Jumping in on this one... I am so glad to hear that your new doctor is taking such a proactive approach. I am also 41 and my RE doesn't want to waste any time either. I am looking to have one more to add to my crew and so far, this past year I am not having any luck. My doctor asked me how aggressive I wanted to go. My last FSH was 8, which is still good - not excellent, but still really good. She started the Clomid challenge test to see how receptive I would be to it, to get me to increase my follicle production and also the quality as well. I finish my round of Clomid tomorrow and go for a scan on Friday - I am hoping for positive results.

My doctor also said that I could do injections if I felt like I couldn't wait. She will be as aggressive with treatment as I want because I, too, just turned 41. I've never had ANY problems conceiving, except for this time. My last son, I was 38 and I got pregnant with my first cycle, and delivered a healthy baby 9 months later. This time - nothing seems to stick. :(

Anyway, sorry for rambling - but again, I'm happy that you found a doctor that is on YOUR side. Good Luck!!!

Danielle it is great when the physician is wanting to get stuff done as you are. I was so afraid before my appointment, even in the waiting room I kept telling my husband that I was worried about what the doctor was going to be like and I was almost in panik attack. My husband had to convince me to stay because I was going to give up. I know that sounds stupid but it was almost like I wanted to quit before they told me to give up.

Good luck on Friday! Keep us posted!

mom2bret, I am SO HAPPY to hear you have an amazing doctor that really took the time to sit and talk with you! My RE just told me a similar thing, that time is of the essence and we have to be more aggressive now. No more putting things off. Even though I am 36, my egg quality is equal to that of someone 42. I'm glad to hear your FSH is good though! Mine was 12 so that's why I have to move to injectables. I think it is amazing you are getting the HSG done so quickly, and the progesterone test. Sounds like Clomid might do just the trick! As far as the SA, I checked your post and it does seem like the count is low, but make sure that isn't the per ml count, because if it is then it would be in the normal range. Let me know how the testing goes, so excited for you!

Ugh! I replied to this yesterday but it disappeared!

Vanjust14 it is so nice to have a physician that is wanting to move as fast or as slow as we would like. So glad your RE is wanting my to get things moving for you!

Well had my HSG today, it was a bit painful but only on the one side. I mean, it's hard to describe, I had the cramping like they warned me about but one side was worse than the other. But good news the final picture they took showed dye coming out of both tubes!! So both tubes are now open. I say now cause I'm not so sure the one was truly open at the beginning. It too several more films as they kept pushing dye in befor the one side had dye coming out so it makes me think it might have had a slight block but that could just be me over thinking. But all is good with the pipes! The lady who performed it said no sex for 72 hours which is fine cause I don't ovulate for another 10 days or so but she said to really really try for the next few cycles because women tend to conceive after their HSG. So extra trying the next few cycles!!

I am going to jump in on this thread as you are all speaking in these new terms I am learning. I just had my ultrasound today and will get results next Tuesday Dec 2. My periods mysteriously stopped 3 months ago so I had a Provera induced period and day 3 labs. My FSH was 2.3 and my AMH 2.2 (not sure if that is too low? Seems low compared to the values the lab sets) during the ultrasound today one ovary appeared bigger than the other to me...the small one was very hard for her to find and required lots of pushing on my abdomen. Did anyone else have this? Ug! Can't wait for my appointment!

days, confirmed ovulation!

Hi cuphalffull! Those numbers seem normal to me. FSH should be low on Day 3. I believe anything less than 10 is good. With the AMH, it is normal if it is over 1 but under 4. I think you have great results! I do not know about the small ovary though.

Hi cuphalffull. Your numbers sound good with everything I have read. I know they had to push around on my abdomen to find my left ovary but she said that was common because of its location and that of other organs that get in the way sometimes. Colon or bowel or something, can't remember what she said. Not much help there. And size, I'm not sure about.

As for me, I'm 10 DPO and usually AF has showed by now or I am having bad cramps but nothing at all so far! Hopefully a good sign!
