Re: Going to an RE, advice?

Started with my first 500 mg pill last night on a full stomach. I have to go up only to 1000mg after 7 days.

But, I woke up this morning feeling like my uterus was going to be ripped out of my abdomen. Never felt anything like that before. I was afraid it was my cyst bursting now that I know it's there

Since I couldnt miss any more work, I decided to try a gas-x hoping it was the metformin creating havoc on my insides. Also took an Alieve. Pain subsided eventually and I got out of bed. Super weird!

Have you tried having any alcoholic beverages with met yet?

Sounds like a cyst bursting. I don't drink alcohol, so I have no idea. Will you be taking fertility meds?

Won't know until the HSG and SA next month. I guess the metformin is supposed to be helping somehow by lowering my insulin.

When are you scheduled for those? Waiting on AF?

FX for you and your IUI! We're waiting for AF and then I'm supposed to go for labs? It's super confusing! Then I take a zpak and get an HSG....

I'm on 500 of met each evening for 7 days and then adding 500 mg in the am. I've been ok so far, actually really (TMI alert) constipated instead of having diarrhea... Maybe I should be concerned?

Keep us posted on the IUI!

You know what I've had bouts of constipation sometimes too. Everyone responds to things differently. Make sure to take some ibuprofen before your HSG it helps with some cramping and discomfort! Tomorrow I'll be 8dpiui and I'm still cramping, fullness in ovaries, I've had three small waves of nausea today!! Come on over to ttc buddy groups and join buddy group #3.

Niki I'm sorry to hear that news. What's the next step?

I go for my HSG tomorrow at noon and I'm scared! I've been crying for no reason at all my doctor appointments, they must think I'm insane!

For anyone who's interested, I went for the HSG today. Very quick procedure, but slightly uncomfortable. It feels like severe menstrual cramps while having a Pap smear. And it doesn't help when the radiologist is telling you to slide forward and then back while under an X-ray and heels in stirrups. The pain just feels like muscle cramping and pressure, but it's scary because you're not sure if it's going to get worse. It didn't.

Good news is, the radiologist said he "was pleased" with the results and saw no blockages. Now I'm freaking about what else could be wrong, like bad or non existent eggs. Nobody reminded me to get my CD3 labs, so now I have to wait until next cycle to get these labs and then do my follow-up consultation with the RE to review all of the findings. Doh!

Will keep posting with updates in case someone in the future can benefit from my experiences. :-)
