Ugh (dollar store) test lighter today. Seriously not ready for this again. Please think positive thoughts for me! Here is the thread I started about it with pics. Your thoughts? http://www.twoweekwait.com/community/mo ... 47#2390447

Awww Miranda, don't worry too much yet. It's so early. I know that it's fairly soon after your m/c, but if you start to worry yourself too much it's going to put too much stress on your body... IMHO, your SMU does look darker, which is a plus.

Misti - I miss chatting with you all too.

AFM - It's been rough here at the Windes' residence. Spent the weekend emptying out my daughter's room because she has been so disrespectful. DH walked into her room this morning and she was playing her DS. Boy did the s$#t hit the fan. I am at my wits end with DD. I refuse to raise a child like my sister has raised her kids (disrespectful, selfish, self-centered, lack of drive and ambition), but I can't seem to get away from it. She'd rather do what she wants to do and deal with the consequences later. I just don't know what to do anymore. :(

Hi ladies,

Miranda, congrats! I think the test def look darker. Like Cat said, try not to worry. Easier said than done I know. I'm sending you sticky vibes! X

Cat, what did DD do? I'm sure its just her age and if you stay firm, she will soon learn. I totally agree with being firm. It will help her in the long run.

Hope everyone else is well.

AFM, sorry I haven't posted over weekend, its been crazy busy here. We had my bro-in-laws wedding on Sat and a friends 30th yesterday. It's been great though. I do have some bad news though - I have stretch marks! I'm so gutted. Nevermind all reminders of the wonders of growing life inside me.

Jade - I'm glad you had such a fun weekend! As for the stretch marks, I so smell what you're stepping in! I have stretch marks in areas I didn't know even existed. Hang in there, hopefully it'll get better. I'm going to have to catch up on the answers you gave me for all my questions. I'll probably post my thoughts on that tomorrow. :)

It's not been just one thing, it's been repeated times and it was just the straw that broke the camels back. As for DD, here are the problems we're dealing with:

1. Constant back talk
2. Arguing
3. Lying
4. Straight out stink'n attitude about the smallest things
5. Sneaking her DS after having all toys taken away
6. Says she finishes her chores, when actually she's hiding things to make it look like she's done it.

Here's what we've tried doing as discipline:

Positives:
1. Responsibility Chart (chores, following rules, and being respectful) with rewards given when full weeks were completed (She never made it through to a completed week).
2. Daily Ultimate Challenges that was rewarded when completed (She lasted 3 days and stopped wanting to do them)
3. Allowed her to earn her allowance for completed work (She never completes her work)

Negatives:
1. grounded
2. Removed toys
3. Long talks with explanation
4. Short talks to the point
5. Today sadly she received her first real spanking

I know a lot of people don't agree with corporal punishment, but here's my thing. While my mom went way overboard with the corporal punishment, I also had respect for my friends but especially adults, wasn't selfish or self-centered, did what I was told, was trustworthy, etc. I wasn't lazy, I became a hard working adult (until this last year, and now I'm a hard working adult at home :) ) So, since nothing else has worked, this is what we were left with today. It wasn't a "beating" by any means. It was 2 swats. And you know what? For the rest of the day, it was probably the best day we've had in a very long time. So what does that say? I have always been one to say that hitting isn't always the answer. But when everything else you've tried failed, what do you do? It wasn't done out of anger or anything. I just know I'm opening myself up to scrutiny, but if you've done everything you can think of, what would you do?

Morning!

Cat, it sounds like typical kid things. I remember doing similar things when I was young esp hiding thing when I was supposed to have tidied. My mum would just gather everything up and put it on my bed and then I couldn't go to bed until it was all put away. My mum's favourite punishment was making us stand and face the wall. Only for a few mins but to a kid it seems like hours. Worked a treat. As for smacking, I don't think its hurts. I tap DD hand if she's being naughty and she won't listen when I say no. I was smacked as I child but I can't remember one particular time so it hasn't affected me. I think you are doing the right thing. Don't worry, you'll all get through it and DD will be better for it.

Miranda, how are things today? Have you tested again?

I tested just now (It's barely am here). It's slightly darker than SMU yesterday and a lot more than FMU. It's still not a dark line by any means but I'm just 14dpo and AF isn't actually due until Thursday so I have to stay patient and thankful!!

I'll post some pics in a bit. I babysit today and am waiting for her and once the kiddo settle into their routine I'll get around to it. I also laid out all my tests from Nolan and the MC by dpo and compared to this time around. not seeing anything that makes me super worried. Every test was light at this point. Tomorrow Nolan's tests took off a bit (15dpo) but at that point I also had shorter cycles and AF was already due at 14dpo. Not sure if that matters at all.

I want to get Betas but darn insurance kicks in tomorrow and my new card and info won't get here for a while. I wish they'd do them tomorrow then wait to bill until I got my info!!

I think I had this both times but don't remember. i know I had it for my MC. My back is so sore. Even when I'm sleeping it wakes me up. Lower back mainly but it moves up a bit. Anyone else get this bad?

Jade - Thanks for the advise. Yes, we've done that as well. We've pulled everything out for her to put away, but there was no incentive for her to do it. She doesn't care what punishments are given, she'd rather not do it. I gave up on the "time out" thing when she started at 3 doing what she wanted to do knowing she wasn't supposed to and then putting herself on time out. Believe me, I knew I was in trouble then. DH and I were talking last night, and it made us both uncomfortable to think that spanking is going to have to be a going forward punishment. We just hope that she's now scared straight and just the thought of that punishment again will keep her from doing it. We're keeping our fingers crossed. :luck:

Miranda - I wish I could be some help. It's been almost 9 years since I was in the early stages of pregnancy. I know my back hurt like crazy when I was pg, but I don't remember how early it started. Also, since it takes 48 hours-ish for betas to double, your sticks wouldn't necessarily be too much darker than yesterday's, right? Hang in there. I've got everything crossed for a sticky bean/ :)

Hey ladies.

I just spent ten minutes writing a HUGE response and then got some wierd screen when I tried to submit and it POOF disappeared. I have to get to work. I'm really pissed that I lost the message.

I'll have to get back with you all. I have huge grants to get in and that's why I've been sort of quiet lately.

Miranda...I am SO excited for you!!!

More later! Love you all!

Catherine discipline is so hard! I actually help my mom out a lot with my teenage siblings because she completely forgets by now how it was. I can't imagine that stage with my own son yet but man disciplining a 19mo old is pretty difficult too!!

Miranda, my tests didn't really get dark until my missed period, and the first few of mine looked pretty similar. I think yours look good. Sticky baby vibes your way! :) :luck:

Jen, I hate when my posts disappear! Blah! Good to see you for a sec! Hope you get your grant deadlines met easily (I remember those hectic days :)).

Cat, Sorry you guys are having a rough go of it with DD. I'm not looking forward to figuring all that kind of stuff out! I am careful not to say "I'll never do that" regarding ANYTHING because you really don't know until you're in the situation and at your wit's end! Hope things improve with her and you and your DH feel some peace about how to handle everything!

Jade, nooo not the stretch marks! I'm terrified of them because my sis got them something AWFUL, and I know there's a genetic factor there. I've been using Bio Oil religiously, so hopefully I'll get lucky. Glad you had fun at your bro-in-law's wedding!

How is everyone else? Stacy, Sara - hope y'all had great weekends!

We got the crib set up and room painted, and my little dog Sophie has been "keeping watch" in the room LOL. She just sits in front of the crib like a statue. Also ordered our stroller (yayyy!) because my grandma is giving it to us as a shower gift in a couple of weeks. We got the Bob Revolution SE. Baby is kicking up a storm. I read something about babies sleeping 14 hours a day in the womb, and I have to say...either mine doesn't sleep or she is dreaming that she's a boxing kangaroo :).

Hope you ladies have a happy Tuesday! We have temps in the high 90's this week so hopefully I'll be relaxing inside with my feet up and a glass of iced tea! LOL

Miranda: Congrats on the BPF!! :) :jump: :jump: I could not see a really good progression on the dollar tree tests that I had but I also tested with FRER and I could see these ones definitely get darker everyday. So don 't worry about the dollar tree ones not getting darker everyday :).

Jen: I hate it when I type something up for a good while and then it disappears on me.......Can not wait for your actual long post :)

Cat: So sorry you had to deal with DD. I think sometimes you need to be spanked to learn respect and responsibility. My mom used to spank me when I was really bad and it has not affected me in any bad way. I was a very respectful and responsible kid. I think a little bit of a punishment when they do something wrong, does kids more good then bad. Hopefully this is a phase that will pass :).

Misti: So nice to have the baby's room ready to go :). Post pics........!! Wow that is hot..we had it in the 70's over the weekend and we went swimming and lounged by the pool :)

Jade: Don't worry too much about the stretch marks. I think between the stretch marks and my body bouncing back, I would worry more about my body bouncing back......You did not get any stretch marks during your first pregnancy??

Stacy: what s up with you??

AFM: Had a really nice 4 day weekend. relaxed....went to the pool and got a little tan....We also went to see the Thor 3d movie which was really good :). The only scary thing happening this weekend, I was cooking on Saturday...we have a glass counter top stove which suddenly shattered into a million pieces that also scattered in the air towards me and DH. I was very scared but at least no injuries. So we spent a good part of Sunday shopping around for the stove ......But apart from that lovely weekend..:). Hope all you guys had a nice weekend.

Evening ladies

Sara, Yeah i got them first time round too but not till right at the end. Glad you had a good weekend. Scary stuff with the glass stove, sounds like you were both lucky not to be hurt.

Misti, can not wait to see the pics of the nursery!! I know what you mean about baby kicks. This one is non-stop!

Miranda, Glad the tests are getting darker. Looking forward to seeing them.

Jen, good to hear from you. Shame about your post. Sounds like you are busy busy busy!!! How is your DH doing on his new diet?

Cat, wow DD sounds very clever!! Too clever for her own good! I agree with Sara, i'm sure its a phase that will pass if you stay strong and firm! Listen to me as if i know! I will probably be terrible when my mine get to that stage. Thankfully i know DH will be firm.

AFM, I've been organising my hospital bag probably a bit early but i thought i would get prepared. I have all the necessary toileteries - maternity pads, breast pads and disposible knickers! - reminds me how much fun giving birth is!
Heres my latest bump pic! 31 weeks today! Can not believe i have only 9 weeks to go. Its gone so quick this time.

Jade, that bump is gorgeous! You look great! Happy 31 weeks :) Goodness it's getting close isn't it!? I guess I'm 3-4 weeks behind you...I'm feelin' the pressure to get things done even though I know there's a little time left LOL.

I posted a pic on facebook of my dog sitting in front of the crib, but we don't have a whole lot done except for the crib and painting. We are ordering a big overstuffed rocker/glider chair next week and I'm painting a few decorations for the wall...can't wait to get it all together!
