So sorry for not responding sooner, I have so much trouble with tww on my phone!

BeeCee - I lost my right ovary when I was 19 to the same kind of dermoid cyst/tumor. I think part of the reason I lost the ovary was because the cyst was on the bigger side (9cm). Back then they told me I had nothing to worry about and I was never encouraged to get follow ups. My current OB says that more research has become available in the last 10 years and apparently there's a 20% you'll get another dermoid on the same ovary and at least a 20% chance of getting one on the other ovary. He also says they technology and approach to the surgery has changed a lot in the past few years and it's much more likely that there will be enough ovarian tissue left for normal function. He basically told me the only reason he'd remove the whole ovary is if it looks cancerous or if for some reason he can't stop the bleeding once the ovary is cut (both he's assured me are very, very, very unlikely). Since I got this positive test I grilled him about any possibilities that it could cause or make a miscarriage more likely and he said no, but I totally understand wondering! I also have low AMH but he seemed to think the two were unrelated.

Interesting. My doctor said mine was about the size of a nectarine, so... Pretty big I guess! He just said all was good. I didn't need to worry about it after that. I'll definitely ask them to keep an eye on things. I just had an US where he looked at both ovaries and said they appear healthy, so I'm guessing he would have seen something if there was another one!

BeeCee- yeah that does sound big! Glad they were able to save that ovary. It's good that they are checking up on it, sound like it hasn't come back.

I just got the results from from second blood draw, hcg is now 37 (it was 6 48 hours ago). I'm still nervous but feeling much more optimistic now. Nurse scheduled an early ultrasound in 2 weeks, not really sure why as I won't even be 6 weeks, but I'm grateful that they want to monitor me closely. Here's my test from this morning.

The nurse just called to say I'm officially pregnant and surgery is canceled, early ultrasound scheduled in two weeks... which seems odd to me since I won't even be 6 weeks but I was too excited and shocked to ask questions.
