened
before.
16 DPO: took pregnancy test in AM- positive! Temperatures had continued to run 98.2-98.4, but I
stopped temping after I got the positive.

This all happened just about a year ago. Sadly, we lost our girls at about 23 weeks, and have now
been trying again for about 5 months. Praying for a healthy baby that we get to keep.

When it happens I'll be sure to post those symptoms for y'all!

BFP w/ TWINS after almost 3yrs trying/Severe Male Factor, 1st cycle IVF w/ ICSI!

I wanted to share our story to give hope to others who may find themselves in a similar situation
as us! :) My husband and i have been together for 7 years, and TTC for the last 3 years. We never
thought we'd have any infertility issues; it came as a complete surprise to us! We are in our
early-mid 20's and completely healthy. Dr's refused to test us until we were 1yr TTC, which is
when we discovered that my husband has severe male infertility. He was diagnosed with Non-
Obstructive Azoospermia, cause is unknown bc all of his test results have always been Normal!
They said its a "One in a Million Kind of thing", his body just failed him, and he is practically
sterile. A normal man has 10-15 million sperm. My DH has 5-10 per sample, literally. However,
the few he does have are healthy, which is great, its just so strange!

Originally we were told that we would never have our own biological children, and were suggested
to use a sperm donor. We met with a new Fertility Doctor to begin the process and find out our
options, kind of like a 2nd opinion. He immediately told us that we had a pretty good chance of
success with IVF w/ ICSI w/ my husband's few sperm that he had, so we did some more tests, and
everything looked good and we decided to give it a try! At least we would know we did everything
we could before we took the next step. Our doctor said he did not think we were at the donor stage
yet, and said we should still give IVF a try, so we did.

It has been a very stressful, emotional, and difficult journey, but we have stayed strong through
faith, hope, and love. Our IVF cycle went off without a hitch! My husband had 4 frozen & 1 fresh
sperm samples ready. They retrieved 13 eggs from me, 12 of which were mature, and 6 of those
fertilized. It took them 2 of the frozen & the 1 fresh sperm sample to fertilize my eggs, but we did
it! lol We had great looking embryos and did a Day 5 Embryo Transfer. We transferred 2 embryos,
1 hatching blastocyst & another embryo which was almost at that stage catching up. Both of
great quality. The other embryos arrested, and unfortunately did not make it and stopped growing
or couldn't be frozen.

The Two-Week-Wait seemed so long! We got our 1st BFP on day 6dp5dt with an HPT! My 1st beta
was on 9dp5dt and my HCG was #137. 2 days later my beta was #317, both are great numbers! We
just had our first ultrasound to see the heartbeat at 7wks pregnant and were super excited to see
that we are blessed with TWINS!! Our doctor says it is a miracle that we got pregnant, let alone
with both embryos! I am a twin myself, and we have twins through both of our families (no
history of fertility problems though, all natural) so we are thrilled!! Miracles DO happen! :)

BFP with twins (IVF#1)

After obsessing on my 2WW symptoms for almost 2 years and reading (and rereading) others’ 2WW symptoms in desperate hope for a BFP clue it is only fair that I to share my 2ww story. First let me start by saying I am now 10 weeks pregnant with twins. Yae! After about 10 months of TTC naturally I went to an infertility specialist on the recommendation of my OBGYN. I was told to wait a year but I went after 10 months because I was so anxious to conceive. For the following year my body became a science experiment. The cause of my infertility remains unknown. I did one unsuccessful round of chlomid with an IUI followed by an unsuccessful round of injections with an IUI (and suffered OHSS). After that I had a lap procedure which did not expose a cause of my infertility, just a tiny bit of endo which was removed. Immediately after the procedure I had a chemical pregnancy conceived naturally. The only pregnancy symptom was a delayed period and cramps. My HCG and progesterone numbers never went up so that explains that. I went through 2 more months of injections, one with an IUI. Before moving to IVF I took a 4 month break and TTC naturally. No luck, however I got lucky on my 1st IVF attempt and got my long awaited BFP 8dp5det. FYI-6 embys retrieved, 2 transferred, 4 frozen. I also had assisted hatching, acupuncture treatments & I meditated. I had no pregnancy symptoms other than the symptoms caused by the fertility drugs. Less than a week later I got symptoms including very tender boobs and cramps. The symptoms increased thereafter. But I got my BFP by POAS before any symptoms became apparent.

Good luck and baby dust to all!

BFP with Twins by IVF/ICSI

I'm an ICSI success story too!

I was led to IVF due to 2 Ectopic pregnancies that left me with no tubes.

IVF#1 (ICSI): Retrieved 11 eggs; 9 were mature & 8 fertilized
Put back 1-8cell (grade B) & 1-6cell (grade B)
BETA #1 (11dp3dt): 137
BETA #2 (13dp3dt): 324
Unfortunately I m/c'd between 7-8wks

IVF#2 (ICSI): Retrieved 17 eggs; 15 were mature & 15 fertilized
Put back 1-8cell (grade A) & 1-7cell (grade A)
BETA #1 (10dp3dt): 129
BETA #2 (12dp3dt): 372
1st u/s: Twins!!

I wish you the best of luck!! My only advice is to think positive and keep your head up. The cycle really goes by fast...hang in there with the 2ww and the wait for the u/s's!!

BFP with Identical Twins (IVF cycle)

Hi! I am a success story. After trying any and every fertility treatment under the moom for 2 and 1/2 years, we decided to try IVF. I wasn't nearly as bad (all the shots) as I expected, and I didn't bloat as much as with all the other drugs. I really thought it was easy overall. Of course, it was extrememely stressfull....not knowing if it was going to take or not. I'm not sure if I remember all the details....but I'll try......They retrieved 18 eggs (yea!), but had to do an emergency ICSI. We really didn't expect that, and I cried all the way home. THey said the sperm didn't look very good, so they didn't want to take a chance of them not fertilizing the eggs. That may have been our problem all along, I don't know. Anyway, out of the 18, 11 fertilized. Four made it to blast stage, and we transferred one grade a and one grade b blast.

I really didn't think I was pg. As a matter of fact, I had no desire whatsoever to do a hpt early....for the first time in my life!! I just had no symptoms. I was so disappointed. Well, 14 dpo, I went to my doc to have a blood test done. My hcg came back at 124! Perfect for a singleton pg!! I was in shock!! They all told me it looked like one of the eggs took! We were thrilled. So, at my first ultrasound at 6w5d, we saw a gestational sac and a heartbeat. She moved the u/s wand, and we saw another heartbeat!!!! We couldn't believe it! WE had gotten pg with IDENITCAL twins....such a freak thing! No one knows what causes identicals. We knew we had a chance of having twins, but we knew they'd be fraternal b/c we had two eggs. So, what happened with me was....one egg didn't take, and the other one split! BTW....my hcg numbers just doubled each time....just like they would with one baby. The reason they weren't higher is because I just have one placenta, which produces the hcg. The babies share it. So my hcg wasn't indicative of twins. Anyway, here we are. There are some serious complications that can go along with my kind of twins, who share everything, but so far, so good. It still doesn't seem real to me. I can't believe it actually happened for DH and I.

Good luck to all of you! Try to relax, and take it easy after the transfer. We weren't allowed to bd for the whole first trimester after the transfer.

BFP with first IVF/ICSI (It's Twins!)

Hi Ladies,
Our story is a lot more mundane than most, but I might as well add it too!

TTC 7 years, finally had a laparoscopy last year (when I realised time really *was* ticking away!) and found lots of adhesions and non-repairable tubes which were removed, meaning our only hope was IVF. I have a history of immune disease and have had chronic hypertension since I had a stroke at 18.
We discovered DH had very poor sperm count and motility, so started him on a range of vitamin supplements.

First IVF w/ICSI in March:
Me 33, DH 36
Standard down regulation - .10mg of Lucrin daily. I ended up taking this for over a month because I had a large ovarian cyst that just wouldn't go away.
Stims: 225mg Puregon, plus the .10mg of Lucrin for 14 days
Result: Retrieved 14 follicles, 12 eggs fertilised, 6 made it to transfer. The two best 4-cells were transferred, the other 4 frozen.
LPS: 8% Crinone twice daily for 13 days.
2WW: Sucks! But we got a BFP! My progesterone was 220 at my first blood test, 4 days later it was 250. We recently discovered it's twins - totally unexpected. I'm 9wks pregnant.

Hope this is either helpful or vaguely interesting, and best of luck to all of you!

BFP with Twins after Injectibles Cycle

BFP with Twins:

Well I just got my BFP today after my 1st cycle on injectables. I tested BFN @8 dpo and 10dpo (I was testing to see the trigger leave my system) and I got gorgeous BFPs @12dpo in every test I tried (including OPKs).

At 10dpo I got a few drops of pink but "sticky" CM and really sharp AF pains and my bbs hurt a lot less so I thought AF was coming.

11dpo I was awaken from a deep sleep by the cramps from AF.
All day I could cry at the drop of a hat. I was SO bitchy to hubby, virtually wanting to bite his head off.
I was sweating (still am) SO much I needed to chance my t-shirt. My whole body felt SO hot but I had no fever.
I felt so dizzy (still do) I thought I would pass out and I was seeing double. I didn't really want to eat but I was hungry.

12dpo, fluttering in my left ovary which is enlarged during to OHSS. AF cramps continue but are less painful and last only a few minutes. The pain from my ovary wraps around and is more like a backache than an abdominal pain. BBS hurt more.

Generally:
I can swear the veins in my wrists are SO prounounced!
My hair is dry and wild no matter what I do. I have also grown so much more new roots and my hair in my legs grow faster.
My pee smells like male urine!! Yuck!
I am very hot and I am usually a chill-chick.
I pee every half hour no matter if I drink or not any water.
Everything smells different.
I don't crave coffee and I didn't get withdrawal headaches!! I am a coffee addict (though I only drink 2 cups a day, nothing excessive, I just looove my coffee)

What I didn't get and I almost always got in all my other cycles (this is the first time I get PG):
I didn't get the excess creamy CM I get right before AF is due. In fact I am rather dry.
I didn't get the "loose stool" I get before AF. (sorry if TMI)
I didn't get acne.

Hope this helps!! Now all I have to do is figure out how to stay PG

Many hugs to you!

About Me: Chronic annovulation probably due to high LH or as they call it, assympomatic PCOS. Tried every herb & pill & remedy, changed 3 doctors & finally got PG on my first cycle on injectables. Was very sick with OHSS but got my BFP!! CD14 shows at least 7 mature eggs. Lining 15mm on CD15. HPT (x3) on 26/3 BFP!!! Beta @14dpo 156.4 - Stick Baby!! Beta @16dpo 222, Prg 136. Beta @20dpo 1202.4!!! We have a sac and a disk @5w!! We have a heartbeat @6w2d!!! Baby measures right on target, heard heartbeat 180bpm, 11mm @7w 2d!!! U/S @8w 2d shows TWO babies!!
