Hysteroscopy anyone?

Postby BuffaloMaple » Mon Jan 30, 2017 5:44 pm

My RE has recommended a hysteroscopy this month to get a better look at a polyp seen in my ultrasounds/HSG. Can anyone describe their Hysteroscopy experience? My nurse told me it would be "a little less crampy than an HSG." For my HSG they gave me a shot of anesthetic in my cervix which was traumatizing! I'm just praying they don't do that for hysteroscopies too.

Also, polyp removal surgery anyone?? What can I expect?? Thanks!

Hey there,I had both a histeroscopy and a hsg,you will be put under for the histeroscopy so you won't feel a thing,I didn't had anything removed and I can't say how the recovery will be after that but mine was pretty easy,no pain after just a bit of bleeding.

I had my diagnostic Hysteroscopy yesterday. I was awake and it wasn't bad at all! I think my RE office is really up to date on technology, so the camera was super tiny and they barely put any water solution in to expand my uterus. I had no cramping and it was actually more comfortable than some of my IUIs. Now I'm just waiting to hear from the doctor if a surgical Hysteroscopy will be needed to remove the polyp.
