Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives

6 years and it's my turn!

Well ladies, I have read so many stories over these last 6 years and thought I would share mine.

I'm 28, DH is 30. We have a 7 year old (almost 8) daughter. We have been trying for a second baby for the last 6 years. Let me tell you, I have had my fair share of tears over these years TTC. I come from a large family and have watched many neice and nephews born over this time. Although I deeply love every single one of my nieces and nephews, I can tell you I had a rollercoaster of emotions each time it was announced to me that someone was pregnant.

Little history with me.....I am overweight and almost exactly a year ago I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and PCOS. I had a feeling several years ago that I may have PCOS but no doctor that seen me would test me and would tell me that I was just overweight and needed to shed some pounds. I was told I had secondary infertility and losing weight may help. Finally a year ago I seen a new OBGYN and explained my situation to her. I had been trying for years to lose weight and get pregnant. She finally listened to me and did some test. She started me on metformin for the PCOS and referred me to my PCP for dosage change for the diabetes and to regulate my blood sugars. It took less than 6 months to get me at a proper dosage and regulate my blood sugars. She even told me that after my blood sugars were regulated that she would start me on fertility treatments if I chose to do so. I chose not to try the fertility treatments right away since twins run on my side of the family.

Fast foward 6 months later..... I was at the point of debating starting the fertility treatment. However, life smacked us in the face once again and we had to start moving. Long story short, got kicked out of apartment for renovation and now we are currently in the process of buying a house. This not being the ideal time to go through fertily treatment I again decided to wait.

We are in the last 2 weeks at our apartment and in the process of packing. Well, about a week ago I started feeling under the weather. I started feeling pretty fatigue and talked it up to stress and the physical demands of packing. Then several days later I came down with what I thought was the stomach flu. (TMI alert) I was nauseous, fatigued, explosive diarrhea and awful stomach cramps for about 3 days. I couldn't get out of bed with the exception of going to the bathroom. I was on a saltine and powerade diet as it was the only thing I could keep down. On day 2 of this I had remembered reading multiple stories on here where ladies thought they had the flu. I checked my ovuview app that I keep track of my menstual cycles to see where I was and to my surprise I was actually a day late. 2 days later I was able to make it to the store and get a pregnancy test and within 10 seconds it was bright blue with the big + sign.

Since I got my BFP, I have been extremely fatigued, have cramps, sore breast, nausea and a backache. Fatigue is so bad that I have been taking several naps during the day. Cramps are slowly fading. Nausea is on and off throughout the day and I have no appetite. I'm still super early (about 5 weeks) and I'm sure these symptoms will intesify over the next several weeks. I am over the moon with joy and crossing my fingers that this little bean sticks and I can finally tell my daughter that she is finally going to get that baby brother or sister that she has been wanting for years. It has been really hard trying to dry her tears because she wants a sibling when holding back mine for not being able to give it to her.

Thanks everyone for reading my story. Baby dust to all you trying!
