I use tampons, but I'm seriously thinking about switching to the diva cup, especially after reading the great reviews about it lol

No offense to you ladies, but the Diva Cups just make me squeamish. I use tampons during the day and pads at night. I hate pads, but I feel safer using them overnight than the tampons.

I use a Diva Cup too. I love it. I actually miss it right now. I am still bleeding from my m/c and I can't use it.

If you go to iHerb.com and order. If you use this code ARA691 you get $5 off

Here is the link to size 2 (if you have had a baby or over 30)
http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.asp ... 24959&at=0

Size 1 (under 30 or never had a baby)
http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.asp ... 87683&at=0

That should help. It is wonderful, I am so happy I get to use it again when AF comes. I didn't want to use it while going thru my m/c's so I had to deal with pads again. Yuck.

I'm a diva user, I noticed right after I started using it that tampons really dry me out and I'm really uncomfortable. LOVE my diva

I use a MoonCup (same as Diva...it's the UK brand). i've had it for just over 3 years and you'll never get me using pads or tampons again.

For those who think it sounds really gross and you use tampons, it's much less disgusting that they are! I used mostly tampons for about 10 years and I got more blood and ick on my hands taking those nasty pesticide infested things out of me than I've ever had from my cup! It does take some getting used to, but they're much more comfy when you get the hang of it, they've NEVER been connected to TSS (and cups have been around longer than tampons, before you think they're a new-fangled thing), have no pesticides like all non-organic pads/tampons contain, most of the cups are made of medical grade silicone (though some brands, like the Keeper, are made of natural rubber laytex...that's what the originals were made of!) and they're just better for the environment and your body! They do seem expensive, but consider that you won't need to buy anything for a good 10 years, or longer if you take good care of your cup, and it pays for itself in a few months or so!

I've talked many people into trying them and they have ALL loved the switch!

Hehe, you've just about talked me into trying it! I use tampons but seriously hate the way they dry me out. Sometimes can barely get the darn thing out

Thanks for all the great info about the cup.

I use the Diva cup also :)

I used pads until I lost my virginity with DH because I literally couldn't get tampons in (i'm quite small in there). After I got used to using tampons I couldn't go back to yucky pads. I have tried Instead cups but they are too big for me and don't stay put. After I read about the Diva cup somewhere I had to do it and it's WELL worth the price. If you take care of it and get the hang of putting it in correctly then you won't have leaks. I had to go back to pads for my m/c and it sucked! lol.

well, there will definitely be blood inside, but the outside doesn't tend to be icky unless you let it overflow (which is difficult! A cup holds about 1/3 of an entire average flow cycle.)...if you clean up after you put the cup in then the outside should stay clean. You empty the contents down the potty (or if you're really GREEN, you can dump it into a bucket of water to pour over your plants ;) good fertilizer) and then wash it out. If you're in a public bathroom, either take a bottle of water in your bag to rinse it or wipe it out until the next time you've got access to water. You're meant to boil it between periods, but I don't usually...I just give it a good wash with antibacterial soap in hot water.

It's less gross than removing tampons that have dripped down the string...plus, they don't smell since the blood doesn't get air into it like pads or tampons, so you don't have that ick either.

tampons and pantie liners but i put the string in there so i do not pee on it. in collage the girls that worked at the strips clubs told me that tip. b/c when af comes they still have to work i told dh and he was grossed out but after reading about these cups i am going to look in to them b/c i do get the dryness and maybe it will help with cm not being dry

The only thing is that the Instead and the Diva/Mooncups are COMPLETELY different! They work similarly, obviously, but the size, texture, how they are inserted, etc are not alike...plus I believe a pack of Instead is about half the price of a Moon/Divacup anyways, so may as well splash out. You won't be wanting to go back to pads/tampons after you try it and get the hang of things!

does any one use the instead ? cup it is a lot different but i can get it at walmart and places like that and you can have sex with it and trow it away and use new ones but it is not solid like the mooncup/divacup so it might be harder to remove or messier.
