Exactly 12 Months of Trying, 1st IUI w/ Femara, Low Count, Success!

Here's my story to help others still in the process. It'll happen, just keep doing what you're doing.

Husband and I both are 31. Got off BC February of last year. Like many others I naively thought we'd conceive right away. In my excitement, I blabbed about it to everyone which later backfired as I kept being asked. Pro tip: Keep it to yourself if you can!

For the first three months off BC I didn't get my period which was very unnerving. Finally got it, after some acupuncture and vitex, and kept trying. Started temping- never got a clear chart. Gave up on temping. Tried ovulation tests which were hit or miss. More acupuncture. More BFNs. Cycles erratic. I exercise regularly, drink infrequently and in moderation, and started taking supplements like bee pollen, spirulina, B12, Vitamin D, baby aspirin. Friends got pregnant by blinking, had babies, talked breastfeeding and whatever, while I carried on living that BFN life.

In November I went to a specialist, was told I have mild PCOS i.e. I don't ovulate every month. Husband's count perfect. Started monitoring. Then December took Clomid which made me crazy and found out made my lining very thin. January Femara, BFN. Then February we decided to go forward with IUI with Femara because why not? Insurance covered it.

Trigger shot the day before then the morning of IUI my husband's count was at 2.9 million which the doctor told us was very low. They did it anyways, offering for us to go for second IUI at their other location an hour away the next day if we wanted to. We decided against it (didn't want to make it more stressful than necessary.) Evening of IUI I had a beer at a friend's birthday and then we had sex that night and again the next afternoon. Doc had me take estradriol to support lining.

Because of the low count I was pretty sure it was a no go this month. On top of that I had practically no symptoms (while other months I was CONVINCED we had conceived because I'd be feeling everything: sore breasts, tingling nipples, bloating, pulling, etc.) All I felt this month was like my period was about to start the entire week before the day it was due and I was PMSy af.

So:
DPO 1-7 nothing but some creamy CM
DPO 8 - very faint blood after sex. Mild cramping.
DPO 9 - Got anxious, took test, BFN. Mild period-like cramping.
DPO 10 - PMS, crabby, barely tinted CM, little watery CM
DPO 12 - PMS, slight sharpness behind bellybutton, wet but no spotting (CD27, day before period due.)
DPO 13 - PMS cramps. Sex, no spotting. Period due.
DPO 14 - Dark blown/black blood, not full flow. Figured it was my period, used tampon. Disappointed, drank a glass of wine with dinner, a beer later on in the evening. Later in the night realized something was up when tampon was practically clear. Hello implantation bleeding?
DPO 15 - Took cheapie wondfo test first AM urine. Couldn't believe I was seeing a second line for the first time ever. BFP! Took two more cheapies later in the day, both positive.
DPO 16 - And another, BFP.
DPO 17 - FRER two lines right away.
DPO 18 - Blood test at doctor's office. Confirmed!

Relieved and hoping the next part goes smoothly. We haven't told anyone yet as we're both still stunned. Also gonna work on the whole keeping it to myself thing for a while until we learn a little more about how this pregnancy is going. But thanks for letting me at least share here, anonymously, with all of you!

I know it's tough and can be a real mind-fuck with each passing month. Just remember you're a person first with interests, good qualities, and other attainable goals and that (hopefully) you and your partner like each other for reasons other than just becoming parents together. Good luck out there.

BFP cycle #3

When OH and I decided to start trying for a baby, I reliased how little we knew about TTC. Then I found this site and couldn't go a day without checking out BFP stories. I found all your stories inspirational and helpful so I would like to do the same.

I used Ovia app to record my data, started using OPKs on cycle #2 and started taking bbt on cycle #3.

As I was certain cycle #2 was our month until AF arrived. I was concerned that I was not ovulating and not producing fertile mucus so on cycle #3 I went all out. I started taking Conception Pregnacare (previously took Original version); took evening primrose oil (my CM became watery before +OPK which never happened on my previous cycles but not seen ewcm) and took my bbts every morning.

Ovulated CD11- opk and bbt dip confirmed
DPO 1-2 sore nipples
3- sore nipples, flu/cold symptoms (suspected ovulation symptoms)
4-5 sore nipples, twinges on my left pelvis
6- dry skin, increasing amount of creamy cm
7-10 dull aches and pulling sensation on my lower abdomen
11- spotty, notices my temp creep up (possibly triphasic shift)
12-13 bloated, temp stayed elevated, spotty face and back, flu/cold symptoms (I started to suspect pregnancy, I read that OPKs could pick up hcg- both days positive). On dpo13 I bought a Poundland hpt and thought to have seen a shadow line, still not convinced.
14- temp highest it's ever been I was ready to take another hpt with FMU but before I took the test I noticed brown blood as I wiped. I was heartbroken!
I felt dizzy, body ached and had flu/cold like symptoms in work. I couldn't understand why my temp did not decrease and +OPKs on luteal phase. It must be implantation bleeding so I bought a Superdrug Value pack during lunchtime, it was BFP!!!
My OH suggested to do another test with a good hpt that same evening, First Response gave a very obvious BFP :) OH triple checked!

Just in time for the OH 30th birthday and now we face the dilemma of when to tell our peers, especially when we go on holiday with his family in 2 weeks time and I would have to refuse a glass of wine for the whole trip that will raise suspicion lol

Finally BFP!!!!!

Omg!! I cannot believe I finally made it! I know 7 months doesn't seem like a long time but for me it was an eternity! I felt like I was broken somehow, (even though yes, I know infertile women are not necessarily "broken") I even made a fertility appointments for the month of March! I wasn't keeping track because I had somewhat given up hope, and thought whenever it happens it will happen:) I believe I got my BFP at 9dpo???

Here are my symptoms!:

Ovulation day I was nauseas and spotting. I knew to baby dance. We had been like crazy but I made extra sure to the day of and day after for 3 days.

Through the two week wait I felt:

Stuffy nose

Watery eyes

Sneezing constantly- like 60 times in a day! I couldn't make it stop for the life of me lol

Slight cramping-not like period cramps, beat lighter.

Very tired!! I cannot stress enough! And I knew exactly when because usually bedtime is 9:30 to 10:00 and I was so sleepy at 7:30 0.O

Agitated and easily annoyed/moody

Not a symptom: And last but not least very family oriented....looking up how to make cloth diapers, watching family videos on YouTube etc etc...

Cervical mucus:
Regular medium amount until about 5 days after I thought was ovulation and then increased. I had a huge amount. It was egg white still and stretchy. Then when I got my BFP, it was like water, constantly felt wet and it was milky white.

So that's it!! That is my BFP:):):):

Still in shock!

I had to share my news since I was always scrolling through these stories looking for hope! After 16 months of TTC and 1 failed IUI. I just got my first ever BFP from my 2nd IUI with Letrozole.

This was my first month since we started trying to conceive that I stopped basal temping after confirming ovulation. It really helped me to not over analyze everything! I didn't even Google IUI stuff this time around! And it really helped take the stress off.

Anyways, on 14dpiui I woke up with a couple bright pink spots when I wiped and thought FOR SURE I was getting my period so I cried and cried. Then I had a little brown spotting throughout the day but my full on period never came! I thought for sure I'd wake up the next morning with cramps and the whole shabang but nothing but a tiny tiny amount of brown discharge. I really didn't want to take a test though because I was so afraid and really thought my period was coming! But yesterday morning, 16dpiui, when I woke up with still no period, I took my first test and got my BFP! I couldn't believe it! And today is my birthday! So it was a great early birthday present! I went in for blood work today so I'm hoping everything looks good and it sticks!

For those of you who have been trying for what seems like an eternity, don't lose hope. It will happen!

Unexpected but very welcome BFP!

I want to share my BFP story as visiting these boards is what's kept me sane these last few months! I can't quite believe it....After swearing I was pregnant 3 months ago (our first month of TTC) here I am today with a totally unexpected BFP!!

We followed the SMEP plan, used pre-seed and CB advanced digital OPKs. Missionary position only, and I stayed lying down for 15 mins after BD'ing.

I read 'Making Babies' and 'Taking Charge Of Your Fertility' which I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone TTC. It only took 1 month after making the suggested changes, using pre-seed and OPKs to get my BFP!

I basically had no symptoms at all, and had spotting on day 26 which I thought was AF, but was only a few drops, so I assume this was late-ish implantation bleeding. I also had a BBT drop on day 26 which made me think for sure I wasn't pregnant, but it shot back up today, the day I got my BFP (day 28/DPO 14) - the day of my missed period. I've had some mild cramping and 'pulling' in the abdomen, but I thought these were just signs AF was coming, but apparently not!

I have a history of hormonal issues, adrenal fatigue and really bad PMS, so anyone out there with these issues, please have hope!!

Wishing you all baby dust!

BFP 6 months after MC

Yesterday (2/6/16) I officially confirmed that I am pregnant with First Reponse Early Response (FRER) dye AND digital tests. I am thrilled, anxious and still in a little bit of disbelief! But I wanted to make sure I wrote down and shared my experience this cycle -- hopefully it will help someone else, or even myself in the future.

I had an early miscarriage last August. After that, I downloaded the “Clue” app and started tracking my cycle each month. My cycles were very irregular at first, but in the past few months they have become somewhat more predictable. This was only my second cycle using OPKs.

Last cycle was 28 days, with a 10ish day luteal phase. So I was expecting the same this month. I didn’t end up ovulating until much later in my cycle though.

CD19: Unprotected sex; negative OPK
CD20: Negative OPK
CD21: Negative OPK (at this point, I was thinking maybe ovulation wasn’t in the stars for this cycle)
CD22: Positive OPK in the evening (woo! I almost didn’t even test today because I was feeling so discouraged after a string of negatives); globular, watery CM (almost like I peed myself); unprotected sex after seeing positive OPK
CD23: Another positive OPK; more unprotected sex; small twinges in my pelvic area that I assumed were ovulation cramps
CD24: Unprotected sex; OPK back to negative (according to Clue, this was my actual ovulation day)
CD25: Tender breasts; negative OPK
CD26: Tender breasts
CD27: Unprotected sex; watery CM; bloated/gassy; face broke out a little bit (usually happens leading up to period)
CD28: A little nauseous; skin not looking great; took a HPT because I’m crazy (obviously it was negative)
CD29: Had a GYN appointment
CD30: Went to the bathroom mid-morning and had some very light brown discharge/spotting on my pantyliner and a little more went in the toilet when I peed; I chalked this up to my pap smear the day before… now I think this was definitely implantation bleeding!
CD31: Negative HPT; skin back to normal
CD32: Negative HPT in the AM; squinter in the evening before I went to bed (Wondfo brand); tender breasts throughout the day (they were especially sore when I first woke up in the morning); very tired at work
CD33: Mind was racing all night; took another Wondfo test at 2 am… a very, very faint line showed up again. To see if it was an evap line, I dipped another test in water and it was stark white. I took a few more Wondfos over the next few hours. One was stark white (my pee was probably just not concentrated enough from going so much!), but another had the faint line. Ended up going to CVS to pick-up a FRER digital/dye test package AND the CVS digitial (generic version of Clear Blue Digital). Dipped the tests in the same urine I used for the faint positive Wondfo earlier. Got negatives on the CVS tests but CLEAR POSITIVES on both the FRER tests! I’ve read that FRER is much more sensitive, so I am 100% confident these are my BFPs. I will probably retest with the Clear Blue or CVS brand in a few days when my hcg has a chance to rise. Took another Wondfo a couple hours after getting the FRER positives just for peace of mind, and the line is definitely getting darker. Other symptoms: felt a little nauseous in the morning, and my breasts have been very tender all day (even a bit sore around my ribs right under my right boob). I’m currently wearing a sports bra, and it’s uncomfortable.
Just like my last pregnancy, the sore boobs were really the first symptom. Clue was predicting that my period would start on CD35, so the FRER showed results two days before my missed period (~9 dpo). Wondfo gave me a squinter three days before my missed period (~8 dpo).
CD34: BFP with CB Digital

I really hope this one sticks. Appreciate any prayers/positive thoughts you can send our way! I’m calling my doctor on Monday to schedule my first appointment. Hopefully I’ll be able to get in sooner than the standard eight weeks. I don’t think I can wait that long to know what’s happening in there!

Still can't quite believe it!

My DH and I have been TTC since November of last year, so this would be our third cycle - and we are now pregnant with our first! I'm so thrilled and excited and just crossing my fingers that everything goes well and this babe is healthy.

1-7 DPO: No symptoms really. Some indigestion here and there but didn't really think anything of it. Some tingling in my boobs but that's not too uncommon for me after ovulation.

8DPO: Went to the bathroom early in the morning and had some pink spotting (quite a bit, actually!). Implantation bleeding?

9DPO: Spotting continued but was much less in quantity and was brown. Indigestion. Sore boobs.

10DPO: Spotting continued in the morning and then slowly stopped by afternoon. I was tempted to take a HPT but convinced myself to wait until the next morning so there would be at least 3 days between the time I first started spotting (I read that's the average that most women get a BFP after spotting). Still have indigestion after eating and super tingly boobs.

11DPO: BFN. I took a FRER, IC, and Clearblue Plus. The FRER and IC were stark white - the Clearblue Plus actually had a light blue plus sign but it was so light that I took it to be an evap line. I then spent the rest of the morning googling the statistics of evaps on Clearblue plus pregnancy tests and they are apparently SO common that I convinced myself it meant nothing. I had some sharp (take your breath away type) cramps that night at work (I work from 7p-7a). Convinced that AF was right around the corner.

12DPO: Indigestion and tingly boobs continue. Spent all day (or so it felt) obsessing over the fact that I hadn't gotten a BFP the day before and researched whether or not I could still get a BFP after BFN on 11DPO. Really grumpy that evening, frustrated with the fact that I wasn't pregnant yet. More sharp cramps that evening.

14DPO: This was the day before AF was supposed to arrive. I woke up and wrestled with myself on whether or not I should take another pregnancy test and in the end decided that I'd take the chance of another disappointment. I took another Clearblue plus (I had one left, so I thought why not?), FRER, and IC. BFP ON ALL THREE!!!!! The Clearblue was BLAZING, while the FRER and IC were SUPER faint, but definitely there. Light cramping, my boobs are more sore than they've EVER been.

15DPO: Took another FRER, and three digital tests - the First Response digital, Clearblue Advanced digital, and EPT digital. All positive!!! The FRER had a definite, stronger line this time.

Still having a hard time believing this is real!! My DH and I are SO SO SO beyond excited. Good luck and baby dust to all!!

It always happens when you least expect it! Trusting God's timing

I always told myself that once I got my positive I would post it on here with all my symptoms for all the mommys out there trying like I was. Although I wasn't technically trying anymore i'm very in tune with my body so I started jotting down symptoms pretty much right away. A little history of mine, I was trying really hard for a baby from about mid 2013 till mid 2015 with no luck and a breakup I decided to give it a rest and just focus on being a mommy to my 9 year old and focus on work. I recently started seeing my ex again and we hooked up a few times this past month and BAM i'm pregnant. Talk about crazy timing huh? December was a really rough month for me because I was getting really depressed about being so underweight. I'm very petite only about 5'1 and my healthy weight is usually about 105. Well these last months I went down to 90lbs and had no appetite so I decided to start taking vitamins and drinking ensure drinks to gain some weight. I had also recently read into low progesterone and kinda self diagnosed myself into thinking my hormones were off (another reason why I started on vitamins) for the last two years I've had spotting right after ovulation and before my period plus in the last 3 months my spotting got worse and I started spotting from about 5-7dpo all the way up to my period. So I started taking a multivitamin and drinking my shakes right around the time I conceived a few weeks ago. I have no idea if they helped in conception for me but it's pretty crazy that I got pregnant so soon. Sorry for babbling here's my symptoms everyone :)

nexplanon birth control fail bfp

I'm posting this here because like the ones reading this I searched endlessly about getting pregnant on nexplanon. Was told it was impossible was laughed at by a doctor mind you. I have no idea when I ovulated but this is what I do know.
Dec 15th we bd
Dec 17th had spotting (right on time to think it was af)
Dec 24th spotted again
Dec 25th- Jan 5th had typical pregnancy symptoms but I'm breastfeeding as well as nexplanon causes these symptoms.
Jan 7th I took a hpt frer early morning it was neg. Later at around 3pm i took another frer it took 5 minutes to show a faint line took another at 8pm after 5 hour hold a little darker but not much. I took 2 more on the 8th both faint right away.
I called the doctor on the 7th and he laughed at me saying it was impossible. On the 9th test was barely visible and on the 10th digital said no.
It's been confirmed that I most likely having a chemical but urine test at hospital was positive we just wait it out I suppose. No bleeding yet as of tonight some cramping all weekend. This is the test that took 5 minutes to show.
