How to calculate how far along I am

Wed Dec 27, 2017 12:43 pm

Hello all, last month I had multiple positive hpt and then when I was 4.4 weeks I started to bleed quite heavily. Bleeding lasted about 4 days stopped for 2 then started again for another 6. Dr said it was a chemical pregnancy and gave the green light to try again. Now I have multiple bfp and don't know how to figure out how far along I am. Do I date it regularly from start of af or later? I assume I wasn't ovulating during bleeding?

In case this is a new pregnancy I would say calculate from your second bleed.... but when you will have a scan they will tell you exactly how far along you are.

When calculating an estimated due date, calculators and tools often base the date on the first day of your last menstrual period. Do you know the first day of your last period? That was day one of week one. So by the time you find out you're pregnant, you're usually already four weeks pregnant, which is when your next period would have been due. If you don't know the date of your last period, your doctor will likely offer you an ultrasound, to see how far along you are. An internal ultrasound is used for very early pregnancy, because the baby is usually too small to be clearly seen via your abdomen. A gestational sac can usually be seen, and from around six weeks of pregnancy. You may be able to see the first flutters of your baby's heartbeat. Bio tex clinic has improved tools for this.
