Blood Test vs HPT

Postby km746213 » Sat Jul 29, 2017 9:27 am

Hi everyone, so I tested at what I thought was 14 DPO this morning and got a bfn on a FRER test. But......I became extremely nauseous and ended up having to pull my car over this morning to get sick. And I absolutely cannot stand certain smells right now. Anyone else have a bfn this late and ended up with a bfp later? Should I go to my doctor for a blood test? And are blood tests more sensitive than hpt? Any input is super helpful! AF has yet to show up for this cycle.

There's plenty of anecdotal evidence out there of women who get very late positive tests with healthy pregnancies, so it is possible. If you can't stand not knowing, ask for a blood test, otherwise a test 7 days after AF is due is considered in most situations to be conclusive. Like I said above, there are weird stories you hear about people who don't get positives until way later, but most will be positive by then. Good luck!
