What are the chances?

Postby mjl19xx » Tue Jan 08, 2019 7:00 am

Hey all, I am new to this website and hoping for a bit of help!

Basically, to cut a long story short, my period started to arrive on the 22nd Dec 2018, I took a couple of period delay tablets from my doctor (Notheristerone/Utovlan) to delay my period over Christmas. I started to slightly come back on a few days later roughly, so I took 2 more. Since then I have not taken any more tablets and not come back on my period?! I normally always come back on within 2-4 days of the last tablet! Me and my partner are TTC and have had sex on the 26th Dec, 30th Dec, 2nd Jan, 4th Jan & 5th Jan. On the 6th Jan I noticed the slightest bit of pink discharge and again on the 7th, only the tiniest amount when I wiped and nothing since but I keep having pulling pains and twinges from my right ovary. Any advice girls? Done a HPT and it's negative. Any chance I could be pregnant do you think?

Thank you! x

Sounds like you are ovulating now, which is in-line with AF starting on Dec 22. I'd wait 10-14d before testing again. How long is your cycle normally? with a ~28d cycle, you will likely ovulate in the CD13-CD16 range (typical LP is 11-15d), but without charting and temping you will not know for sure exactly when you ovulate. If you aren't charting, I'd highly recommend it.

BTW: how does taking a pill to delay AF work??? I"'ve never heard of that before. Since you took a pill, it likely slows the start of your cycle as well. Way too early to be pregnant already, especially since symptoms you are describing sound like ovulation right now. You're probably ~2wk away from AF showing up. But... sounds like you covered your bases on the BD front during your fertile window this month....

The chances are slim, I won't lie. Keep the faith, please. I think your best option is waiting it out. This time has to be the most frustrating. You just don't know what will happen. You want to hope for the best but you also want to stay realistic. Good luck to you! I really hope it is a BFP.

I would say maybe test. It could be that you are ovulating. However, just wait and see if the same thing doesn't happen. Other than that do test. Why have you been taking birth control pills thou? They really do disturb your hormonal system. Good luck to you. I hope you are soon able to conceive.

Hello. How are you doing? Those are some really weird symptoms. You should take a pregnancy test and see what happens. If it's negative, you can wait a while. Sometimes it takes a couple of takes for a pregnancy test to show positive after these symptoms. I hope you're pregnant. Good luck.

Hey, there! I think you should probably take the test. It's important to clear things up from your side. You'll have to wait for the confirmation, though. Good luck to you! I really hope you're pregnant. Keep us updated on how it goes!
