thanks ladies.

Jen, i know its killing me too!!

Ok, my evil sil has just emailed me this:

Hi jade,
Please see attached. I am unsure of Dans qualifications but thought I would send this for his information also for anyone else you/he might know. Please forward if appropriate.

Best Wishes
Operations Manager
Barbican Theatre

This is about a finance job at the theatre where she works.

I know my mum has probably mentioned our situation to my bro but why would my sil do this? Its so weird!!
Its so polite like she emailing some sort of client instead of her sil but also why would she think i would be interested in hearing from her even if she wants to help? It so pointless as she lives a good 60-70 miles from where we live and about 150 miles from the house we own. We have never ever shown any interest in moving near them or DH commuting to there. What did she hope to gain from sending this?
I think she just likes to annoy me! She seem unable to cope if she gets no reaction or attention .Remember i said she txt asking for her pg books back - i just gave a very short polite reply without questioning why she wanted them back. My bro said to mum the other day that they thought my response was a bit blunt! Well duh!! Do they really think i can just get over what she did?!!! plus she still hasn't apologised for doing it!!
I will probably just ignore this as i'm sure she wants me to respond. I wish she would just bugger off and leave me alone! I'm not bothering her!!! She is so weird!! :x

Jade, good grief what a weirdo...it usually seems that those type of people thrive on response, so I think you're doing well by not answering her! Hopefully she will buzz off like an annoying gnat! LOL

Jade...she might just be trying to get at you, if you know what I mean.

Misti- I can't wait to see pics of the nursery...oh yeah, I was supposed to check on FB. Forgot about that one!

Cat- Have you heard of 1-2-3 Magic? We use it with our parents here at the Center and folks SWEAR by it. You can probably find some materials online.

Stacy- What's new?? How are things going?

Sara- THAI IS MY YUM. I want some Padd Thai Chicken Medium NOW. :)

Miranda...more sticks pics!

Hey ladies.
Sara-That is so scary about your stove. We have a glass countertop stove as well. I mean, I think its glass. I cant imagine how scary that would be. So glad you are both ok. What a mess that probably made. Glad you had a good weekend.

Jade-Your so little :) I am going to have to post a pic here shortly because Im pretty sure my size is close to yours and im at 23 weeks. Crazy. In my opinion your SIL is 'trying' to be the bigger person. This way she can say... well I emailed her and offered this- I have done what I can do. Rather than just suck it up and apologize for the matter at hand. Hope that makes sense.

Cat- I was spanked as a kid. I can say that I always knew when it was coming. I knew the difference between right and wrong. Mine was usually when I was home late and was out of range for my mom to yell for me. -Back when it was safe to go play all day as a kid and not come home till dark. Its a tough call thats for sure. But without discipline there is no respect. Whether the discipline is taking toys, or whatever. My sisters kids do not have any discipline and the do not listen to anyone.

Miranda- Congrats!!! Take it easy and relax. Enjoy the fact that you are indeed pregnant! :) I hope that you have a great doctor as I do and they understand all your fears and work with you to keep your mind at ease.

Misti- I saw the nursery pics. Fantastic!!

Jen-Hope things settle down for you. And I really hope my post does not get deleted!!!! - I hate that and this one is long :)

AFM- Had our check up yesterday. I guess you could call it 6 months? Not sure. It was for 23 weeks. All was great. She said our ultrasound from 19 weeks looked perfect. We got the orange drink to take home and put in the fridge. Go in for that test on June 29th. Sounds like my doc isnt as strict and that we can drink it at home and then just get to the doc within 60 minutes of drinking it. I also will be getting the rogam shot for my rh neg blood. Everything else is good. Baby (Conner) is kicking and DH gets to feel him often. DH working nights is a bit rough on him, he is more grouchy than normal :) Hopefully he can get out of that within 6 months. Next Tuesday we do our maternity tour of the hospital and the following week we start childbirth classes as well as take DSS to a sibling class. Busy times ahead!!

Evening ladies,

Stacy, glad everything is ok with little Conner. Wow its all happening with you. Is it making it feel like its really happening?!

AFM, had a midwife app today. All is well with me and baby. Baby is measuring just right and is head down and is back to front as in baby is facing my back(if that makes sense). Apparently thats the best for delivery. This pregnancy is very similar to DD. So its making me wonder if its another little girl!
As for evil sil, she emailed the full job details today. DH thought i should send a quick reply as we both agree with Stacy, shes trying to look the bigger person. So this is what i replied -

Thank you for considering Dan. Unfortunately the job is unsuitable for him as it is based in Plymouth.

Jade

Probably going to be taken as 'blunt' but i don't see why i should anymore than civil. She's lucky she getting any sort of response. I hate her! shes a b***h! (excuse the language!)

On happier note! i noticed my ticker has moved! second from last pic! yay.

You're getting so close now Jade!

Love the name Stacy. We had Conner/Connor on our list last go round.

Misti- Love the nursery. Can't wait to get mine going!!

Here are another pic...don't think I posted these here yet. This was yesterday but the dollar store from today is darker a bit more even. I'll do another FRER tomorrow but I'm afraid it's about as dark as they get so it won't be different. Can't get bloodwork quite yet due to insurance.

They are def darker Miranda! the FRER test line is darker than the control line! I think you have a strong one in there! X

LOL Jade - love the reply. I can feel the disgust in your tone. haha Jk! Glad everything is well with you and baby! Another girl would be sweet - a sister for Ellie! :) I think I guessed boy for you...I'm gonna stick with it even though I'm probably wrong! Question - how many ultrasounds have you had? Just curious...I'm comparing pregnancies, lol!

Miranda - tests look awesome! I'm thinking this little one is here to stay! :D

Stacy - wow you guys are gettin' down to business! It's just around the corner! Let us know how the childbirth class goes...I've been contemplating doing the ones here but just wasn't sure. I don't want to get freaked out, LOL

Sara - I'm jealous of your tan! I got sunburned in Florida, but it's patchy and I sort of look like a cheetah now. Haha. That's crazy about your stove shattering...glad you didn't get hurt.

AFM - noticed the dark line down the center of my belly recently (linea negra?). Anyone else get that? Also keep getting these "shadows" on my face...I looked it up and apparently it's called the mask of pregnancy. Weird!

Jade: First of all, the firewall was up last time I checked the forum and I had not seen your bump pic.....you look great :).......About your SIL, I think your response was great. Sometimes you just have to act very blunt but normal with people like that and that will bug them even more since all they are getting from you is how you do not care about the way they act and that it does not affect your life :). I learned that from DH and he has dealt with a couple of people like that and actually turned them around. There were times when I wanted to get angry and jump but he kept telling me to keep my cool and he was right :). BTW I can not believe you are patient enough not to have figured out the gender but I guess you will know soon :).

Miranda: That is exactly how my FRER looked. Your tests look great. They are definitely getting darker which is always a good thing. As my doc always told me in my early pregnancy, try to take it easy whenever you can.

Misti: My Husband is like you...he is awfully white (this is his own words)...I on the other hand get a nice tan in two hours. Mask of pregnancy and linea negra ....huh!! so far the only thing I have are pimples on my face ....:)

Jen: What is going on with you??

Cat: Where are you ?? Miss you....

Stacy: Sounds like you are going to be busy.....:) in a good way. Glad to hear everything looks good. God I can not wait to feel the baby kick......and having your DH feel it must be pretty amazing too!

AFM: Nothing special...Just working. Oh BTW today is exactly one week away from our 19 week u/s where we find out the gender as well.......:) can not wait! The countdown is on :).

Hi ladies!

Sorry I've been MIA. It's hard to do anything else when I'm transcribing. You guys would pick now to be all chatty!

Jade - What a whack-a-doodle your SIL is. I think your reply was the best she should expect. It was at least civil. I can't believe you're so close to the end already (or the beginning, however you look at it). Cannot wait to find out what you're having! And sweet merciful crap you are an adorable preggo chick!!! I love the bump!!!

Jen - Thanks for the info on the 1-2-3 Magic. I can't seem to find any info on it except for what it teaches you. I guess I'll have to order the package to find out. I'm definitely interested in it.

Miranda - I think it's funny your mom doesn't remember what it's like. For DH and I it's very difficult because we both grew up in a very strict, and aggressive household. It's hard to translate that in a way that isn't aggressive, but have the same results. KWIM? Hopefully this 1-2-3 Magic thing will help. BTW, your tests look way darker! I can't believe you don't have medical cards yet. Both times I changed insurances, I had cards before the insurance was active so that I could make my appts. ahead of time. I would make an appt. for the day it was in affect. Hopefully you can get in there soon. In the meantime, rest and relax, your tests are looking great!

Sara - I would have s$%t purple twinkles (sorry for being so crude, but really!!) if our stove had shattered. I had a friend who's stove exploded while they were out the house (thankfully), and ever since then I've had this extreme fear of stoves exploding, and what not.

Stacy - I know when DH works crazy hours (sometimes he has to work 24 hours a day for several days straight and what not) he gets out of his normal routine, and is much grouchier than normal. Hopefully your DH will get a better schedule soon. I know it takes a toll. You guys sure do have your plates full with all those upcoming classes and whatnot. It's so hard to believe you're so far along already!!

Misti - Love the picture with the puppy standing in front of the crib. He looks like a statue. I know many people that have gotten the line and the mask. I didn't have either, although my face in general looked horrible because of the dry skin, and acne and whatnot, which I never had before, even as a teen. I looked so horrible when I was pregnant!

Just a general note. With the 1-2-3 Magic, they have a system that goes from toddler to teen for those of you soon to be first time mommies that want to get a jump on it. :)

AFM - Nothing much here. AF is gone, it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Other than that, nothing much else here. DD has been really good since her spanking a couple days ago. Maybe that will hold us off until we get the 1-2-3 Magic. :) Thank you all for your impute, encouragements, and support regarding DD. That was such a stressful few days, and has weighed so heavily on me. What would I do without you ladies!!! :hb:

Hi ladies,

Real quick, I've been doing some reading on reviews on the 1-2-3 Magic thing. I have to admit that on amazon there's 376 reviews and 90% of them are positive. Now, obviously I don't know what the 1-2-3 Magic system is because everything online is so vague. I'd have to own the book to get the info. I will say though, after reading this review, I would be a little leery of it. I think this person raises valuable points (especially the one about paying children for behavior :omg: ). Just thought I would post it, and see what you ladies think.

Jen, do you use this system at home yourself? I'm just curious what your thoughts are.

Here's the negative review I found:

Imagine being very angry at your friend and they in turn say to you as you express yourself.. "that's one"...you continue to express your angry..."that's two"..."that's three...take a five minute time out". I would personally find it very frustrating and thankfully it never happens like this the real world. So why inflict this on your children? By using this system for several years we cut our son off from expressing his feelings constructively. If any anything this system only escalated the power struggle and fueled acrimony in our relationship with our son. This simplistic approach to paretning degrades and demeans the child and the parent, precluding possibility of a positive adult relationship relation with your child as they grow up . I am very sad about what we did following the 123 Magic approach. It's hard to believe this approach has any credence whatsoever. An example of the 123 Magic approach: giving children money every hour they behave in a car keeps them quiet but it also trains them to that they get paid for good behavior(not true in the adult world), puts the focus on parental approval and does not foster the inner discipline teenagers and adults need deal with the challenges of life. The books that have helped us create positive relationships with our children and foster inner discipline include the following: The Parent Handbook & Raising A Responsible Child, Don Dinkmeyer; How To Talk So Kids Will Listen & Siblings Without Rivalry, Adele Faber; Kids Are Worth It! Barbara Colorosso, Children: The Challenge, Rudolf Dreikurs; Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families, Stephen Covey. Save yourself the mistakes we made; don't buy 123 Magic. We are so proud of our parenting now and so happy with postive family environment we have created with our children, based on the books listed above.

Cat, the money thing sounds odd...although I definitely believe in a system of rewards/punishments whether it's just praise for good behavior or what, not necessarily a "prize". I know it was a different time, but I swear just hearing my mom brag about how good we were to my dad while he was at work made us try to act right, lol! I have a friend who does behavior sticker charts with her kids, and if they fill theirs out with good behavior they get rewarded in some way at the end of the week. Her kids are angels, hehe. My dad always gave us $10 for every A we made on our report cards, but that's the only money we ever got for anything! LOL! not even allowance for doing chores! I will say it was good incentive to try harder in school ;). Anyway my point is I wonder if the program actually wants money as the reward or just a reward for good behavior, period.
