Anyone else dealing with this?

I have one amazing daughter, age two. :af: came back PP the day she turned 9 months old (01/2010). Been not trying/not preventing most of those months. I found out with DD that I have a super short LP, only 9 days. With her I took a b-complex vit for one whole cycle and BAM! :bfp: and healthy baby. That is NOT WORKING this time around. I haven't been really keeping up with a chart this cycle...it's hard because my work schedule is soo crazy so I get to bed and up at different times every day. But when I talked to my OB in may, he perscribed clomid 50mg days 5-9. This will have been my first cycle on it. Going by when I had the worst O pains (CD 15) I'm 12dpo today. Tests are all :bfn: but that's okay, kind of. I'm thankful my LP seems to be extending. But at the same time I am frustrated because I've never made it to 12dpo and not been knocked up.

Anyway, thx for letting me vent. It just feels like the second time around should not be this hard!!
me-23~Secretly praying for that sticky :bfp: for 21 months and counting.

Cool - i went to JSU for 2 years so I know Oxford well! I actually live in Hueytown if you've ever heard of it. Good luck with clomid, I took it for 3 cycles but that was before we found that my tubes are closed. Hopefully it will work for you! Did you get a day 21 progesterone test? You do still have time to get a BFP this time! Crossing my fingers for you!

I haven't had ANY blood work done. What I know about my LP I know because of charting. When I talked to my OB about it, he was just like, here, take this for 6 cycles, and if it doesn't work we'll move onto something else. I don't have insurance right now, so I'm paying for everything OOP, so right now, I really can't afford to have alot of tests done...

I understand. How old are you? I'm 34 so time is of the essence for me, so after 3 cycles I called my doc back and told him ok it's time to do something else. That is when he decided to do a laparoscopy and he found my tubes were blocked and referred me to Alabama Fertility Specialists. So depending on your age and how anxious you get, after a few months you may want to try something different if you have insurance by then. Also, I have read that Clomid taken over long periods of time can have adverse affects on fertility that include hostile CM and thinning your uterine lining, so you might want to check on that as well. I hope you don't have to take it very long for your sake and you get that BFP this cycle or next! When are you gonna test again?

I'm not gonna test again until :af: is really late, if she is...so like...later next week, I think. DH will kill me if I spend anymore money on preg tests. hehehe. I'm 23. My OB also said that DD's nursing could also have alot to do with not getting preggers. I have had one other pregnancy, the end of last year/beginning of this but it ended in a miscarriage/d&c the day before my birthday. ugh. I noticed last cycle on clomid, I did not have a whole lot of CM at any time during the month, so right now I'm reasearching how I can naturally fix that next cycle.

What is the next step for you? IVF?

I am sorry about your m/c, I have never dealt with that, I can't imagine. Especially right there at your bday, that sucks. At least you are young though and have plenty of time to figure out what is going on with you. Hopefully it is just getting you regulated after bf'ing or something simple like that. Yes, I am getting ready for IVF. I had more bloodwork Tuesday and I go tomorrow for my HSG, then I see the doc again next week so I am hoping to find out a timeline of when everything will get started. This clinic cycles everybody through at one time and I think August is the next one so hopefully i'll get in on that one.

One thing that helped my CM on clomid was taking Evening Primrose Oil, you can get it at walmart or the drug store in the vitamin section. I took 3000mg a day, and I had much more CM when taking it. Also, if you take mucinex or plain robotussin (just the kind with guafenisen, not the D), it helps to loosen up the CM that is there. When I took mucinex by itself it didn't do anything for me, so I just took straight EPO from the time AF started through O day. You aren't supposed to take EPO after you O because it could possibly cause contractions. Try to drink a lot of water and also if you want to check out Pre-Seed it is a baby making friendly lube that most people love - I really liked it but DH was not a fan til I realized i was using way too much. The recomended amount is like 3g, but 1 was plenty.
Now I am rambling, i am bored at work LOL! Please keep me posted on everything, I am rooting for you! :)

I'm going to try the EPO next cycle (if I need it) DH is weird about lubes....he feels like if i'm not "wet" enought without them, then he's doing something wrong.

Is your RE in Bham? I haven't even looked into one, because I hope it doesn't come to that. I hope they can get you in in Aug. That's not to far away!! How does that work, if you don't mind me asking? Like the egg retrevial and all of that?

hi, im dealing with a similar situation not being able to conceive. im also starting clomid next cycle (well the first cycle my dh is recovered after surgery) so hoping it will help. i use preseed which has SO many good reviews, and alot of women have reported a bfp after the first month! its great for the dryness too, and is used regardless of your cm so it wouldnt hurt dh's feelings as much!
hope you get your bfp soon!
TTC over 3 years. 6 cycles 100mg Clomid, 5 BFNs 1 Ectopic. Lap and fertility testing, DX Unexplained Infertility.
BFP 8/12: Ectopic pregnancy - treated unsucessfully with Methotrexate, then surgically removed in emergency surgery.
10/12: Found out my right tube is deformed and my left tube is badly damaged from the Ectopic pregnancy. Advised to move onto IVF because I have almost no chance of conceiving naturally.

Hey Bama - yes my RE is in Birmingham - Dr. Steinkampf at Alabama Fertility Specialists. I hope it doesn't come to that for you either! I know what you mean about DH being that way, mine is the same way. But just explain to him that it is the medicine not him LOL! That sperm has to have something to travel on!
Yes IVF is where you take the shots and let your body produce lots of eggs, then they retrieve them, mix them with sperm, then implant the viable ones a few days later. :) Did AF ever show??
