Am I infertile?

Postby GenieInABottle15 » Sat Feb 18, 2017 2:08 pm

Am I considered infertile if I'm able to conceive just fine but am having difficulty carrying to term? I have yet to get passed 6 weeks 5 days, with my 4 miscarriages. Been through genetic testing with my fiance and we are fine. Perhaps it's my uterus or tubes, not sure but needing to get more testing done soon.
Just wanted to know if I am cause for some reason I feel like I'm the minority and all the articles I've come across are women who are unable to conceive. Most forums I've seen are the same too. I just want some hope. I'm freaking out cause I tend to symptom spot every month and along with a BFP comes fear not excitement...It sucks....
It may be weird that I am looking to be considered infertile, but I'm just confused. To me it means that one is unable to have children. Period. Not just not being able to conceive.
Ugh I don't even know why this is such a big deal for me....I hope I'm not alone :(

Im sorry to hear about ur losses,I had one myself and it was horrible.Have you been tested for blood clotting disorder? How about natural killer cells, also you should ask for histeroscopy in case something in ur uterus prevents a pregnancy.
As for the answer to ur question I have no idea what to answer.....

Drs can treat recurrent loss like they do inability to get pregnant but it isn't exactly the same thing. It's mostly just semantics though.

For example when my sister did IVF they considered a BFP as a success whether or not it stuck. Sadly none of them stuck but they count it towards their statistics of success.

If you have had more than 3 losses most Drs will start testing with blood work, hormone levels, physical exams etc... to see if they can pinpoint the cause and treat it. It doesn't mean it has a genetic cause. It could be low progesterone, incompetent cervix, endometriosis, chromosome abnormalities, or a ton of other things.

The fact you have had genetic testing with no findings is good. If you haven't had other tests you should ask for them. They may also ask if you want to try fertility treatment, but I think it depends on the dr.

This is a big deal because you want to be a mother. It is obvious. Don't be so nervous. There are a lot of women, which are unable to give birth. I had 2 miscarriages and one stillbirth, when my doctor said that I should stop trying. It is just dangerous for my health. Despite all the difficulties such as infertility and divorce I am a happy mother now. I wouldn't explain what is the surrogacy. You might know it. The guys from BioTexCom helped me to get my twin boys. They were born 6 months ago. This all happened thanks to my second husband. He found the reproduction center and brought me there. This is how much he wanted to be a father.
You know, it is very important to believe in positive result. Even if you are infertile, you still can become a parent. If you are reading this forum, you had to see a lot of stories of success. It is very important to keep trying. Modern medicine is developing rapidly. Doctors are doing everything possible to make women give birth. So, why not to ask for help?
By the way, my sister has one own baby born and one adopted boy. I'm so proud of her. She saved this baby, which was left by his parents. Don't you want to do the same? I know that it's a great pleasure to feel a baby in your womb. But, sometimes we have no choice.
Anyway, dear, I wish you all the best. Go take your tests and find out the reason of your problems. It will help you to find the solution. Let us know how are you doing.

I’m sorry you can’t carry a baby. I know how hard it is because I was in the same situation. I had one miscarriage when I was young. At that time I just met my husband and we were dating for a couple of months. Anyway, we were happy to become parents because we were in love. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen. After the wedding we started ttc immediately. We were ready to become parents, that’s why we were trying really hard. After two years ttc we started visiting reproduction clinics and medical centers. We wanted to find out what was the reason of our infertility. Doctors kept saying that we were fine and we just had to keep trying. We tried a lot of treatments and even IVF. Nothing helped but we kept trying every single day.
I have no words to explain how frustrated I was. I was so tired and disappointed. I didn’t want to make tests because I knew the result. They all were negative. That’s how we spent 10 years of our marriage. We were even ready to adopt. But my mother recommended me to read about surrogacy. I really appreciate her for such a great help. We found the reproduction center, which offered this service. It was located abroad and the price was pretty low. I couldn’t believe my happiness when our surrogate got pregnant. You know, it was like a miracle. Now I know that even infertile couples can have babies. And what is the most important, our son is genetically related to my husband and me. He even looks like my husband. Now I have two amazing men in my family. I still don’t believe it happened. That’s why I wish you the same. Be strong, dear. You have enough powers to get your lovely baby.

It often happens that a woman can't carry the baby. As for me it is something unexplained. Our body can just reject the baby. Sounds horrible to me but it's true. My doctor explained me that some women are not strong enough to give birth. For example, I've never been pregnant. I'm just unable to conceive. We were ttc for a long time but nothing happened. It was the main reason for our divorce. Now I am a mom and I have a boyfriend. My daughter was born by the surrogate. Just like girls above said, it really works. You just have to believe that you can change your life. Don't follow my example and don't give up. I remember those times. It was awful.
