2 years, 5th IUI success!

I've always had irregular periods, so I always feared that getting pregnant might be difficult. I really had no idea. Turns out I rarely ovulate on my own. We started trying to conceive in August 2014. Had no luck for several months. Started clomid in June 2015, with little success. I did manage to ovulate a couple times, but not early enough and it did not result in pregnancy. So finally in December 2015 we went to a fertility clinic and switched to letrozole + ovidrel trigger. I successfully ovulated every time, sometimes with more than 1 mature follicle, for 4 cycles with IUI. We had one chemical pregnancy. It was devastating. After that, our doctor switched me to injectibles (follistim). The first round, I overstimulated. I had several developing follicles on each ovary. The doctor recommended cancelling the cycle, to avoid the risk of high order multiples. I had no interest in becoming octomom, but it was still a difficult decision to make. We wanted to be pregnant so bad! So, at my next baseline ultrasound I was ready to try again. But unfortunately I had a large leftover follicle on one ovary, so we couldn't proceed. Doc offered birth control or go it natural to see if I would ovulate on my own. If I don't ovulate, I would take provera to start my period. So I opted for the latter. It was discouraging to have to cancel ANOTHER cycle, but it is what it is.

Finally, we got to try injectibles again, right at the end of May 2016. We did a lower dose. I only had 1 mature follicle develop, which was really disappointing. Husband had 23 million sperms post wash at the IUI, which was about average for him. We weren't really expecting much. We were already looking ahead to the possibility of IVF. The doctor put me on progesterone supplements this cycle (inserted vaginally), so I was really skeptical about any symptoms I experienced. The only thing I noticed was fatigue the second half of the TWW. I experienced a couple sharp cramps at 9dpo, but tried not to read into it.

But at 12dpo, 14 days post trigger, I was scheduled for a beta blood test. I decided to pee on a stick that morning, so get some of the anxiety out of my system. I used a Walgreens early result digital test. In less than 2 minutes, the screen popped up: Yes+. I couldn't believe it!

Later that afternoon, my beta blood test results came in. The doctor called and left a message on my phone because I was at work and in a meeting when she called. Basically, she said, "Your blood test confirms it. You're pregnant! HCG level at 98. That's a good number. Come back in a couple days for a follow-up to make sure it's doubling. Congratulations!" The last time I got a positive, with the chemical pregnancy, my HCG level was 16. So I was feeling much more optimistic. But still not ready to completely celebrate until the follow-up beta. So 2 days later, I get another blood test and then my doctor calls me in the afternoon. This time I'm ready. On a walk around the block by my office. The doctor says, "Good news. Your HCG level is at 250. Congratulations! Make an appointment 3 weeks from today for your first ultrasound."

I put the phone down and almost started crying, right there in the street. I still can't quite believe it.

I'm 17 dpo now. I've been experiencing waves of fatigue every day, although today I have quite a bit of energy. (Is it weird that I'm anxious about feeling good?)

If all goes well, we'll welcome our baby around March 3, 2017. I'm so grateful!

If you're on this journey, I suggest tracking your temperatures if you're not already, and advocating for yourself with your doctor to make sure you're getting the best care, understand what's happening, etc. It is so important to understand what's going on with your body and understand your options!

Best of luck to you!

MAYBE BABY?!?! BFP @ 9DO?! PRETTY SURE IT IS!!!

BFP after 2 years, pcos, low morphology

So I've never posted on a forum....just searched and read them for what feels like almost daily for the past 2 years and 1 month. I told myself (and I even made a promise to God and I'm not very religious) that if I get a positive I will share my story.

I have had PCOS since I was 24 (probably longer but that's when I began treatment) so I knew getting pregnant would be hard. I suffered with horrible cystic acne and was on bc and Spironolactone for like 5 years until after I got married at the age of 30. (I'm 32 now DH is too) We started trying for a baby around May 2014. My cycle was immediately out of whack after stopping bc and my skin was too. Let me add I also have Hashimotos (hypothyroid) I started researching foods and diet and decided to go Paleo. I was very strict in the beginning, eating very low card, absolutely no dairy and all grass fed meat. My period and skin improved almost immediately. My face was more clear than when I was on the pill. Let me add by saying I have Lean PCOS so I'm not overweight which actually makes things more difficult. It was very difficult to be strict but I kept with it as much as I could. I let more things into my diet but stuck with dairy free and gluten free because that kept my skin clear and cycle somewhat normal. After a while my cycle settled around 36 days being the average length, sometimes 42 days sometimes 32 days. It was difficult to track my ovulation if I didn't pee on an opk. Which was expensive month after month because I could only interpret the digital ones. After a year or so of trying my husband was tested and it came back that he had low morphology. 1% to be exact. He tested again and it went up to 3%. His counts and all other numbers were fine. Tested neg for vericicole. I tried charting, my temps were all over. We would bd everyday in the fertile week, sometimes every other day...we gave it our all every month. My obgyn told me there is nothing more she could do for me. Finally we went to a fertility specialist who told us that because of the morphology we would most likely need to do IVF. She sent us home, gave my husband some supplements which included L Carnitine Fumarite 500mg 2 pills twice a day, acetyl L carnitine 1 pill twice a day, and a pouch of emergen c each day. After 3 months he was supposed to retest his semen, and after my next period I was to begin a million tests. A month before our apt I fell pregnant. I just found out last night. I truly believe that morphology means nothing and there is hope just keep trying. This cycle I was desperate and I pulled out all the stops. I tried everything I had ever read in a forum. I used the digital opk, mucinex during my fertile week, preseed during intercourse, andI bought soft cups to insert after intercourse to keep the sperm in (which was a nightmare and I couldn't get it out for a while. We didn't get a chance to bd the day after ov but did 2 days before, the day of and two days after. I didn't think I was pregnant. I had stopped drinking coffee two months prior and my boobs didn't seem to get as sore each month anymore so sometimes they did sometimes they didn't. Leading up to now every month I felt pregnancy symptoms so I didn't even want to bother testing. What I did notice was my boobs hurt again, they hurt earlier on and never tapered off. my nipples tingled. I felt very hot and very cold. I had cold sweats at night. I felt twinges in my abdomen. I finally tested at 18dpo and received a strong two blue lines immediately. I'm Still in shock.

If I had to give any advice it would be change your diet, if you have PCOS you probably shouldn't be eating Dairy. Cut out gluten and eat low carb, sugar wreaks havoc on your ovaries. I love coffee but when I stopped drinking it my PMS symptoms all went away, and also weird pimples I would get on my neck/lower jawline. If your husband has sperm issues tell him to take the supplements listed above. And don't lose hope!!!!!!

1 year ttc (almost to the day!)

Hello everyone,

I'm so happy and excited to be here finally able to share my story. On June 12th last year my husband and I decided to start trying for a baby. We BD a couple of times and I was sure I was pregnant....then came the reality. Coming off the pill after 10 years I had forgotten my periods used to be non-existent. My hormones were no longer regulated and they were all over the place - I was all over the place.

It has been such a tough year, I've had to wake up and take responsibility for my own body. My diet has done a 360' I no longer smoke and I exercise daily....the weight dropped off and this month my BFP finally happened!

By DPO is my favourite sort of story so here goes:

CD33 I ovulated

DPO1 no EWCM today, after 8 continuous days.! BBT also raised, and mood dipped slightly so figured I had finally ovulated

DPO2-5 really bad periodic cramping and gas along with - TMI alert - snot like CM. Slightly anxious and paranoid (hormones)

DPO6 boobs start to get sore and I worry I'm out, isn't it too early for sore boobs?! But feeling very happy & balanced

DPO8 more snot like CM and cramping in the night (hoping it's a good sign!)

DPO9-10 Mega thirsty. More yellowy discharge with tinges of brown.

DPO11 Now mega hungry! Getting lower backache, again worry I might be out...nipples still sore and is it my imagine or appear bigger...?

DPO12 Positive on FRER the line was so beautifully pink I was so happy!

DPO13 tested again on Clearblue get a 'pregnant 1-2'

Good luck to everybody reading this, these stories are what kept me going through the lonely, dark times, I'm glad to be able to share my experience oxoxox

Pcos 34 TTC 18 months.. Praise the Lord!

I had been stalking this board so I wanted to share a success story! I was diagnosed with PCOS and had done a few months of femera with metformin without success. My husband and I decided to take a break from the fertility specialist. I continue taking the metformin. This past Friday I was a week late from getting my period. My cycles are around 35 days so I decided to take a test. It was just a dollar store cheap test but it came back with a light light second line. I decided not to tell my husband until I knew for sure. That day I called my doctor to get a blood test. They called me at 4 p.m. and my HCG came back at 78! She said you were pregnant! I am beyond thrilled! And so thankful. Lord's timing is so much better than mine! Praising Him for this beautiful gift he has put inside of me. I called the fertility office I hadn't been to in a few months and told them what was going on they were thrilled and said sometimes it just happens this way! Praying for all you ladies still going through this journey I know it is hard but there are all things He is teaching us along the way! This article encouraged me http://www.crosswalk.com/faith/women/biblical-encouragement-for-couples-waiting-to-conceive-11608040.html lots of truth in it!

Miracle BFP

I am so excited to be submitting my BFP story. My hope is that it will encourage someone else that may be going through what I and my DH have gone through. I am 35 and DH is 42. We have been trying to concieve for years with no success. This year, we decided to see a new RE and start over, since our past attempts did not work. I have PCOS, and do not ovulate without assistance, and DH has no issues. After having my cycles regulated by Meformin, I was able to move forward with Letrozole on days 3-7. Clomid did not work for me in the past, so my new dct prescribed Letrozole.
For months we tried TI, but decided after the last BFN cycle we would move on to the IUI. I am so thrilled to report that after only 1 IUI, we recieved our BFP today!!
Before testing, I had no sypmtoms. In fact, I had already began planning for IUI #2. I decided to POAS on a whim, because I wanted to see if the trigger was out of my system. Because I was soooo shocked about the + test, I went to the RE also for a BETA test today. The blood test confirmed that I am indeed pregnant! I am so excited and grateful that our dream is a reality. It truly is a miracle. It has been very challenging going through fertility treatments, but very well worth it. I want to encourage other women faced with PCOS or any other concerns to stay positive and know that IT CAN HAPPEN! Trust, believe, and keep the faith. Trust that your prayers will be answered. Its still early for me, and I'm still praying, but to know that after 4 years of BFN to get a BFP is a victory! Baby Dust to all of you and GL :-)!

BFP dpo 10 after first cycle of Letrozole + CoQ10!

So excited to have my BFP! My husband and I have been TTC for 6 months now with a miscarriage in week 6 of our second month of trying. I have high levels of estrogen naturally, and my cycles are typically 36-42 days long. My doctor prescribed me Letrozole (femara) to take on CD 3-7. I took a Letrozole pill each night, 2.5mg daily dosage. Felt fine overall with no side effects except drowsiness which wasn’t too bad since I took it before bed anyway. Also, a friend of mine undergoing fertility treatment says her doctor swears by 1200 mg CoQ10 vitamins, so I’ve been taking that each day, too, beginning at CD 1. I ovulated at CD 15.

1 DPO: no real symptoms, BBT still low/normal
2 DPO: BBT rose, confirming ovulation as I expected about +0.5 degrees F. Had some cramping and bloating.
3 DPO: Had some sinus soreness, felt tired.
4 DPO: bloating, minor tugging feeling in my lower abdomen; I’m assuming this was the beginning of implantation.
5 DPO: bloated again, and very minor tugging feeling in my lower abdomen again. No implantation bleeding like I had 4 months ago when I was pregnant but miscarried.
6 DPO: more bloating, no cramping but minor indigestion/constipation.
7 DPO: bloating. Had my blood drawn to test my progesterone levels. Very thirsty.
8 DPO: bloating, thirsty. Progesterone levels came back great at 21 ng/ml (doctor said anything from 15 to 25 is great for supporting pregnancy in the uterine lining. Felt good about these results!
9 DPO: Some breast soreness in the evening, thirsty most of the day even though drinking plenty of water. I shrugged it off thinking that if my breasts were sore again tomorrow then I’ll take a pregnancy test.
10 DPO: Woke up feeling okay in the morning and decided to delay taking the HPT. Went to a friend’s bbq, and had extremely sore breasts by the late afternoon. Went home and took a HPT and got my BFP!!! I used the Clear Blue Easy with Weeks Estimator and it said I was 1-2 weeks since ovulation, which is right on.

It’s still very early at this stage, as of today I’m CD 33, DPO 18. I’m trying to contain my excitement since I miscarried at CD 37-40 last time. It feels better this time with my symptoms getting stronger each day (ie more breast soreness, more food cravings, and I’m even welcoming the mood swings!). Also, I started spotting around CD 35 last time and had implantation bleeding, but haven't had any of that this time. Fingers crossed that it all goes well!

Rainbow/Clomid baby on his way!

I have PCOS and insulin resistance.
My husband an I ttcd for 16months and of the last 4 months of that I was taking 1500mg metformin and finally fell pregnant with our beautiful daughter Matilda. At 40+1 she was stillborn due to an umbilical cord accident.. Thus beginning our journey to getting our rainbow baby.

6dpo - sore nipples
