New Here with No Luck...

Postby meneak74 » Wed Sep 06, 2017 4:54 pm

Hi There! I am new here and a bit overwhelmed. There is a lot of info here so I hope I am doing this is in the right place.

My husband and I am both 32. We have been TTC for a while with no luck. We both know the reason we aren't having any luck and plan to see a doctor but I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what has been done about it.

We have a, I would probably say, a below average sex life, but since we started trying, it has been pretty consistent for the last year that we try around the time of ovulation. The problem is my husband has never been able to "finish the job." He can by himself, but cannot when we are together. He never has been able to. We have tried so many different things without success.

Has anyone ever heard of this? Is this common?

We are possibly looking into IUI, but are going to see what the doctor says.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome. I have read several posts on this site about husbands not being able to finish when trying for a baby. In my opinion, sometimes it's that even though both want a child, the idea of having a baby is scary and that causes the man to be unable to finish. Or he feels pressure and that causes him to be unable. I would doubt technique is the problem, it's probably more emotional/psychological than physical. I know you said you are seeing a doctor but maybe a counselor or psychologist would be helpful. I'm not sure if you are religious but a marriage cd I have talks about the beauty of sex in a marriage is that you can give yourself to your spouse completely without fear. Im sure it's frustrating on your end especially with trying for a baby but I would think the best way to help him is to continue to be supportive. Everyone has something that they are going through and this issue is what you and your husband are dealing with.

I absolutely agree with Lindsey's post and I would like add that if he can finish by himself than you can try at home insemination, there is a ton of info about it on Google,I would try that for a few cycles and then go see a doctor.
Good luck!!

Hi. How are you? I hope you are fine. I suggest that you must consult a good doctor. Follow what he says. You are too young. You will soon conceive. Please don't give up. Go for some tests. Hope for the best everything will be alright. Good wishes.

I came across this post mainly because a friend messaged me saying her husband and her were having the same issue. I thought I would read some comments and get her some help. It can be really frustrating. I personally think it is because of the pressure. The constant thought of getting the job done. I am not sure but I think this could be a reason. I have suggested her obviously to visit a specialist. Mainly because it could be a serious problem. Male factor infertility does exist and we can't deny that. Mobility and low sperm count are the two main issues. I hope there is nothing seriously wrong. She was also talking about considering IUI. However, I told her not to think too fast. One should yes research about them but the final decision should be made after things are confirmed. If your problem was solved please do let me know.

Hey there! I'm not sure it's common. Still if you think this is your issue then it probably is. also it must be useful to see your dr and ask for some tests to make sure you're on the right way. You've mentioned you've been trying just for a while. You might just need a bit more time. I truly hope your luck is just around the corner, stay well.

Hey! how are you doing? Sorry to hear about this. It is a weird problem though. I don't think its very common. But don't worry. IUI would be the answer to this I'm sure. Just make sure to get it done from a reliable place. Good luck!

If you have been trying for a long do visit a doctor. At this point, it becomes necessary to visit one. The doctor will do both of yours tests and figure things out. Make sure the doctor you decide to visit has a high success rate. it is important that the doctors know what they are doing. Good luck to you. I hope you are soon able to conceive. Do keep us updated.

you could give "the stork" a try. He could just finish in the little cup and then insert that. Videos on their website how it works. Good luck xo
