Best/Cheapest Place to Purchase...

Postby choobey » Fri Mar 07, 2014 10:19 pm

COQ10? My RE wants me taking 600 mg a day starting asap. I first looked at Vitamin Shoppe and it was pricey. Then I looked at BJ's and they had a really cheap one, which has me questioning the quality. I would like to buy in bulk, since I have to take so many everyday. Vitamin Shoppe had a kinda bulk one for $99.99. BJ's had a kinda bulk one for $14.99. I know plenty of women here take it, so I'm hoping someone can help me out! Thanks!!

Hi Choobey:

I don't know of a cheap place but I would recommend the Ubiquinol form of CoQ10 which studies show are better absorbed, especially in women over 25. Unfortunately, it is more expensive. I just bought 12 bottles of Ubiquinol 200 mg 30 gel caps for $300 which works out to $25 per bottle. Each bottle will last me 10 days. If I buy this at home in stores, it costs me the same price for half the amount. This stuff ain't cheap but I believe it's worth the investment.

Thanks Adventurer!! If it helps, I really don't care too much about price, although any money I can save while going through the IVF cycle would be great. I saw that type while looking around online. The cheaper one at BJ's for $14.99 is a dietary supplement, so I'm assuming there's a difference and that's not the one to get. Thanks for your help!!

I ordered mine online from www wholesalecoq10.com. You can check out the site b4 you decide. There are so many options its dizzying! The most expensive is a special soluble form but its double the price so I decided against it.

WOW thank you for posting so it would make me google CoQ10!!!!!!!!!

Canadian News Station article:

http://www.ctvnews.ca/supplement-touted-as-way-to-extend-fertility-1.744549

How have I not been taking this!!!!!!!! Aaaahhhh :omg: must run to store and buy immediately!!!!! LOL

My only hesitation is it's commonly known that a side effect is lowering of the blood pressure...mine is already always really, really low. Bwahaha so as long as taking it doesn't make me pass out we're all good.

Sounds like people with Male infertility should really take note:

Male Fertility Studies

A study conducted by researchers from the Polytechnic University of Marche reported on the use of CoQ10 in men with low sperm counts and motility due to idiopathic infertility in the May 2009 "Fertility and Sterility." The study found a direct correlation between the two parameters and the concentration of CoQ10 in the seminal fluid, lead author Giancarlo Balercia, M.D., stated. Men treated with 200 mg of CoQ10 for six months had an increase in levels of the compound in semen as well as increased sperm motility. Men with the lowest initial CoQ10 levels and worst sperm motility showed the greatest improvement.

I take CoQ10 but it was just the Jamison brand. I was doing 120 then bought 250 by mistake so I just take that now. I also heard the Ubiquinol is better than the Ubiquinone.

I bought mine today and started taking it. I'm actually excited, lol. I've tried a ton of natural supplements and they either didn't help or screwed with my already screwy cycle. That's why I stopped trying. But, my RE wanted me to start it and I happily obliged! Thanks for all the advice ladies! I definitely didn't know about using it for MFI. Now I'm thinking I should have my dh start taking it!!

Thanks for asking this Choobey. I have taken this for almost a year. I notice I get less headaches than I did before. I don't get a ton of severe headaches but several minor ones a week. Was much less (until I started with the clomid and femara).

Also, my RE told DH to take 200mgs of coQ10 two times a day to help with his morphology and increase count. My DH takes a lot of supplements recommended by RE and we have seen a significant increase in count but also in overall quality of sample (according to doc). It did take about 90 days to see a good increase but it is there.

Good luck to all of you!!!!!

My RE just told me to stop when I get a BFP but to continually take them until then. :)

Since I last posted here, I had my 4th IUI. You'll see (in my signature) that DH's numbers have skyrocketed. I'm really feeling good about the money I spent for these and proud that my DH is willing to take them diligently and see an impact. I'm not certain it will work, but it sure can't hurt.

I started my dh on it two days ago! I think I screwed up though because I only had him take 200 mg, not 200 mg twice a day. Whoops. Guess he'll take another 200 mg later tonight! And Jamie, that's great news about your dh's numbers!! Good luck with your IUI!! I was supposed to be starting my final IUI cycle the end of this week, but I'm having major insurance/med issues. So, since I'm probably screwed for this coming cycle, again, you can have all of my baby dust and sticky vibes!!
