Is a FRER even worth it?

Postby 3shapedglasses » Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:14 pm

I am still getting faint positives on the IC. You can see the line before the test dries, it is definitely there but they are light. You can't even see how pink they are until they dry which is taking a very long time. Would you consider these evaps? I feel like maybe I am getting my hopes up. I am having pinches in my back and my right ovary.

how many DPO are you? I found that IC's take a while to dry, but usually the result is good.

I personally don't care for FRER cuz I get BFNs in the early stages. I get better results from CVS or target generic brand blue dye tests. But, yes, Yes pee away on anything you can catch!

If you want to know for sure then I would definitely go for an FRER. You want to know for sure right?

I hope this is your BFP!

It's possible. There are plenty of women on here who get BFP's that early. But if you're worried about wasting $$ on an FRER just to get BFN then maybe wait a couple more days. Good luck!

It could show up, my opinion is to get a FRER and test tomorrow with FMU. IC's can lead to heartbreak.

9dpo is early.. with my last daughter i tested at 9dpo to see if i could have a drink or not.. came up negative so i had almost a full bottle of wine... 2 days later i tested again and had the faintest line.. was shocked.. then at 12dpo i got a beta done and it was only at 11..14dpo -47.. now she is a happy and healthy 14 month old.. wishing you all the best for ur future tests :)

I said 'no' to the poll because of the outrageous price of FRERs.

Okay so a lot of ladies get their early BFPs on them.. but I say why bother spending $14 to find out, and then continue buying tests afterwards? Its pretty rare on this site that ladies get a slight line and DONT go out and buy more tests
Personally I think its a waste of time and money and messes with your emotions too much to test at 8 or 9 or even 10dpo. FRER arent notorious for evaps but Ive seen a few ladies get evaps from them

I just think that the cheapo $ store tests are a better buy. Sure, they might give evaps but if the 'evaps' start getting darker over the course of a few days.. thats just as accurate as having a + frer in my eyes

Its nice to know definitively whether youre pregnant or not. But even so,
Ive had evaps on $ tests and backed it up with an expensive FRER (BFN) and I stilll didnt believe that I had a BFN on my hands. I kept testing anyway and ended getting AF

So yeah, they are accurate but I dont think its worth the money. Id rather get 15 $store tests and pee on several a day.

Because no matter what.. after a certain point in your pregnancy even a cheapie test is going to be just as accurate as a FRER or other expensive test.

i have seen so many poeple getting believable evaps on dollar store tests that they get the hopes up and when they use the more reliable brand their hopes and dreams come crashing down on them like a ton of bricks.. i would much rather a test that isnt going to give out false hope.

in australia i am glad we dont have dollar store tests.. and you can get a three pack of FRER for 13 bucks..

so i personally think FRER is a better option if you dont want to have your dreams smashed by cheapo tests. but each to their own.

With DD, my FRER did not show any line until 12dpo and my numbers were very high (540!).

I hear alot about 9dpo lines, but I've never got one. THere are other tests out there besides FRER.

my favorite all time test , at least with my last 3 kids is DOLLAR TREE i got faint lines on them before any other test, and as early as 8dpo, but i also like frer gold. i just got my bfp at 12 or 13 dpo, they are very sensitive, and it is nice to see the word YES, it is easier to show hubby digi's ,he cant read lines, and i only paid 15 bucks for a 2pack of frer gold.

I also say go w/dollar store tests until you see a line then use a frer. I got a bfp with a dollar store before a frer!!
