Hey girls :D

Merry christmas to you both - first christmas for your little babies, how precious xx

My boys may be making an earlier appearance than planned, we have a growth issue going on with one and too much amniotic fluid - only been an issue since the scan last week, all had been well until then! I go in on xmas eve for another scan and consultant appointment to check his growth and fluid levels, may be having christmas babies if there is any further drop in growth and increased fluid. I'm hoping to keep them cooking until 2015... we'll see how that goes!! x

Hi Nicky and Shells,

It is great to hear from you both. .

Nicky, Jack is just such a wonderfully gorgeous little boy. I can't believe he is 5 months already; where has the time gone? Probably lost in a sea of nappies. How are you finding motherhood? Anything at all like you imagined? It is hard, isn't it? I had no idea about anything! I thought being a mum would come naturally and my maternal instict would see me through. Ha! It seems not. Have you got exciting plans for your first Christmas as a family?

Shells, so lovely to get an update on your baby boys. I am sorry to hear about the fluid and the growth restriction. It will be an exciting and nervous Christmas Eve for you and your partner. I hope you can keep the babies inside for a little bit longer. You must be dying to meet them by now. I was so excited, and very nervous, by your stage if pregnancy. With every kick I wanted to meet her more and more, whilst at the same time wanting to be pregnant forever. Such confusing but wonderful times. Have you thought of names yet? Are you ready for the babies to come? Is your hospital bag packed? It is funny the obsession with the hospital bag - everyone asked me if mine was packed and now I feel compelled to ask you too.

Things here are settling down now. Sadie has very bad colic and basically screamed continuously from 6 to 13 weeks. It was, quite frankly, hell. I couldn't take her out as she would just scream and scream. I literally stayed home for 7 weeks straight. Things started improving at 13 weeks and have been getting better ever since. Going out still makes me nervous as she is prone to total meltdowns but I try to get out most days. We are currently working on getting her to nap consistently. It is slow progress but we seem to be heading in the right direction. The most exciting thing that has happened recently is that we went to the cinema (special babies allowed screening) to see Paddington and Sadie was an angel. No screaming at all and she napped through half the film. It felt so liberating I was literally high for the rest of the day. Wow! What has happened to my life?! 2015 is going to be all about getting out more...Hopefully.

Lots of love and Christmas wishes to you and your families. I would love to hear more updates.

P. S. I am on my phone so can't post pics but will add one soon.

Great news Baby B, who is still small has grown 12oz in two weeks and his fluid levels have dropped back into normal range (75mm) - i am so relieved!!! Baby A is still oblique and showing no signs of moving so a c-section has been booked for 14th January..... 3 weeks today! OMG It's all of a sudden got very very real!
I go back for a scan in 2 weeks (hopefully 7th Jan) to make sure all is still well, Ob appointment again afterwards plus my pre op assessment should be the same day.... babies should be here the week after. This all just got very real!!

Merry Christmas ladies xx

Hi ladies very quickly just to let you know Samuel Stuart 6lb 5oz and Oliver Michael 5lb 2oz were born on 14.01.15 at 14.04... 26 seconds apart and born in the same minute! we spent 8 days in hospital due to various minor problems, the biggest being Jaundice with both boys which kept rebounding and requiring more treatment - it was hard to see them going through so much, we also had massive weight loss due to the jaundice and are on feeding plans with the paediatrician trying to build them up now. Finally got home last night and will have visit from midwives every 2 days for the next week to weigh the boys and hopefully they will continue to gain weight. Oliver is gaining very slowly, he's healthy but very little (4lb 12oz now!). got to go... food is here will try and get back later x

Congratulations Shells!!! :happyforyou: :happyforyou: :happyforyou:
So pleased you finally have your little bubbas with u.
I know its a crazy time right now but just enjoy it if you can as it just flies by!
Can you believe Jack is 6 and a half months old already??? Where does time go?

Ana - I hope all is well with you and that Sadie has fully recovered from her colic - how very stressful for you.
Please send some piccies of her if you can. I bet she has changed so much.

All is well this end - we have just returned from a weeks holiday to Gran Canaria. The same place we went to when I was pregnant last year.
It was really nice although we were a slave to Jacks routine - as per usual. We also had a stressful journey back as it was a night flight. :(
He is dong really well now with his weight and probably weighs close to 17lb now - which is good for him.
I feel so truly blessed to have him but im already have naughty thoughts - wouldn't it be nice for Jack to have a baby bro or sister - nooooooooooooo get out of my head. I cant go through
all that stress again.......

Anyway I shall leave you ladies to it but love to hear updates and congrats once again shells. I am truly thrilled for you as I know are many of this site.

Shells, Congratulations. Such gorgeous boys. How are the boys doing? Sorry to hear about the jaundice. It's a pain, isn't it? Sadie also had jaundice caused by becoming dehydrated as she wasn't able to latch properly. She ended up having to spend a day on a pediatric ward and it took me so long to get the feeding sorted. Are your boys feeding well? How are you finding life with two little ones? Are you managing to get enough rest? I really love the pictures of your babies and such lovely names. I am really thrilled that they are here; I am sure there were times you thought this day would never come. Congrats again.

Nicky, so good to hear from you and get an update. As I think I mentioned, I love the Canary Islands. Was it very different travelling with a baby? Well done you for getting through the flight. I am not brave enough to go on a plane with Sadie yet. I find life, or Sadie at least, is such much easier when we follow her routine. It can make things a bit rigid but she gets so grumpy if she's tired.
Well done Jack for getting to 17 lb. Sadie is still very large and was 22 lb at her 6 month weigh in! How is weaning going? We have just started solids and, unsurprisingly, Sadie is quite keen.
I am also having thoughts about a brother or sister for Sadie and then I remember IVF, miscarriages, terrible sickness, labour and a screaming colicky baby and think that perhaps not just yet. We have seven frozen embryos so I am sure we'll go back for them one day.

No more news here. Sadie is getting easier to manage but she doesn't sleep well at night anymore which is such a pain.

I don't seem to be able to log in via my computer so am on the phone. Once I have figured it out I will post some pics - Sadie has changed so much.

Lots of love,

A

The jaundice for ollie was so bad, 3 lots of phototherapy at 20 hours a time - broke my heart! thankfully he could stay with me in my room to do it! Sam thankfully was only one 20 hour stint! They are great feeders, great sleepers, i'm truly blessed with good boys! They feed around every 4 hours, go down for a nap, wake bang on cue, changed nappies, feed, nap... i live in 4 hour cycles lol They went 5 and half hours over night last night - 12.30pm feed woke at 6am! Bliss! Won't happen again i'm sure but was lovely lol x

I still look at them and can't believe they are really mine! They are so precious i kiss them them everytime i look at them, they are going to be very squishy loved soppy boys lol

I'm sure the decision to go through IVF again is a tough one, the journey is so hard and it doesn't go away once little ones are here, they remind us everyday what we have been through to get our little ones. Hopefully Sadie will start being a good girl through the night again for you soon x

Ahh Shells they are absolutely gorgeous!!! Well done you! Congratulations on becoming a mother of two - yay!!!

Ana - yes do share some more piccies - I shall too if I cant work out how to do it again!
The sleep thing with Sadie is horrible and it could be any number of things. Perhaps she is teething?
Weaning often upsets their routine too. Weaning is quite stressful as you never know how much to give, what to give or when to give it.....

I think we are putting the whole sibling thing on hold for a bit. Im still breastfeeding anyway so havent even had a period yet....bliss! :)
Whatever decision you come to will be the right one for sure but im with you on the stress associated with even trying naturally.

Hope you are all well - can you believe we are all mums now whereas 18 months ago I would never have imagined this dream would become a reality.
Lots of love.
