Hey, Reegan - I am with you on the thread you started in General TTC, but I wanted to comment here too. My doctor laughed at me (well, not really LAUGHED, but you know what I mean) when I asked her if she thought my age had anything to do with my miscarriage. I am 34 and she said that I was still very young and it had NOTHING to do with it. She also said that age wouldn't be a factor in trying to conceive again. She said that they don't even worry about that until you've reached your forties.

So we are still young when it comes to the TTC world. At least that is some good news for us, right?

I don't want to butt in, but please don't listen to an OB that says you don't have to worry about your fertility until 40. That is the biggest lie ever. There is a reason that past 35 you only try for 6 months before seeing an RE and not an OB, and why they get progressively more aggressive past 30.

Age also DOES affect your egg quality, and the rate of miscarriage does go up as we age.

Thats not to say that is what happened to either of you, but I wouldn't want you to be caught off guard later down the road in the worst case scenario.

Hiya, Itskels! Just got my paperwork from the Dr (might have already said that), so I'm excited to meet them and see if it's a good fit. That research was frightening, right?!? How're you other than that?

Ladies- I think the best thing to do is trust yourself and do what's best yourself-- it's so confusing because what works for one person might not for another.....

I posted earlier on about my positive test weeks after my
Miscarriage. Finally my hcg levels went down to 7, 8 weeks after my miscarriage! My dr said I could start trying again straight away and even let me take clomid my first cycle! As long as your emotionally ready there were no problems she said x

Radkitten, perhaps my OB was talking about just me and my scenario and not the population in general. She said that since I've had one child full term that she knows my body can do it again. So perhaps she was just being optimistic for me.

I don't know...all I know is what she told me. She's been my doctor for about fifteen years now, she delivered my son, and is in a very large office with many other doctors. So I trust her opinion.

Hi Mel,
Guess what my friend and her baby are doing great!!! She was discharged from the hospital the baby has to stay for two more weeks because she is premi but she is doing well

Welcome reeganmcd,
I’m really sorry for your lost… I don’t think age has much to do with it I’m going to be thirty in November and my doctor told me that being in our thirties isn’t a bad thing and that we still have time…. One of my co-workers had her first baby at 39 and my grandmother started having babies at 31 and ended up having 6 and one still born…. Some ladies also become pregnant before af arrives and have perfectly healthy babies… If you are emotionally ready I say go for it..

Eribear,
Finding the right Doctor its sooooo hard BUT it so good when you finally find one 
I’m okay just been doing a lot of exercising… Through all this I gained 20 pounds ahhhh.(has anyone else gained a lot of weight) . I lost 5 already but I’m hoping to lose ten more before AF is due OR get my BFP! I actually feel pretty good physically and emotionally… I’m a bit nervous about my Doctor’s appointment …. My boyfriend and I have been flirting a lot lately getting ready for BD time …

Elisawood,
That’s great that you got the okay to start trying again… Good luck to you!

We have to stay positive despite all the heartbreak and sadness… We are never going to forget out angels… But we have to keep our hearts opened for our rainbow babies….

I wanted to share this story with you ladies…. When I was about 9 years old my aunt had a baby at 7 months… She named her son Angel he was only 2 pounds when he was born and he passed away when he was about a month old. My aunt went into deep depression and all she would do is cry until when day an Angel came to her in a dream and told her to stop crying because her tears were keeping her babies’ wings wet and he couldn’t fly up to heaven….
With that being said she stopped crying and ended up having another son who is now 16 years old….

MEL- I understand that, and maybe it is specific to you, and if so, awesome!

There is just a huge issue with the media, regular doctors, etc portraying TTC as easy to do at 35+ and that is just not the case. OB's are great for birthing babies and monitoring pregnancies, but they are not fertility specialists. I've seen so many women told the same things only to reach that point and run into issues due to age. Which is why I always strongly urge people to go see an RE after a year rather than wasting time at an OB's office.

This is a good chart for the breakdown: http://www.babycenter.com/0_chart-the-e ... ty_6155.bc

But like I said, if it is specific to you, then awesome :D

@Itskels - your aunt story totally gave me the chills. Thats a very touching story.

Eribear- I totally agree. Everyone is very different. What works for one person doesnt for another. I think age is just a number since infertility can hit anyone at any age. There are females in their very early 20s that can't. I think the biggest concern at an older age is menopause. For example my family history is we start very early in our mid 30s; so for ME TTC in my 30s will be risky. Everyone is different. As for mc there are reasons more times than none that we can't control and will more than likely never know why. We all just need to have faith that our day will come.

Hey All,

I went to my doctor's appointment on Friday for my results... My ultrasound and blood work came out normal... But my pap came back abnormal... I had to get a colposcopy and with that he did a biopsy as well... bf and I have been bding all week... Now I which I would've waited. He said that he did the colposcopy as a precaution and that I don't need to worry but I'm so scared... I never got one done before...

If it's not one thing it's the other..

Hope everyone else is doing well....

Hi mexicanchick718

He told me that he would call me if the results come back abnormal .... He said he doesn't think that it would... From the looks of things everything looks normal..

(fingers crossed)

I'm 3dpo.... No symptoms of anything yet ..

How are things with you?

Is anyone else in the two week wait?

Itskels - I have abnormal paps all the time, and have had 3 colposcopy ( 1 a year) with one of them being done while pregnant... They take biopsy's too.. most of the time it is just for pre-caution... You should be fine.. they can tell if there is really something to worry about while they are in there...
Cheers :)Reegan
