Progesterone Suppository

Postby shanay » Fri May 18, 2018 1:40 pm

So my acupuncturist prescribed me progesterone suppositories to start when I get a BFP. I am supposed to take one in the morning and one before bed. I have heard these get really icky *down there*, and I heard bd-ing on them is just... icky lol. I have read that there is progesterone cream as well. Does anyone have any experience with either? both? I was hoping the cream wouldn't be as 'icky' and maybe I could try that instead? My 21day bloods showed that my progesterone was at 49.7, which is pretty good I think, but because of my past early miscarriages she doesn't want to take any chance that it drops and i miscarry again. Thanks :)

Vaginal progesterone cream or suppository is yucky, and yeah BD is yucky.
There is an alternative cream progesterone, natural progesterone cream to use on ur body but that is not strong enough.

Ah ok.
I did read that if you take one morning and night, try to BD at night and THEN take the suppository after, before bed. I just can't imagine going that many weeks without BD-ing haha

If you are allowed to be while on those you can do it is duable if your partner won’t be bothered by the residue,it won’t be a lot anyway.
I was pregnant 3 times,I was not allowed sex for months,is a wonder the things we are capable to do when you want something really bad!

Oh ok! How come you weren't allowed? Is there a reason I should abstain from sex?! :)

She did say I could have sex on them if I want, just that it might be 'icky'. I think my SO would be okay with it. Now just need the BFP hah!

Yep,safety! My doctor doesn’t want sex in the first trimester and if he sees any problems no sex at all.
But my problems are different than yours.

I don't know how to say this so I'm just going to blurt it out - you can insert them rectally. Works just as well and no mess.
