Hi!

Oh my gosh how terrible, why all the sudden would you have such painful ovulation? Did you have anything like that previously?? I'm so sorry how awful, hopefully not every month will be like that! And to be alone with Samu on top of it all was probably another worry while you're already in pain :(

I'm glad to hear he's doing better at daycare! Adjusting to going back to work will definitely take time, its rough going back. I'm not looking forward to going back at all, we only get 8 weeks off for c-sections, that's hardly any time at all with a new baby before you have to send them to daycare or a sitter. It's really a crappy feeling. Another few weeks or so and hopefully you'll be adjusted and back In the groove of work schedule.

I'm glad you're meeting with your surgeon! Getting some answers or finding closure is always a blessing and takes away worry/fear! Once you get answers maybe it'll be time for another bfp!!!??? ;) ;)

We go back to the pediatrician on Thursday for a weight check and head measurements. I'm so curious to know if and how much weight she's put on! We got lucky, she's such a good baby! We've not heard anything on the genetics appointment yet, that still needs scheduled. They are going to do monthly head measurements to make sure her brain/head grow properly and In proportion with her body. Other than that it'll be weight checks and measurements for now, as she gets older and progresses there will be more evaluations but we will take everything one step at a time. On Thursday she will be 4 weeks old already!!

Today is our first day back to school! I'll admit I am a little saddened that my two older kids are gone :( I have a torn feeling like I should be at work but also be at home with Kensi, i don't know what I'm gonna do.. it's such a tough decision....

I hope your day is going well, talk to you soon!!

Hi!

How did the pediatric's checkup go??? Any news? Don't they normally do head measurements for babies there? They do the head circumference at each appointment here, so that's why I'm asking.

Wow, time flies with babies, 4 weeks already, huh?!!! How is she doing? And you? BTW, Kensi is a lovely name!

I think the ovulation was painful because it was the first one on the right since my periods even started again. And it appears the ovarian cysts are somehow attached to the uterus, so I'm guessing it just all made it into a painful one. I certainly hope that it won't be like that again, ever!

I stay undecided on whether or not to have another baby, for several reasons. But I admit that I get this "baby fever" every now and then. But then I get frustrated with DH and the feeling goes away.

Have a great weekend! It's supposed to rain today, so we're probably going to stay inside, do some cleaning etc., but tomorrow we've made plans to go to a fair with Samu's godparents. They're expecting their second child and we haven't seen them since the spring.

Hi!!

It went good! She's 4lbs1oz, she grew 1.5 inches in length and her head circumference is up by 1/4 of an inch! They do the head circumference at the appointments that should be scheduled but all these extra weight checks and stuff they haven't been checking everytime. She had to get a shot which is tough, she has no fat and hardly any muscle :( she has to get 2 shots on each leg next appointment:(

We are both doing good. Finally starting to get back into the swing of a new daily rhythm with a baby. She's a good baby, I'm really lucky! Everyone who sees her name spelled has pronounced it like ken-see but it's pronounced like ken-Zee we just changed up the spelling.

I hope it won't be that painful again too. That's awful! The cysts are connected to your uterus? Oh my gosh!!

I find myself really frustrated with my dh all over again as well. It's so frustrating...

How was the fair? Did you enjoy your time with your friends?

Is Samu feeling better?

Have you gone to your appointment with your surgeon to find out what happened with your recovery?? How'd it go or when do you go?

Hi!

It's great to hear that she's growing so well! :) I'm sure it's heartbreaking to watch them stick needles into her tiny legs. :( But it's a good thing that she gets the medical care she needs!

It's tough being a mom, isn't it? But also so rewarding! I'm glad to hear she's such a good baby! :hb:

I now have a pretty painful period, it started two weeks after the killer ovulation... It's good to know that I am regular, at least. And luckily the painkillers help! I'm just dreading the next time I ovulate... *knocks on wood*

Samu still has a flu of sorts, but it's not bad enough that he should stay at home. He basically has a runny nose and that's it. We did, however, take him to a private clinic last week because there were a few pretty bad nights, and the specialist told us that no, he didn't have an ear infection but he needs to get his tongue tie, throat and ears operated on, preferably all at once. The tongue tie is the reason he puked up so much when he was a baby, and it will most likely affect his speech if it's not dealt with... There's a part of the throat that's susceptible to infections and causes him to snore while he sleeps, and if he gets more infections in his ears, putting tubes in might help.

It was the first time someone actually mentioned the tongue tie (I'd suspected it for a long time but decided it couldn't be because he gained weight so well) and I feel angry that my suspicions were ignored at all the checkups we went to and I mentioned the puking... The whole thing would have been so much easier to deal with when he was a newborn than what it will be now that he's older. :(

We decided to take a month and see if he gets any more ear infections and then we're supposed to get in touch with the doctor.

I am going to see the surgeon who operated on me during our fall holiday in mid-October. I still have plenty of time to make a list of all the things that still bother me about the whole birth experience.

I hope you're having a good week! Let me know how you're doing. :)

Hi!

How is everything going? Is Samu feeling better yet? Is work good?

I hope that not every ovulation and period aren’t that terrible! It’s nice to have confirmation that your body is doing everything right but darn pain like that is crazy!

My daughter had multiple surgeries to have tubes either put in or taken out of her ears. That’s not terrible and the pain is minimal with that. The adenoids, is that what you’re talking about in his throat? Or tonsils maybe? She had both her tonsils and adenoids removed as well. That was a little tougher pain wise but it still wasn’t over the top. She’s not good with pain so as long as I kept the Tylenol/Motrin in her she tolerated that surgery well too so hopefully Samu will do well and tolerate it all well if he ends up having to get it done.

I don’t know much about a tongue tie?? Why does it make him puke?

I hope you get the answers you’re looking for! You went through a lot with the whole situation! You deserve to get answers!!

We are good! I feel good and Kensi is doing great!! My older two have the back to school germs and had colds. They are both getting better but I think Kensi caught just a tad bit of it :(

Any weekend plans? It’s going to be nice so we are going to close up our pool, get the lawn mowed and put away all our flower pots and garden stuff. Getting ready for winter unfortunately..

Hi!

How have you been doing? I hope Kensi didn’t catch the bugs from your older kids!

I’ve had a rough couple of weeks: Samu’s been constantly ill and we’ve visited the doctor for a couple of times now. I believe he has/had bronchitis because his breathing was/has been labored and he has a bad cough. We got medication to help his breathing but we’ve also had to give him painkillers because he seems to have had quite a bad headache. :( In addition to having really rough nights (and days), juggling who’s going to work and who’s staying at home has been tiring. And on top of that I’ve had to write instructions to the substitute teacher/teachers. I’m so ready for Samu to get over this flu season you have no idea!

I believe the thing in his throat needing an operation is adenoids. The tongue tie causes reflux and other things, including pain while breastfeeding, but luckily it’s only been painful while he’s teething (which he is now, of course, on top of everything). What the doctor was worried about is the fact that a tongue tie may prevent normal speech development and the pronunciation of the letter ‘r’, for example.

It appears this month’s ovulation was okay, I have no idea when I O’d. Thank goodness!

I’ll talk to you later, I just wanted to let you know that I’m still here. :)

When are you going back to work?

Here’s an update:

I’m currently at the hospital because it turned out that Samu has a severe-ish case of pneumonia, and he’s receiving i.v. fluids and antibiotics. We’ll probably have to stay here a few days.

Meanwhile, DH (not so dear, really) is planning on going to work tomorrow, business as usual. :(

Hi!

Unfortunately Kensi caught the cold from the older kids. She was miserable for over a week. She’s finally at the end of it, it was terrible seeing her so congested :(

Poor Samu.. I can’t believe they didn’t treat him or catch this earlier :( have you left the hospital yet? That really sucks that your Dh didn’t stay with you guys while in the hospital :( Is Samu feeling better yet?? I’m sure it’s been hard and tiring on you as well with all this going on.

The adenoids weren’t terrible to deal with recovery wise. It wasn’t an easy stroll in the park but she wasn’t in excruciating pain and screaming. Fx for Samu if he has to have it done that it’s not terrible for him either.

Idk when I’m going back to work. The school is filled with yucky cold/flu germs. I really don’t want to bring that back home to Kensi. Financially I’m going to be forced to go back but I really didn’t want to until the first of the new year. I don’t really have anyone to watch Kensi is a big part as to why I’m not rushing back yet. She’s just going to be 8 weeks and it’s so hard to leave them that young. But on a positive note she’s almost 6 pounds!! I couldn’t believe it but I’m so happy!!

I hope you guys are feeling better, have a relaxing week!!

Hi!

Wow, six pounds already, that’s awesome! I’m sorry she got sick, poor baby! It’s good to hear that she’s doing better already!

We stayed in the hospital until Thursday afternoon, but Samu can’t go to daycare until the two courses of antibiotics he’s on are done with. That won’t be until next Wednesday evening. He’s feeling a lot better already but we’re going back to the hospital tomorrow morning to get the infection levels checked out.

It took some doing, but I managed to make his father see that it’s his turn to stay with his son, so I am going back to work on Monday. I have so much grading etc. backed up that it’s crazy! After next week it’s the fall holiday week, so I’m hoping to catch up some then.

I know going back to work is troubling, but you will be fine with the decision you make.

Have a great weekend!

Good evening!!

Poor Samu. This has been a terrible start at going to daycare :( such a horrible sickness for the little guy is awful, I hate when kids get sick. Is he feeling better yet?

I’m glad to hear your Dh stayed with your son so you could get a bit of a break and back to work. I’m slways the main care giver for our kids in our house as well. My Dh doesn’t know what to do with them when they’re sick.

Kensi just went to her 2 month appointment yesterday. She’s 7 pounds!!! I can’t believe how well she’s doing, I’m so happy with how she’s gaining. We have some upcoming tests within the next few months then we should be done with all of her testing.

I’m applying for a different position in the school. Instead of working in the classrooms as an aide I’d be on the busses as an aide . I’d work split shifts 3 hours in the morning then I’d have 3 hours at home with Kensi then 3 hours in the afternoon at the release of school. That way i won’t be gone for one long shift all day.

I hope you guys are doing well and Samu is getting better! Enjoy your week!
