 WTF? 50's?! I'm with you, I can't even get pregnant at 22 with intervention let alone naturally! She better have some secrets she's willing to share!

I think I would pass out of DH mom told us she was pregnant. When I read the subject my brain translated it to "How do you tell DH mom you're pregnant"... lol...

What does DH say about it? Does he have any other siblings?

My mom is 45, I'm soon to be 25. At 13 I became a big sister for the first time...(My mom ended up having one when I was 13, one when I was 14, and another when I was 15...it was quite a shock to my only-child-life! LOL!)... I can't imagine what I'd do if I had another sibling at this point in my life LOL.

None the less, CONGRATULATIONS to her...Babies sure are blessings =) I can't wait to finally have one! (Yes, find out her secretes and share them please!)

My grandmother had a "tumor" that she was nearly committed to the state mental facility over. She was 40's (I'm thinking, my dates could be off) and had gone through menopause (supposedly) but she swore that she was pregnant. She wasn't a small lady (she was just over 5' and she'd delivered 3 10lb+ babies already) so they couldn't find a heartbeat right away.

Long story short, my father was able to name his youngest brother and had a special relationship with him while my grandfather was totally flabbergasted by the whole thing and had only heard about the new sci-fi IVF and was CONVINCED that some doctor used his wife as test subject.

Looking back, it's HILARIOUS.

I'm the oldest grandchild on all 3 sides (Mom remarried) and I have 1 aunt who is 6 years older than me, 1 uncle who is 8 years older than me and 1 uncle who is 3 years YOUNGER than me.

As long as the children are either raised apart or there isn't a special status assigned based on whose child they are (ie my aunt was treated way differently than I was and I loathed her because of it) then it's great. My dear MIL passed away, so I don't have that possibility but I have a DSS that is reaching his teens and sometimes I worry that he'll end up having children before we do!

I sometimes wonder if my MIL will pop up PG.. She's cracked a couple jokes in the vein of "Maybe I'm pregnant!"- not seriously, but it makes me wonder!

I think it's fabulous! One of my great grandmothers thought she started menopause at 53 and gave birth to a bouncy, healthy baby boy instead! He was a lovely man and lived until he was 96!
Be happy for her, as it is really amazing. :)
