Anyone experienced a very light period!?

Postby Meggiemooo » Tue Dec 12, 2017 6:50 am

My first post after lurking for ages. I’ve been TTC for a few months, but this cycle I have a very odd period. It came right on time cd29, but it’s super light. It’s more than spotting, and the blood seem fresh (sorry tmi) but no where near my normal flow. I usually use super or super plus tampons and it’s always 5 days long, but I hardly filled a regular tampon in 8 hours and it seems to have stopped after 2 days. Any ideas what might cause this? Im new to all this so second guessing everything! I have never temped before but did for the last 2 days whilst I was bleeding and got 96.8 and 96.5.
Thanks for your help!!!

Hi and welcome :)
It's most likely an "off" period, sometimes our bodies like to trick us into thinking it's something that it's not lol. I would consider it as AF xx
When the world says "give up", hope whispers "try it one more time"

Very light period should alarm you, because in most cases there’s a serious health problem that stands behind it. However, it doesn`t mean that scanty menstruation is always a pathology. For example, it can be the first symptom of the ‘interesting condition’, i.e. pregnancy. Side effects of the hormonal contraception can also cause scanty menses. Here we will try to give theoretical answers to main questions about light periods, their causes and consequences. Only your gynecologist can determine the true cause of this unusual symptom on practice. Scanty period is characterized by a decreased amount of menstrual discharge that looks more like spotting than bleeding. You can see a doctor for more information too.

I get the odd short light period, having one right now lol. I figure in those months something knocked my hormones off balance. If your periods suddenly change from regular to consistently light then I would get that checked.
