TGIF!!!

Shanesgirl - I'm so sorry that you're getting so many mixed messages from your doctor! That is absolutely frustrating!!! No need to apologize for your post either! I'd be feeling the same as you (and had some of those feelings in regards to my test results mix-up earlier in the week!!!). I don't know what exactly their line of thought is, but I do know that the RE is the one who went through my history and determined whether starting Clomid or Femara, or whatever the route was, would be the best path for me. That is definitely frustrating that your insurance won't cover it! I don't know if you could talk to your regular doctor and explain your situation and see if they would follow through with the prescription or not. But as Bcl said, they do need to do scans so many days in to check for follicle growth whenever you are on one of these meds. And I'm thinking that's not something a regular doctor would do...but I don't know. Either way, I'm praying you get answers and try to stay optimistic!! We're here for you to vent! Also, I would say if you absolutely need to go to the RE after talking to your regular doctor, just explain as Bcl said that you don't have insurance coverage and they may discount the services or put you on a payment plan. FX for you!!! Sorry this has been so frustrating for you. :(

Bcl - The triplets look amazing (even if they are a big squished into the pic, haha. That is just wonderful! So thrilled for you that all is well and they're progressing so nicely! Glad you are feeling better also!!! Hopefully the food aversions improve. I'm finding mine feel different from day to day and I seem to want to eat almost nothing some days then I'll want to eat everything for a couple days, haha. Hope things continue to go well for you and look forward to seeing the triplets in 10 days! ;)

AFM...10 weeks today. My next OB appointment is Wed of next week and I can't wait!! Feeling alright - as I mentioned above the appetite is crazy some days and not so much on others! But I have to keep eating little snacks regularly to keep from feeling sick. Other than that, I pea a lot and I'm still fatigued, but excited to be one week further and closer to the 2nd trimester...eek, that seems crazy to say!!! ;) Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hey ladies-- yay, I found the new thread:)

Bcl-- I am so glad you are feeling better, that's awesome!! And how sweet that DH sent flowers for your birthday, and happy late birthday!! Just think- this time next year, you'll be one year older with three beautiful babies in your arms:) Also, I LOVE your latest pic-- smushed babies and all!!

Newto-- Wow, you sound so busy, but that will definitely be good for an upcoming TWW!! Like EandAM said, don't forget to make some time to get some good 'ole Bd'ing in!! Also, yes, I have been getting high and peak fertility smiles on my Clearblue Advanced Digital OPK's...so frustrating! So it seems like they've been detecting an LH surge (and this usually corresponds with CM), but then my body just doesn't O, or at least not this month. Like I said before, I guess I could still O late, which is why my progesterone would be low for my CD21 lab, but then I'm thinking, my OPK already detected an LH surge, I had some EWCM, and my CM is pretty non-existent now, so I'm not very optimistic about that:(

EandAM-- Glad you are feeling good for the most part:) and can't wait to hear about next week's OB appt! Yay for the 2nd trimester that is so quickly approaching!! Hope you get to feeling better and less fatigued as time progresses.

AFM...my doc actually left a voicemail apologizing for all the back and forth yesterday. Said her nurses have been on vacation so she's getting new ones all the time lately and things have been chaotic! She wanted to talk to me more about results and mentioned that we could definitely come up with some sort of plan prior to me seeing the RE. Basically we played phone tag today and she is supposed to call me back Monday (per her voicemail if we missed each other today). I'm bummed I have to wait till Monday but glad I can talk to her more about everything and that she seems to have another plan in mind:) Also, regarding what I was talking about with ovulation, OPKs detecting an LH surge, CM, and such....how does that even work? The body gears up for O but then doesn't? Ugh!? Heard of any stories where women get all the perfect O signs, then don't O, but end up O'ing later in their cycle and get a BFP? Ha!!

Have a good weekend, ladies!

Okay, so literally after I submitted my last post, my doc called me back! She apologized again for the craziness and basically long story short-- she asked if I had been getting pos OPK's every month and I told her I was but that it was ranging from like CD13-19ish. She mentioned that I could be ovulating but not strong enough, not ovulating at all, etc. She did offer to put me on Clomid if I wanted and we discussed other options, but basically by the end of the call I've decided to wait to see what DH's SA looks like and have a consult with the RE. She said that it may just be a matter of making small hormonal tweaks and that it could be he wants me on a different med instead, etc., but that basically this is the RE's specialty and given that she's unsure of the best route to take, consulting with him would probably be my best bet. I also mentioned my concern re: cost and she mentioned that he would code it basically the same way they would do at my doc's office (for irregular menstrual cycles), not for like fertility specialty stuff or anything, essentially meaning not as expensive as I thought and covered (at least partially) by my insurance! She ended saying that she has complete faith in this RE and that every single patient she has ever referred to him has come back to her pregnant, so I am excited about that:) She also wanted to reassure me she does not think that we'll have to go like an IVF route or anything (obviously we could never know that for sure), but that she thinks he'll be able to pinpoint everything and figure out the best plan for us efficiently! Anywho...glad we talked that through!! haha ladies, sorry, I said "long story short!"-- sorry for another novel!!!

Thanks guys! The trips are hanging in there. I go in next Monday for an ob appointment. I think they do a pap and all kinds of stuff. They said it'll be a little long.

Eandam- glad you're moving right along in your pregnancy. Hope you're appointment goes great. Do you get an u/s? I have been having periods of nausea the last few days. But I like Popsicles now haha so that's something new to add to my limited palate.

Shane's- I'm glad you got to talk to your doc and that she understood that the nurses hadnt handled in the best way. I was thinking that insurance should cover some of the testing should you have any done. Not necessarily for fertility reasons, but those tests are also important for women in general. For example, I think that the HSG test is often covered because a woman's tubes being open doesn't only have to do with infertility. AnyWho, I hope that you can get some answers about your ovulation and that it's an easy fix. I'm not really sure how the ovulation strips work, I know I just had one peak day and a lot of people have an issue where they have multiple peak days. I also I'm not sure that it means that you definitely ovulated. I know a lot of people would do the strips to know when to have sex, but would then also I'm not sure that it means that you definitely ovulated. I know a lot of people would do the strips to know when to have sex, but then temp to confirm ovulation. I tried that, but I never got a spike in temperature to confirm O. That made me think there was a problem..so idk if maybe my body geared up to O, but maybe never actually released the egg. It can be so complicated, so I hope you're able to get answer soon. The good news is the fertility doc will definitely know what to do and has experience with all kinds of situations.

Glad I found the new thread!

Hi ladies! Found the new thread :)
Shanes- That is SO frustrating that you get positive OPK's but no ovulation...Are your periods all over the place still or do they come a couple weeks after your positive OPK's?! WHY can't it just be easy lol
EandAm- Happy 10 weeks! I can't believe you are already 10 weeks....It's flying by!
bcl- Hope your babies are doing well!

AFM- I am CD 13. Should be ovulating in the next four-ish days??? I am keeping really close tabs on it. Testing twice a day. We have BD'ing for fun every other day (just worked out that way, not complaining) lol but once I get a positive OPK we are going to BD everyyyyy day around it. Like until I KNOW for sure I am no longer ovulating lol. I can't wait to ovulate!

Hi ladies – sorry I have been off the radar!

EandAM – Oh my you poor thing! That sounds awful! I would freak too.. sooo glad everything is ok though! How exciting to see your little bub moving! It’ll be good if you get more frequent u/s to put your mind at ease. Hope you are feeling less stressed now hun…

Shanesgirl – I’m with EandAM at least you bd so don’t loose hope. I went off the darkest positive opk I had and figured that was my o day. We bd as soon as I got a faint pos line right up until the negative one. Ah I’m so sorry your blood work is causing you stress. So glad your doctor gav you some clarity finally though. It might be a good thing to see a RE so you get the best information possible. Try not to worry until you have all the information though I know easy to say.

Bcl – I’m so sorry dh left I can’t imagine how hard that would and will be. You have three babies to keep you distracted though and I hope he will be back before you know it. Glad you have a great specialist that must make you feel a lot better. Haha I do that when I’ve had no symptoms for the day panic and think something is wrong. Your scan looks so cool!! Three little homes :-)

Newttc – Wow busy lady! Hopefully that will work in your favour  I used the cheapie opks and they worked for me I found them so handy cos I could start testing early/twice a day and get more of an idea when it was all happening. Eikk how exciting gl for o time and fingers crossed this is your month.

AFM – All is well here just waiting to see the doc again on Monday can’t wait. I have been feeling ok less nauseas which is good I tend to get sick about once a week haha I can’t wait to be in the second trimester I’m sick of having to hide my pregnancy. We have only told our close friends with kids because of the immunisation situation and our parents. We are waiting for 12weeks and our scan results to tell everyone. So I have to pretend to drink or come up with excuses. We have my aunties bday this weekend so I am just going to do the water in a vodka bottle trick and then I am not going outside the house until I can tell everyone haha

Hi Ladies!

Shanesgirl - Glad you found the new thread! I was worried no one would find it, haha. So glad to hear your doctor seems to have it together and called you for some reassurance! That's awesome she is willing to work with you! Most are once you ask. As for the OPK's...I was always gearing up and not necessarily ovulating on my own. Hence, why they put me on Femara and the Ovidrel trigger to produce follicles and force ovulation. Unfortunately it can happen...:( But it sounds like they're helping you to figure it out, which is awesome!!! That is so awesome to hear about the RE!!! And even better they will bill you so that your insurance will cover it!! FX and keep us posted!! Glad to hear you had some quick resolution too and didn't have to wait out the weekend!

Bcl - Glad you found the new thread too! How was the OB? How are you feeling? How are the trips doing?

NewTTC - Have you O'd yet?! Happy BD'ing!!! ;)

Jade - Good to see you again! What week are you in now? I hear you about waiting to tell everyone. I'm still leery of even the 12 week mark or after...I think I'll be nervous this whole PG after my loss...which stinks, but I pray every day!!! Sorry to hear you've been sick too! But I'd take once a week after my 4 day stint of major m/s!!! Hope it eases up for you!

AFM...I had crazy bad M/S from Friday night through Tuesday morning! Literally, anything I ate outside of crackers or ginger ale came back up...:( It was a miserable 4 days and I lost 4-5 lbs, which has me worried too! But I have an OB appointment today and I'm going to let them know what's been going on. Ah, the joys of hormones!! I'm a nervous wreck so much of the time now! I was basically between the bed and bathroom all those days, so the weekend wasn't too much fun or too productive...:( How is EOE?

EandAM - Thanks, I am coming up to week 9 :-) I'm the same and I haven't been through a mc I can imagine that would make it so much more stressful! Try not to worry though I have such a great feeling for all of us on this thread we deserve this and everything is going to work out!
OMG 4 days of it...how did you survive :-/ that sounds awful!! I wouldn't worry about ms harming the baby I always read that they have no idea what's going on even when we a stuck to the loo. Also with the weight loss I would think that the baby gets the nutrients before we do so I'm sure he/she is doing fine even though you are ill :-)
I don't want to jinx it but I have been very lucky I think with the symptoms I've had a few but nothing really bad. I'll take the once a week sickness.
Now next week I'll be sick all week now I've said that haha
I have a doc app Monday which I'm pretty excited about! Hoping to get a timeline for the scans and tests for the 12 week mark and start the count down to telling the world I have a healthy baby in my belly!

How is everyone else going?

Newtottc- good luck w O and bding :-) fx for a party in your tubes w your eggs and sperm! At least that's what I say about mine considering we had three fertilized eggs lol. They sure had a party. It was June so they were excited for summer :-p.

Jade- glad you don't have a lot of symptoms. Or at least not much sickness. Good luck continuing to hide the pregnancy. It's not terribly hard if you don't have get-togethers and you arent sick haha. Those are the giveaways when you're not drinking or you're sick. Since we're not showing it would be easy if we didn't have all these other factors.

Eandam- oh sorry you've been so sick. Did you ask your doc for some meds question mar oh sorry you've been so sick. Did you ask your doc for some meds? I know everyone is apprehensive to take medicine while pregnant, but I did my reading on the diclegis and it's the only thing I will take. I have lost 5 pounds since I found out I was pregnant. And that was before I was sick and I was eating lots of stuff, especially unhealthy stuff on vacation. I have merely maintained my weight since being sick. My doc says I need to gain a certain amount because the more I gain tomorr maintained my weight since being sick. My doc says I need to gain a certain amount because the more I gain the healthier and bigger my babies will be. I am finding it so hard though and I don't know what to do. I am hoping my weight will stick with me more in the second tri and that I will be hungrier and less sick. How was your doctors appointment?

Afm- I go to the doctor Monday. I am so anxious to see all the heartbeat again. I have not been feeling well this week. I don't have any major complaints, just nauseous more so than the week before. It's been bad at night again. I've been so bored recently and normally I would be really active, but I'm just having a hard time since I'm not feeling myself. I went on a long walk with the dogs today and to the park but when I got home I had a splitting headache so that kind of put me out for the rest of the day. It's really sucked having dh gone. So far I only get an email every few days and a phone call maybe once a week. I need a hobby ha ha.

Jade - Week 9 - Hooray for that!!! I'll be week 11 on Friday and each week closer to 12 feels amazing - but still nerve wrecking! Yeah, I would say the nausea has picked up from earlier on at this point too. I hope you don't feel too badly! I get the laying low - same here! I have been trying to at least walk our dog around our sub and back - which is only one street - but as you said, it's hard to feel up to it! Yay for your upcoming doctor's appointment! You'll have to update us!!! ;)

Bcl - Hi!!! Great to hear from you!!! I asked the Dr. about meds and she said to let them know if it continues or worsens and then we could discuss it further...:( Knock on wood, I've felt better, it seems to come in several day long waves of sickness then I'll be okay for a while and it strikes back out of nowhere!! Ahh! As for weight gain, I know your situation is different with trips - but my OB told me yesterday most women lose in the first trimester due to M/S, will gain some in the 2nd, but most weight in the 3rd tri. I'm sure it's a bit different because you have 3 in there, but still, I wouldn't worry so much about not gaining as of yet! What week are you in now? When does DH return? Ugh...that has got to be so hard having him gone at a time like this! My brother is in the service and was gone for time periods during his children's pregnancies! It doesn't get easier when the kids are here either. He'll be gone Sept-Christmas time in Dec, and the girls are very attached to their daddy at 1 & 3 y.o. Anyway, hopefully you have someone who can attend appointments with you at least as support! If not, we're all here and eager to know updates on the trips! ;) I hope you get to feeling better soon!

AFM...My appointment went well. Baby is progressing nicely! HB still at 170 and quite the squirmy little one! Every time the Dr. tried to put the U/S wand over my abdomen to get a HB, the baby would squirm away! It's already got a stubborn personality - uh oh - must take after Mommy! Haha. Anyway it was so great to see and I feel much more relieved today! Hope EOE is doing well! Xo.

Hi Everyone, sorry for MIA-ness-- just had another busy week!

Newto--- Yay for almost-O time! Perfect timing with DH's birthday! He could end up with the best birthday present ever in just a few weeks! FX for a BFP:) And yes, it is SO frustrating that I've been getting positive OPK's but no ovulation, and my periods are all over the place (last 4 cycles-- 37 24, 29, 37)!!

BCL-- I'm so sorry you've been feeling so badly lately, and I'm sure it doesn't help that DH is gone :( Do you have any upcoming plans with friends or anything? Any luck in finding a new hobby?! Can't wait to hear about your appt on Monday!

Jade-- Good to hear from you again! I can't believe you're already at week 9-- that is crazy, you'll be in the second trimester and telling everyone before you know it! Glad you've been having few symptoms. Have fun at your auntie's bday party this weekend! Can't wait to hear about your doc's appt on Monday!

EandAM-- I am so sorry you were so sick earlier this week-- that is awful, but glad you are feeling much better now! Also, so excited that your appt went well-- what an active little baby you got there (or like you said, stubborn, haha)! It has to be so amazing to experience something like that! Have fun at your grandpa's birthday party-- how cool to live such a long life!

AFM...CD31 today. Just expecting AF to show anytime from now throughout the next week. I hate having such irregular cycles! I'm still holding out for the slightest of hopes that maybe I O'd late (possibly after my CD21 bloodwork or right before so where the progesterone wouldn't have picked up O), but know that's not extremely likely given I got a pos OPK CD13 and EWCM around the same time and body didn't O...but crazier things have happened, right? Haha, I sound like a crazy person lol! Anywho...DH has his SA scheduled for next Tuesday and then we'll schedule an appt with the RE for sometime after that, so we can finally get some real answers! Anyone know how long it usually takes for SA results to come back? Also, where can we find a sterile container?...

Have a good weekend, ladies!!!
