New Here :-)

Postby USCGWifey09 » Mon Sep 15, 2014 5:59 pm

Hello!
I am new to this board and after being chased out of another infertility board for not being far enough along in the process. I am just looking for some support, encouragement, and a place to vent every once in a while. I have been writing blogs on TWW for about a year but have only recently ventured over to the TTC boards. PLEASE let me know if I am not in the right place.
So, a little about me... I am 27 and DH is turning 30 in a few weeks. We have been TTC for 18 cycles with not even as much as a late period. We tried to just let it happen for 15 cycles and then we decided that we better get help. I have gotten blood tests done, a pelvic ultrasound, an MRI, and a general physical exam. The ultrasound showed a "pelvic mass" that I found out today has decreased considerably. My OBGyn thinks it's just a hemorrhagic cyst. Everything else came back "perfect." I hate that "p" word. I know I may not be in the right place because I have not technically been diagnosed as being "infertile" despite having been trying for over a year and a half. I also know that there are probably a ton of other tests that I need to get done. I don't know what they are. That's part of the reason I am here.
So, if you will have me, I would love to be a part of this community. If there is another board that I would fit in better, please let me know.
Thank you ladies! :-)

Hi USCG! I don't think there is a right or wrong place when looking for support and needing to vent. I follow a few different boards and talk to all kinds of people. While you don't wish the pain of Infertility on your worst enemy, it's nice to know that there is support out there from people who understand exactly what you're going through! Our RE said that typically, after a year or so of not being able to conceive, once you've had all the tests and work-ups and no problems are identified, you get the lovely "Unexplained Infertility" diagnosis (which we were blessed with at the beginning of this year...blah!). Has your DH done a SA and does everything look clear on his end? Are you guys doing any kind of treatments right now or TTC naturally still?
Me: 31, labs/HSG normal, shorter cycles (22-26 days average).

Hi USCG and welcome! Like TTC-Baby said, there isn't a right or wrong place and I think this is a great place to start looking for info and support. If you have been TTC for over a year with no luck you are technically suffering from infertility. I would talk to your doctor about getting an official diagnosis so you can go see an RE (with my health coverage I needed the diagnosis to see a specialist) who can help you find out the cause of your infertility and help you conceive. I don't know what bloodwork you had done but make sure your CD3 and CD21 bloods are done and also have an HSG done to check for blocked tubes. I also agree with your DH having a sperm analysis done. Good luck and much babydust to you!

Thank you for your replies! As far as testing goes, I have gotten an ultrasound, MRI, CD3 blood work, and all of the other "health screening" blood work such as cholesterol, blood sugar, and STD's. DH has been avoiding the SA, especially after we thought that I had a more serious cysts. He is much more willing to get it done now that my OBGyn doesn't think I'm the problem. After he gets the SA (sorry if I am repeating myself from the original post) I have to get the HSG test. I am very interested in the results from that one. Oh, and I keep trying to contact my Primary Care Provider to get a referral to an RE. Unfortunately, she is apparently out of town or something so I can't get a hold of her. At least getting the SA and HSG will still be good either way.
Also, I am on CD14 and got a VERY positive OPK last night and again this morning. We all know what that means!
Lots of luck to you ladies and lots and lots of baby dust!

Sounds like you have a great plan and at least u can get those next two important things done without the RE! Yay for + OPK, hope this is your month and you won't have to worry about any of those other tests :luck:

Small Victory!

Postby USCGWifey09 » Wed Sep 24, 2014 9:54 am

I just had to add that, after many months of trying to get a referral, I FINALLY got word this morning that my referral request has been accepted! I am still going to wait until DH gets his SA but I am so happy that I will FINALLY be seeing the right doctor (RE)! Like always, fingers crossed for this month though!

I'm doing my happy dance. :-D
