Anyone with the surrogacy experience?

Postby Camila Marco » Tue Aug 28, 2018 6:33 pm

Hello everyone, I have PCOS so my doctor suggested against conception. Now I am undergoing surrogacy in a very well reputed clinic. They have been a great help so far and everything is going smoothly. The energy and the vibrancy of the clinic are very motivational and helped a lot in allaying my concerns. I am scheduled for the first meeting with the surrogate mother in a few days. She was chosen by us from the list of profiles provided by the clinic. I am all excited about the meeting. But I am not a peoples person and am very nervous at the same time. I would like to know what to expect from the meeting and how to proceed. Anyone who has some experience of that please give me some insight into what it is going to entails. Any kind of help in this regard will be welcome. I just need some support and reassurances that everything is going to be alright.

As far as I know, if you're undergoing surrogacy abroad then you're more likely to see your surrogate for the first at time of 12 wks scan. Still, this might be useful for you. (of course. every clinic has it's own treatment plan, but this is what I found on the internet):
INITIAL CONSULTATION (takes 1 full business day)
The initial consultation is to be scheduled at least 1 week ahead and contains the following activities:
A set of tests depending on the program (fasting is mandatory)
Consultation with a fertility specialist who will be in charge of your program (in case of stimulation you will need to have the transvaginal ultrasound check done)
Consultation with a manager who will guide you through the program step by step
Signing of contracts
First payment (please note, if you are taking medications for stimulation from the clinic, the medications are to be paid in cash on the day of consultation).
Before any initial consultation you will receive the Guidelines for the Initial Consultation – failure to follow these recommendations may affect the initial consultation in a negative way.
After you sign contracts and make the first payment, the medical team starts the selection process that includes:
Initial pre-selection by the local coordinator
Consultation of the fertility specialist.
Consultation of a psychologist
Legal consultation and verification of documents
screening for possible addictions (urine and blood tests)
This check-up process, including all necessary tests and exams, takes about 1 month.
Hope this helps. May your journey be smooth, all the best.
