Worried about lack of EWCM

Postby alinat » Sun May 01, 2011 4:47 pm

I have noticed that as I have gotten older my EWCM has become less and less. I have tried drinking more and taking EPO which is not working. Will this have a negative impact on conception? Its been 23 cycles with no sticky bean and its getting harder and harder and everyone around me seems to be getting pregnant. When do you say enough is enough? I'm tired and broken.

Are you seeing a Reproductive Endocrinologist? If you aren't, you should, this is the appropriate course of action for women who have been trying to conceive for 12 months consecutively without a child (6 months for women 35or older.)

I'm not sure what kind of lubricant you are using (if you are using one at all.) They sell Pre-Seed, which is a sperm friendly lubricant that you can use. Also, some women use Tussin (you may have to research this more, I have only read this online) to help increase the EWCM.

Also, there is a test to see if CM is hostile to sperm. If it's not hostile, but you still have some, then it should be adequate to supply the sperm with protection/nutrients before it makes its way to the egg.

Have you tried Mucinex? I've been using the regular decongestant Mucinex (not Mucinex DM, which includes a cough suppressant) and it helps produce lots of EWCM.

I'm only 26 but I have very little EWCM and nothing has really worked for me to increase it and I've tried everything - more water, Robitussin, Mucinex, Grapefruit Juice and EPO. It could be a problem but you could still have some at your cervix that you don't necessarily see. An IUI is an option too because it bypasses the CM issue.

Pre-Seed is another good option for lack of EWCM. Use it when you think you are in your fertile window, and it can help nourish the sperm, in place of copious amounts of natural EWCM.

I agree with alot of the suggestions - mucinex, pressed, iui - all could be helpful.
Also with seeing an RE. They may want to check your estrogen levels. It is normal as we get older to have fewer days with EWCM and it may be as someone said you are missing it if not checking internally.
Good :luck:
