Hi ladies....

The time has come for be to start TTC again, and I was just wondering when the rest of you decided to start again.

I was also wondering if there was anything you did to make your lining thicker.

I tried before the first AF but didn't happen...we will keep trying.

I am worried about the lining, because when i m/c i had heavy blood only one day(not really heavy and slight cramping only) and after that 2 days of light bleeding(very light) and my first AF was medium bleeding :| Maybe my lining is very thin??

I had a blighted ovum back in Aug 2007. Had a d&c. Got AF Oct 5th, I wanted to make sure my cycles were coming on time andregular. So Nov 5th then Dec 5th,and after Dec AF we tried and got pregnant with Noah. Saddly Noah passed away at 15weeks and I gave birth to him at 16 weeks. That was April 2. Got my first AF May 6th,which blew me away. I kept asking my DR how come so soon. I also afew days ago for the heck of it,cause AF was so bad. Took a opk test and my test line was darker then the control line. guess the body bounces back soon. I am now awaiting to see if she shows up the same date again. I feel the need for one more try and don't want to wait but at the same time I am very scared.

Kelly.... your story really touches me. I just wanted to say that.

As for returning cycles, it IS amazing how the body just "knows" what to do. Within 1 cycle my body was back on track.

Good luck to you!

Hi enixie99. I haven't talked to you in a while. I hope you are doing well.

My doc said to wait 3 cycles but I am only waiting 2. I just got my first AF yesterday from last months D&E. I talked to other girls and some of their doctors said to go ahead after 1 AF, so I am comprimising and starting after another visit from her. I have a friend that had a D&C last year and was going through IVF. Her doc was going to do IVF again after her first AF after the D&C but the timing was bad so she decided against it and waited until she wasn't traveling as much. I think it all depends on the doc.

I heard that Vit. B6 and Wheat Germ help your lining. I am currently taking both. Can't hurt. I am willing to eat cow poop if it gets me another baby!

Hi ladies

I had a D&C May 14th so I am still awaiting 1st AF to start trying again. My midwife said to wait 1 cycle and try again. But I have an appt with my doc on Monday so I will ask her what she thinks.

I too would be interested to hear if theres anything out there to help thicken your lining.

ufgus - so happy to hear from you. I will definitely have to try the wheat germ and B6 vitamin.... And you're right! If cow poop would get me preggo and keep me preggo, bring on the piles! :D

Also, happy to hear you got your firt AF. That one is the hardest to wait for.

i had my m/c on 4/21, 6 wks on mon, no af yet. my fertility dr wants to wait 3 cycles before doing fet ivf (got preg w/ the twins i lost on 1st ivf attempt in feb). after next af i get a hysteroscopy to make sure the inside of my uterus is ok. after next af i can try. i wanted to rush at 1st but i don't think i'm physically or mentally over the m/c enough to be there 100% for a preg - although i want to be preg more than anything. i'm just so down still.

I just read somewhere that a woman was prescribed to take 81mg of aspirin to help thicken her lining in preperation for in vitro. Hrm.... looks like I'll be doing the same.

Was it regular asprin or baby asprin? Once a day? Did it help her lining or is she still waitng for the transfer?

This is exactly what I read...

"One of the key parameters we monitor during a fertility treatment cycle is the development of the endometrial lining: both thickness and pattern. Our aim is to achieve a lining with a minimum thickness of >=7mm, and a trilaminar (or triple) pattern of the endometrial layers, by the day of HCG administration. For some patients, we cannot obtain this type of a lining, despite various hormonal manipulations.

For these patients, and even many without endometrial lining issues, we will typically recommend that she take a baby aspirin per day (81 mg) starting with gonadotropin stimulation. The rational for the use of baby aspirin is that on a micro-vascular level, vasodilation and decreased blood platelet aggregation occurs and therefore improves blood flow to the uterine lining, providing a lining with functional improvement. Blood platelets are the blood cells, which promote blood clotting. Two well designed studies confirm the benefit of baby aspirin use in improving pregnancy rates for patients with endometrial linings <8mm. It is important to note that the lining does not necessarily thicken with the use of baby aspirin - this is a qualitative improvement. It is also important to take only a baby aspirin, NOT a full dose aspirin. "

But... I have also read that this thins blood slightly, so it is used more to prevent clotting.

I also read that there really medication aside from progesterone treatments to thicken the lining, but that increased consistent blood flow to the area makes a considerable difference. Having an orgasm is the easiest way to obtain that.

Red raspberry leaf tea is also thought to help.

A nice natural way to promote a thicker lining is to use a warming pad (those rubber water "bottles") every day before O. I use it after O too 'cause of my endo and my body's patterns tend towards coldness. I don't have an issue with lining thickness per se 'cause my lining is SO THICK, but the warming helps to increase blood flow to the area and results in a thicker, healthier (due to more oxygen) uterus. I also drink Raspberry Leaf Tea...and I'm sure I have all of the B vitamins and Omega3's in my supplements and diet.

Just what I do.... ;) And I had a D&C with my laparoscopy (just to clean out anything small that they may have overlooked with the lap- I've never been PG though) and my Dr. said I could try whenever I felt up to it- for me 2 weeks after. I had a light AF for about 3 days, 1 week after my surgery, 2 days later than my scheduled AF for the cycle. (I usually get AF for 5 days plus some very light spotting or a day or two after.)

HTH! I'm truly sorry for your losses... :hugs:

I think the wait period depends on your doc and how far along you were before the procedure itself. I am hoping my OB gives me the green light to TTC soon but since my AF's have been strange post D&C, that might set us back

i was told after my missed miscarriage to wait one natural cycle, i had many a problems after my currette and ended up having to pass it naturally 3 weeks post op. They left remaining tissue well 95% they left but anyway, so i waited for my natural which ended up coming 9 weeks from my original currette, so my AF is due tomorrow this is my first month of trying again fingers crossed!
