BFP with Spotting

I'm 39, PCOS, DH 44 low mot. We have one daughter and she is 16 months....I ovulated on my own; however, I was in the best physical shape I've been in forever. We've been TTC since October 2012 with no success....I wasn't ovulating even though I got positive LH surges every month. Decided to see a fertility specialist....he almost convinced us to go straight to IVF.....I left the off dead set on it....scheduled the appointment paid $9000 dollars to secure the procedure and over the next 2 days I did not feel good about my decision so I cancelled and lost $500 for administrative fees....which was ok because the idea of the procedure did not sit well with me. So we decided to do the IUI first. On cd 3, 2/26/13, I started 100iu of follistim pen. On cd6 went in for u/s and blood work....they called back with labs and told me to increase to 150iu. More u/s and labs every 2 days until cd 13. On cd14 3/9/2013 I took the norvarel hcg trigger and on cd16 3/11/2013 we did the IUI with 2-18mm follies an 1-14mm and 16 million washed sperm. The 2ww was excruciating. I took a HPT 7 day post IUI BFN....wanted to see if the hcg was still in my system. On Friday 3/22/2013, I took a HPT BFP....then I took about 6 more until I went for labs on Monday...took both a quan and qual hcg both positive....quan was 264.90 and progesterone 27. 2 days later beta was 747 and two days after that (today) 3/29/2013 beta is 1467. First u/s scheduled for 4/8/2013. I'm so excited. Things are looking good....I wish you all the best!!! More info to follow....super curious as to how many eggs were fertilized!

I'm still getting used to this idea. In fact, I have not yet told anyone except my DH! We were TFTC for 3 cycles.
A couple weeks ago I submitted an "am I pregant" story. My cycles the last 5 months have been pretty regular between 32 and 34 days. I'm not 100% sure when I O'd but a good guess based on timing and CM would be March 13/13.
1-5 dpo no symptoms
5-7 dpo very gassy (I don't normally get any Pms symptoms so this was a little weird. I also had suttle waves of nausea. My bb's did not show significant changes however I had sort of a tingling on and off throughout a couple days. Also a "full" feeling around uterus.
9 dpo brown spotting and some nausea
10 dpo burgundy red bleeding. Not a ton but really thought AF was making an early appearance.
11 dpo some residue from blood and when checking cervix notice some coagulated blood (sorry tmi) but I know some might find that helpful as I thought "clots" were a really bad thing.
12 dpo no bleeding took a hpt=neg
13dpo suttle cramping. Felt like the beginning of AF, no blood. Hpt=neg was using life brand.
14 dpo day of expected period. Went to Dr. Test=neg!! I was thinking I was making everything up and going crazy.
15 dpo (yesterday) bought expensive tests (1st response) BFP!!! Almost immediately. I took 2. Then a dollar store pregnancy test. ALL were BFP. I did it in the afternoon as I didn't have any in the AM for FMU.

I have been a regular reader of TWW and have enjoyed and been inspired by others stories so I thought I would share mine. I have two beautiful children DD 5 and DS 3 and my DH and I decided to try for a 3rd even though I am now 41. Both my previous pregnancies were textbook.

First month trying I was 10dpo and I started spotting (I was hoping it was implantation bleeding as I never have an irregular cycle). I thought I was probably out that month but then my AF didnt start properly, just red spotting, more than implantation but not AF so I waited to the day my AF was due and did a pregnancy test - BFN. My husband asked me the next morning the result and as the test was sitting on top of my bathroom bin I pulled it out and said see negative, but it was now positive. I did another test straight away and it was two dark lines immediately - BFP. I was still bleeding though. Long story short it ended in miscarriage 5 days later.

I had heard that you are more fertile right after a miscarriage so we decided we would try again immediately. I had an ultrasound to make sure all ok and we were clear to go ahead. I did a test 10dpo as I couldnt wait (I had had some really early symptoms so was hopeful). I got a very faint BFP. I didn't want to get my hopes up and then the very next day I started bleeding again. Same as the first month. I couldn't believe I had conceived again the very next month and that it was going the same way. Again a long story short I miscarried on New Year's Day. I ended up in the emergency room with excessive bleeding but I was fine, just one big rush and it was done. I was pretty miserable. I also had to have an Anti D injection as I am rhesus negative which I missed after the first miscarriage. Not likely in these early stages any blood would have mixed but very good to be safe.

My DH and I decided we might wait a month or so before trying again. I saw my Obstetrician a week or so after and he gave me an ultrasound to check everything was clear and he told me that I was about to ovulate from my right side this month. Which was weird as I had ovulated the last two months on my left side (two in a row on one side is possible) I knew that both my DD and DS had come from my right ovary so I was disappointed we would miss this month "in case it was my good side". When I knew I was about to ovulate I spoke to DH and he said lets just keep trying so we did and again I conceived, third month in a row. I started brown spotting again 11dpo which turned to red spotting the next day with a BFP on my test. I was so angry this time and actually yelled at my body telling it that this was not acceptable and I was in control and I was just not having another miscarriage. I spotted for 2 days and then it started to stop. I went straight to the doctor and had my hcg level taken, 34 - BFP confirmed. The spotting stopped. 2 days later I had another bleed, quite a bit and red this time and I thought it was all over but again after spotting for another day after it stopped. I went to the doctor every 3 days to check my hcg and I watched it doubling or even tripling exactly as it should. A few days later I had one more day of spotting, just brown this time, and then no more. Heartbeat was found at 6wks via ultrasound and today I had my 12 week scan and the little one is just perfect!

I did do a few things differently this month. I ate pineapple core for 5 days right after ovulation. I took vitamin B6, B12, Multi, CoQ10, Vit C, B Complex plus Blackmores Conception Vitamins daily leading up to ovulation then switched to Pregnancy and Breastfeeding after ovulation.

One other interesting thing is I have had hardly any symptoms. Nothing like my first two healthy pregnancies. I had very slight sore BB's but not so I was sure it was a sympton and I felt tired for a few days in the afternoon a little more than normal at about 7 weeks. I really havent "felt" pregnant. But I definitely am as I saw with my own eyes today a little bundle happily kicking around and wiggling inside me. I guess every pregnancy really is different.

Second month after copper IUD was removed, I am 36, third pregnancy. First month of TTC and I never tried with my other two (suprises) and so this whole TWW thing was new to me. And man it's emotionally exausting...I feel bad for all of us, it's not easy wondering and waiting.
A lot of my symptoms are usual PMS things, but not necessarily ones that I typically get. What was most obvious was my crying spells, I don't usually get sappy during PMS, more likely to be snappy/depressed.

I used OPK's and timed intercourse every night of my fetile week, but stopped on O day.

Pre ovulation I did have pain on my right side and then left (I always get this during Ovulation).

DPO 0: Nothing
DPO 1-2: Nothing
DPO 3: Awoke in the middle of the night with intense pain on right side, felt like ovulation pain but I know now that I ovulated 2 days before this. Then during the day I also felt the same pain but this time on left side
DPO 4: One zit, runny nose
DPO 5: One blob of yellow CM, bloated, achey and runny nose
DPO 6: Runny nose, burping like crazy
DPO 7: Took a nap, and cried during Wreck it Ralph 3x - thinking this was PMS
DPO 8: BFN, (took FMU) implantation day, brownish pink d/c, yawning, bad cramps today on right side, then swittched to left (twins???)
DPO 9: Yellow blob on tissue, breasts zing a couple of times
DPO 10: Runny nose, no cramps, huge increase in CM - one blob was yellow and stretchy, BFN. Cried several times today, once after reading a story about a dad feeling guilty about being too hard on his son, and again when I thought for sure I was NOT pregnant and just having a really bad cycle and my hormones were off. Just super emotional and clingy. Also my belly itched, like when I was pregnant before and the skin was stretching, seems WAY too early for that, omg.
DPO 11: VERY VERY faint positive using FMU and FRER 6 days sooner. It's faint but it is there and showed up at 3 mins, or before. I took another one (differnt brand) with the same FMU I collected and it took longer to show but also had the faintest line. This was a dollar store brand and seems like they would be less sensitive but maybe not.

Today some nausea after taking vitamins.

I plan to take another test tonight and tomorrow AM. Cautiously excited, as the line is so faint. But still excited!

Hey guys I thought I'd share my TWW with you and what I had symptom wise although I have to say I didn't have much, so for all those who don't think they have any it could still be a positive outcome so here goes.

DPO1-8 - Not a lot really, temp was slightly up.
DPO9 - BB's were not sore only nipples were slightly sensitive the usual I get before my AF, but it only usually lasts 1 day or 2 then goes away
DPO10 - Nipples still sore not really any other signs
DPO11 -12 - Nipples still sensitive, however I had brown discharge I thought my AF was coming I had period like cramps
DPO 13- Nipples still sensitve. AF due tomorrow but no brown discharge - did a test - BFP!!!!!!!!!!! :) had to do 2 tests, I did the tests early morning before work.
Since then my BB's are not sore nor are my nipples, I have had a bit of emotion, crying over stupid things and I've had nights where I have been in bed at 8pm! But I have also had 2 nights of not being able to sleep, cramps are still on and off but nothing severe and no bleeding!!! I had a 5 week scan and will have another at week 6 to check progress. But so far so good! :)

I have been actively trying since my miscarriage last July and finally got my BFP yesterday. 8 cycles!!! Although I didn't get a proper period until October after my D&C.

So I was positive AF was on her way I even had pink tinged discharge a couple day before period was due so I thought, great! This month is out. I had used clearblue fertility moniter and did the deed on the right days so was hugely disappointed. But it never progressed to a period and symptoms became stronger ie: sore boobies, lower backache, bloating, gas. I get all of this right before my period as well so I held out and waited to see if af would show her ugly face. Finally I took a test and it was immediately positive. So crazy that pms symptoms are exact same as pregnancy. I didn't have any spotting with my first pregnancy until I was miscarrying so this was definietly different. Am elated beyond belief but at the same time nervous and scared that this one survives. Praise God!

Hi all! I've been hanging out on this website for about a week since I've started to get strange "signs" from my body. I thought it was all in my head, but it was so hard to not get obsessed! So I thought I'd share my experience, maybe some of you will find it useful. If you don't want to read the whole thing, here are my major early symptoms - implantation spotting on 10-12 dpo and cramps after orgasm (NEVER happened before).

So, my husband (29) and I (27) have not officially started ttc, but I stopped taking BCP's after the new year's to watch my cycle for a few months. I'd been on BCP's for over 7 years, so I thought it would take a while for things to get back to normal. We've been using condoms meanwhile, and "pulling out" occasionally (but once! and it just happened to be a few hours before I felt ovulation cramps..). The strange thing is, I think I felt the whole process!

0dpo - Ovulation cramps on left side (dull pressure for a few hours, then sharp for a few seconds before it stopped). It happened on cd11, 3 days earlier than my cycle app predicted based on a 28 day cycle.
8dpo - Got a pap smear
10dpo - Pink spotting and cramps after sex. I thought it may have happened because of the pap smear 2 days ago. About 2-3 nights before that I felt a localized pinching pain on one side of my uterus (or at least where I think it is). Not sure when it happened exactly, but I remember thinking through my sleep that this is a baby implanting :) In the morning, of course, I thought that that was ridiculous :)
11-12 dpo - Light brown spotting. For the first time ever I felt cramping after orgasm (sorry if that's tmi, but that was the weirdest thing after which I started to google IB and other pregnancy symptoms).
12-13 dpo - Mild lower back pain on one side which lasted for a few hours each day (which I also never get). Some breast sensitivity, nothing too major and it's been happening ever since I stopped BCP's.
14-16 dpo - "Bubbling" and warm sensation in lower abdomen, feeling "wet" down there (sorry, tmi). I kept checking for AF until the tests arrived today and one turned out to be a BFP! (I am not imagining it, right? :) ) Just hoping now that things go well, and freaking out a little bit at the same time :)

Wow I'm pregnant!!!!!
I am 31 and DH is 33. I had been on BCP since I was 18 and was not too sure what to expect being off of it.
I ended up having 3 m/c within 7 months of coming off the pill. Each was the same- extreme nausea and bloating, no spotting or sign of AF, temp would stay high. Then between 6 - 9 weeks I would have heavy bleeding. Each doc confirmed it was a m/c however with each one I never got a bfp.
This is how this how this month was different...
DH and I bd'd on both "peak" days and high day after that (I was using CBFM).
1-4 DPO nothing
5-6 DPO heaving spotting with lots of clots (I am super upset tell DH we are out again)
6-10 DPO bbs are so sore. Nipples feel like they are on fire and both breasts feel really bruised
10 DPO do $store test with evening urine- faint faint line
11 DPO FMU as DH if he can see line- he says its faint but def there. Do CB digital in afternoon and BFP 1-2!!!!!!
Since then bbs have gotten WAY more sore and CM is VERY heavy.
I am soooo excited!

I had a chemical pregnancy last month. It was the first month hubby and I had tried for our second baby, and I think the egg had trouble implanting. This month I took baby Aspirin starting at ovulation and also took extra Vitamin B, in addition to my prenatal vitamins. I really think the Aspirin made the difference! I took it the month I got preggo with my first baby but never knew until now how much it mattered. I plan to keep taking it unless my OB says to stop.

Because I had a chemical last month, I don't know when I ovulated. I had ov cramps 3/5 but I'm not sure if those come before or after ovulation. Hubby and I BD'd 2/28, 3/1, 3/2, 3/3, 3/4, and 3/6.

I tested 3/13 and 3/14 and got BFNs both times. Got my BFP today 3/17. Much stronger than last month and came up right away! Soooo excited!

Here were my symptoms:
-7ish-9ish dpo? Nausea. It came and went and was very much like last month.
-Somewhere between 2-8 dpo - sleepiness!!! Fell asleep early two nights in a row.
-One night I had insomnia. NEVER happens to me!
-Horrible nerve pain in my arm one night, woke me up, thought I was dying.
-Definitely peeing more! Peeing ALL THE TIME.
-One night I had a headache.
-VERY emotional. MUCH more than last month when I had my chemical. Raging, sobbing.... Kind of insane!
-Toward end of TWW I started getting very, very, very thirsty.
-Cravings.
-Fuller boobs, with more blue veins and occasional stinging pains.
-More frequent hunger pains than usual.
-Occasional mild cramping, but unlike chemical last month, NO spotting with the cramps!
-Occasional backache.
-Cervix closed.
-Pinkish CM after sex, probably due to taking baby Aspirin. Also saw some gel-like goop after sex... not my norm!
-Things felt tighter down there during sex, and hubby noticed this.
-MUCH FULLER BOOBS were my most consistent sign, the only thing that kept me going. My boobs are porn star boobs. I am usually a small B cup. You can't explain that with PMS!
-Having spotting one day followed by three days w/o spotting was also a big sign.
-Contacts started getting dry around 7 p.m. each night and I had to change to glasses, just like when I was preggo w/ my son. Normally I sleep in my contacts.
-Occasional hot flashes.
-Really strong orgasms.
-Vagina lips look slightly blue. My great-grandmother, born in 1912, told me this was a sign in her time, and the only other time I had this was when preggo w/ my son!
-Tummy poking out a bit! Feel like I will show pretty soon this time.

July 2011 me and DH discovered we were pregnant after 3 months of trying, I was amazed it had all happened so quick! However I MC at 6 weeks. The hardest thing I have ever been through, DH couldn't understand as 'We can always try again" and after nearly 2 LONG years I finally have my BFP story to share with you, I hope you find this helpful and I wish you all the best of luck!!!

30th January - 1st day of LMP

CD14 - DH away with work counting self out this month as normally O either today or tmoz
CD 15 - DH still away :(
CD 16 (suspected ovulation day) - DH home so DD ;)

8DPO - 12DPO - Toothache in front teeth, backache, TIRED!!! and little tender breasts
12DPO - Everything fine, felt fantastic this morning (so good in fact I decided to go to the gym!) got home from the gym to discover light spotting in knickers!!!
13DPO - Heavy cramps and nausea (waiting 2-3 days to test but getting excited!)
15DPO - Cramps so bad thought AF was making an appearance! decided to test (1-2 days late not out of the ordinary for me)
Tested and got BFN
16-19 DPO - Nausea, tender breasts, tired and back twinges (worried about missing period but convinced self it was due to stress)
20DPO - Got cold, runny nose - the works! Cramps and general run down feeling (still no period, convinced stress and being unwell have held her off)
25DPO - Couldn't eat anything, thought of food making me heave, dizzy because had so little to eat, DH very worried and asks me to take another test (do not want to see another BFN as always crush me and already feeling like death)
26DPO - Finally give in to DH and take test first thing, do my bizz, put test on bath side, brush teeth n go to brush hair (so convinced it would be a BFN!) go back into bathroom and check BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!! scream of husband who runs in to find me dancing round the bathroom!!!

For the last few days I have hardly been able to manage anything more than fruit, had terrible cramps and have slept 10-12 hours a night! I am so happy/nervous. I feel so stupid explaining my symptoms away but the thought of another BFN was awful :(
