Hey Ladys hope all is well.

Met with my RE today and he basically is sticking as well to the plan that heparin is only going to help once a pregnancy is established. He thinks that it's more a hormonal problem not letting the pregnancy establish. He prescribed Letrezole to start next cycle. I'm currently CD 18 and I believe 3 DPO. We'll see if anything happens with this cycle, but if not I have a game plan for the next.

So we shall see what happens and if this doesn't work we both agreed we would regroup for a new game plan. So at least that's something.

HI ladies! Just have a quick moment to post on here, we had our anatomy scan today and all is well, baby looks perfect, no issues seen, yay! And.....it's a boy!!!!

Emma - hope things are getting a little better with the pain, is the therapy the doctor suggested helping? My arm is doing much better, as long as I sleep with the splint on it seems to be ok. The doctor today said it will probably get worse...great lol.

Steph - hope all goes well this cycle, but glad you have a plan to try next cycle if need be. Didn't you take letrozole when you conceived Kevin?

Liz - hope all is well!

Yes I did. First cycle with it and we conceive Kevin. So the RE thinks it's a good plan and he feels very confident it will work. He doesn't think it was a coincidental it worked out that way. So it's just a waiting game to see if I'm PG or onto the next cycle. I had the prescription filled so I don't have to worry about getting it done, especially since AF would arrive close to Thanksgiving. I'm feeling better that I talked with him and that someone is in my court willing to help.

It's so exciting to be a boy!!! I bet DH is thrilled! You want more too right? So exciting!

Hope everyone else is well.

Hi Shannon - Wonderful news, so pleased all looks well and another big milestone for you, you’re nearly half way now :D Congratulations on a boy, we can help each other through the earl days because I’m nervous about a boy! I’m having treatment 1-2 times a week and although it doesn’t help my vein pain, I do enjoy the sessions. The lady does a lot of hands on manipulation (gently of course) which can only benefit the rest of my body. My next scan is on Wednesday so I’m interested to see how baby boy is growing!

Steph - sounds like you have a plan, will keep everything crossed for you.

Liz - how are you getting on?

Not so good Shannon.... baby boy is measuring very small. He seems to have gone backwards because he was always measuring about a week ahead.
I will be exactly 35 weeks tomorrow and he is weighing approx. 2kg that’s just over 4lbs. Doc doesn’t think he’ll be more than 6lbs at birth. So I’m a little concerned only because he has slowed right down.
I go back in 2 weeks for another US but that feels so long away :?

How are all our ladies doing?

Wow, That's surprising that they don't have you come in sooner to check his size and weight. At the end of my pregnancy I had to do weekly growth checks. Do you see your Dr more frequently at this point?

I’m surprised too Steph, I’ve even emailed my old RE to ask his advice. If baby had always been small I wouldn’t be too concerned but the fact he’s gone backwards after always measuring a week ahead really concerns me. I’m going to weigh myself daily and if I’m not putting on the required weight, I’ll ask for a check after 1 week.

In 6 weeks I’ve only gained 1kg, that’s 2lbs and I eat plenty! I don’t know what else to do.

I would definitely question why they wouldn't have you come back in sooner. 2 weeks is too long. I stopped gaining wait at the end and they thought Kevin was small so they induced me sooner. I definitely wouldn't want to take any chances. Hopefully your RE can help you out. I know US later in PG aren't as accurate, but still I would be concerned too.

What does the doctor that did the scan think, do they seem concerned? I'd be concerned too, but like Steph said, I've read that things can slow down towards the end and that the ultrasounds aren't always accurate. I'd definitely be pushing to get back in there sooner than 2 weeks. Did your old RE get back in touch with you?

My RE responded immediately and said I should go and pay for a second opinion because we have invested too much time and money into this pregnancy and it just wouldn’t be worth risking!

I’ve called the head Ob/Gyn at the hospital where I’ll have the CS and asked to have a full ultrasound and second opinion as a private patient. I’m booked in next week 16th. Waiting 1 week is better than waiting 2 especially if something isn’t quite right.

Baby boy was always big for his dates.... At 27 weeks, he was approx 1100g - average is around 700g. Exactly 8 weeks later, baby is only 2200g. That’s an average weight gain of 137g a week instead of the expected 250g. So he has not only slowed but he is now behind for his dates. I don’t think my new Dr, as nice as he is, looked at the bigger picture. He also didn’t check the placenta or the umbilical cord.

I could be over reacting, perhaps baby is healthy and all is well, but it’s too big a risk to wait and find out without taking any action and I need to sleep at night!

I hear you on that, we've spent way too much time and money to get where we are to have someone f**k it up. That's why dh and I have been very cautious about what testing to do. We don't want to take a chance of someone doing something incorrectly and cause undue harm. There are some great doctors and medical personnel out there, but being in the business I also know there are some very incompetent people out there too and humans make mistakes. I'm so glad to see you are getting a second opinion next week. I don't think you are overreacting at all, better to get things checked out and know baby is doing well. As hard as it is, try to relax and get some sleep. :hugs:

Emma, It's the right thing to do. You are your own advocate and there is nothing wrong with asking for another opinion. I'm so glad you can go in and get looked at. They definitely should have checked the placenta and umbilical cord. I would even make sure when you go in for the next scan that you verify that they will be checking those things. I'll be looking out for your update next week.

So temp took a dip and I took a cheapy this morning and definitely negative. So I'm pretty sure that this cycle will be a bust. But that just means next cycle I can start with the plan we laid out. All I can say is I hope it works. I'm thinking I'll also use an OPK next cycle too, since I'm going to be taking Letrozole and I don't know what it will do.
