Starting over every month

Postby unpatientwaiter » Sun Jun 29, 2014 4:37 pm

I am the only one who hates starting over every month. I just dont know how much more I can take. At this point last year I just knew I would have a child by now. I know that AF will be here tomorrow as I tested today, 14dpo and it was BFN. Im exasperated. Please help me. :|

Sorry unpatient. :( How old are you?

Hubs and I decided we will only try for a year. If it doesn't happen by then we will adopt. We will start to explore specific options if it hasn't happened yet after 9mos. I cannot handle waiting longer than that. I am turning 34 this year and we are just ready now. We should have started sooner. I think I am in the minority though. It seems like most folks I talk to or see online just keep trying for years if they have to.

My point is, I am early in the process but each month feels like an eternity when TTC. I am comforted knowing that we have a plan though.

HI Mintastic... I am going to be 28 this year and I am glad that I started earlier, and I wish I had know I should have started when I was 25. I actually started at late 26yrs and now Im turning 28. its devastating each month but I dont know what more to do. Im seeing and RE now and I decided to be more proactive now. I am going to try and do 2 IUIs this month. and do injectibles. I never thought id have a baby this way.

Good luck and prayers to you!

I don't know if you are in the US like me but I feel our education/healthcare systems and overall culture do a really crappy job of preparing us for the realities of pregnancy. There is so much focus on NOT getting pregnant that kids are scared into believing that you have sex unprotected one time you will immediately get pregnant - which I understand is POSSIBLE but no wonder women raised in that culture are then shocked/saddened/impatient when they wait and it takes a while.

Mintastic - exactly, we've been told to be careful as you can get pregnant right away after having sex once. And here I am having sex several times on the most fertile days and nothing has happened in 36 months! And I mean great cycles with BDing about 3 times during ovulation... I'm so unhappy. My friend got pregnant 2 weeks after she told me they are going to try to have a baby... It's so unfair.

Sopphie and Mintastic i do understand what you mean. I dont even know what to do anymore. 34 months is a long long time sopphie and Im so sorry for you. this month my doc took me off all medication and I am scared to death of going back to my irregular cycles. I was on femara for 6 months and nothing happened and we found out that my dh has a low sperm count. he is on fertilaid for men but I have to remind him to take it every day and that is a chore. Im trying to stay patient and understand that everything happens for a reason. but that is so hard when other people just fall pregnant.

I feel so selfish for wondering when it will ever be my turn.

I am sorry love. I think adoption is truly a noble cause! I commend you for that! I hope you fall pregnant soon. If it matters- I knew someone who adopted after 5 years of TTC... she signed the papers...and then a month later....got pregnant... with twins..naturally. They needed to move. It's just that irony you know.... good luck love.

and its in no way selfish to wonder if its your turn... or to turn green with envy with every pregnant person you see- be easy on yourself- this is a challenging time for you
