6 weeks and still not beating the control

Postby kesney05 » Wed Mar 22, 2017 5:37 am

I'm getting really worried. My tests continue to stay the same for several days. I have bad nausea so that's promising but I know that with my past pregnancies I was definitely beating the control by now.

Cheapies can be pretty unreliable for progression. Have you tried any other brand? Maybe take a digi with weeks to ease your mind?

Why don't you have your betas done?? Those tests aren't the best indicator of your hcg levels they max out and maybe this particular batch won't beat the control line. If your nauseated that's a good sign.

So I tried an experiment and diluted my pee with half water....I must be experiencing the hook effect because it's definitely darker. I'm feeling much better now. Thanks everyone

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for cheapies to beat the control line. I'm 16 weeks pregnant and my tests look like yours. I did the hook effect test and it didn't change anything. I did get a random test that beat the control but only once when I was about 6 weeks.

But it looks like perhaps you may be experiencing the hook effect. Try it again and see if it still works!

I was totally going to chime in and mention the hook effect. I would say at this stage, put down the cheapies and back away very slowly! They'll drive a good woman mad! Only way to really know is to get repeat betas done but I think its def hook effect. :D
