I'll join! I'm not quite starting my new cycle yet, but I O'd late this month & I'm pretty sure we missed the egg. AF is due around Friday. I have short cycles so I'll probably catch up with you. How long are your cycles? Mine are 23 days with O around day 10.

Sure, I'll join. CD 1 for me... Disappointed as always, but trying to tell myself I'm another month closer. Warning: I'm a goal-setter.. Last month it was eating better, and this month it's enjoying sex rather than BD. We'll see how it goes!

Hi ladies-

Mind if I join? I'm a little further along in my cycle than you guys it seems, but still looking for some buddies! I'm currently 14DPO and just waiting to O. I was completely crushed after last cycles let down and had to take a break from the boards. I've been quite lax about this cycle and am not expecting much, but it's our last push before we start all of the testing I guess.

Quick background on me- TTC #1 Off BCP since Feb 2014, Not trying not preventing from Feb through July 2014. Actively trying since July 2014 (based off of FF app expected O dates). Started using OPK's in June or July of 2015 and still have not seen a BFP.

Welcome ladies! OK, AF has officially arrived so its CD1 for me today.

Peaks, looks like we are cycle buddies! Yay! What day do you expect to O? I will try the mantra of "enjoying" the BD experience more this time around too.

Janeite, Welcome!! Yes, I think you will definitely catch up to me. I usually have a 32-35 day cycle (O around CD16), but the fertility drugs have shortened my cycle - last cycle was 30 days! I'm switching to a higher dose of clomid this time, so I haven't a clue how long it will be. FX

staying, I'm glad to see you back here again. Looks like you are nearing your O day!! You better start BDing like a champ! Its good that you are being lax this cycle. I'm going to try that this time - we are going away this weekend on a trip, and I need to have a vacation mindset. The failed IUI has been awful on me - I hope the RE will do the trick this time. This doc seems really nice.

FX and keep me posted ladies!

Hello ladies!

Would it be okay if I joined? I am brand new to the site (officially at least... I don't think stalking it counts), and I am also CD1 today.

This will be my 4th month TTC, so not that long compared to others. I will be using OPK's this cycle for the first time ever, so hopefully I will be able to figure those out!

Welcome, CatLady! This is my 6th cycle TTC, and I started using OPKs on cycle 4 as well.

Since going off BCP in August, my cycle lengths have varied a bit, but past two months were 29 and 26 days. Last month, I got at least 5 consecutive days of blazing positive OPKs, so I'm not sure what that means or when exactly I O. I don't temp because, frankly, I don't like how obsessive I become when I do that. Hopefully, the multiple positives don't mean PCOS. The question of "Do I have a problem" is a haunting refrain that I'm trying to avoid!

In my focus on nutrition last month, I tried to roughly plan my shopping list around these suggestions for helpful foods that correspond to different phases of the monthly cycle: http://www.parenting.com/article/what-eat-conceive I found it helpful, at least to feel like I was doing something healthy and proactive. Yesterday (CD 1), I was feeling a little faint and somehow depleted in the morning. I noticed that when I ate a small steak at lunch, I felt like it was exactly what my body needed. No more headache, no cramps, just back to feeling normal again. Don't know if that's helpful for any of you, but I just thought I'd share!

Thanks Peaks+Valleys! Maybe the consecutive positive OPKs were more to do with stress than anything else? 29 and 26 day cycles sound good to me! I hope your goal for this month works out great for you!

I love your food idea! I personally believe there is so much power in food. I'm currently switching over to a mostly whole foods, plant based diet and am really excited to hopefully see some health benefits from it. I might swap out my current dinner plans for steak though, as day 2 of AF is always the worst for me.

So a little about me; I'm 31 and have a super sweet and amazing 6 year old son. My current husband and I had our 1 year wedding anniversary in September, and we have been together for a total of 3 years. He is the best step-dad and 100 % my best friend. I had the Mirena IUD for almost 6 years, and when I got it taken out my cycle came back right away and have been at a 28 or 29 day cycle each month since.

Here's to a fertile month for everyone!

Welcome Catlady! I'm curious - how many cats do you have?? I have only 1 but she's my queen.

Peaks, thanks for posting the article! I read through it and I'm going to try to follow it this month. I also decided to drink 8oz of grapefruit juice every day to help with CM. I'll let you know if I see any changes. I don't get much CM in my fertile period.

staying, Janeite, I hope all is well with you ladies!

CD2 here. I take the FSH test tomorrow to check on my ovarian reserve, and then I start taking my 100mg of clomid. I hope I get more than 1 follicle this month. I think it would make a difference on whether we can conceive with the IUI.

I only actually have 2 cats that are in my house as my pets. However, I feed 3 cats at work every day and another 3 or 4 that live in my neighborhood. Plus, I have one feral kitten in my garage that I am going to be getting fixed and returning to his cat colony in the next week or so.

Since you don't get much CM, do you use PreSeed? I've heard of cough syrup helping but grapefruit juice sounds a whole lot better!

Hi Ladies!

Welcome Catlady! OPK's are a great tool to help you understand your fertile window better especially if you have a tough time gauging your CM. Which OPK's are you going with?

Peaks- I had one cycle where I had 10 days of high fertility before getting my peak fertility day on the clearblue advanced. Last cycle I started to use the cheapie OPK's because I thought there was something wrong with the clearblue after that weird cycle. I had a few sticks left over and used them in conjunction with cheapies and only got two days of high before getting my peak. I think there are just some cycles that are weird like that.

Scarlet- FX that the higher dose of clomid helps this cycle so that you get a bunch of follicles!

AFM- CD15 here and not much to report really. As I mentioned in my previous post- I've been a little lax about this cycle. I was on vacation the last two weeks and missed a few temp days (i just put some place holders into my chart and made note of it). There was a decent amount of drinking, late nights and late wake ups during my vacation so I'm really chalking this cycle up to a no go. I also caught a wretched cough last week and took some mucinex a few of those days. My CM is pretty much slim to none, which is very strange for me because I usually don't have an issue there. I'm wondering if the Mucinex dried me up (sorry TMI). After I took it I started researching and apparently mucinex much like the cough syrup and grapefruit juice is supposed to thin out your cm to help the sperm, but honestly I think it completely eliminated my CM. So who knows. This is my second cycle using pre-seed so I hope it helps with this CM problem I seem to be having. I guess I will just have to see what happens here- still waiting for O day- another negative today. I guess this cycle is going to be longer than usual for me since I have not O'd yet, but we've already started BD'ing every other day.

Have a great day ladies!

Hi Staying! I will be using Wondfo OPK's. I have been trying really hard to understand my body and attempting to learn CP and CM... but most of the time I am just left feeling "uhm, what is that all about?".

So where did you go for vacation? I hope you had a great time! I hope O day comes soon for you as well!

Good evening ladies!

Peaks- Thanks for the article! It's really fascinating! I definitely may need to think more about when I eat certain foods this month. Do you do a lot of home cooking? My DH & I love to cook & are always trying new foods.

Staying- Looks like O is not far off. I hope you're getting busy and that your vacation was super relaxing!

Scarlet- FX that you new dose of meds does the trick this time around!

Welcome Catlady! Good luck with your OPKs! Hopefully they'll do the trick for you!

AFM- We finally got home today from our holiday travels. I'm so glad to sleep in my own bed tonight & to see my puppy again! I'm not, however, looking forward to going back to work this week! A bit of background on me: We've been TTC #1 since August of 2014. It took my cycles nearly a year to regulate after bcp. We finally got a bfp last month, but it ended in a MC. I think we're going to start looking into getting help soon. I'm 35 and not getting any younger!

CatLady: Yes, all the positive OPKs could very well be due to stress. Am trying to eke out the last two chapters of a dissertation by the end of February, and am working a half-time job in a language in which I'm not yet fluent... so there's a lot happening! Perhaps the little one is preferring to wait until my mental atmosphere is more hospitable... Sounds like you have a lot of loving support at home, which is fantastic!

Janeite: I do enjoy cooking, though I don't always have enough time to do what I like. My DH is more a specialist in pasta and, well, that's about it... so culinary creation is a rather solitary endeavor for me. :) With the exception of a few favorite go-to dishes, I rarely make the same thing twice. I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage, and I hope you have the emotional resources you need to carry on, especially if you start further testing, etc.

Scarlet: Wishing you the best with the IUI. I have no experience in this area, and have a hard time imagining what that must be like. It sounds like it requires a lot of emotional energy... I had never heard about grapefruit juice, but I'm willing to give it a try!

Staying: It seems that you are an experienced waiter... You have my admiration! I hope your time on the TTC boards will be more helpful that stressful. I'm trying to use it as a means to dial down the crazy, not to feed obsessive tendencies. It's a fine line, though, sometimes.

Otherwise, thanks to all for your encouragement, especially regarding my cycle. Am feeling a bit more neutral this month (last month I was super-optimistic and peppy), but I think calm is good. Doing my best to ward off a cold, probably due to stress. But have reduced my work responsibilities for the next two months in order to get this dissertation out the door, and DH and I will spend a few weekends away as sort of a writing holiday, I suppose. Hopefully, I can do what I need to do, stay healthy, and find some time to thoroughly enjoy intimacy for its own sake!

Morning ladies! I hope all is well.

staying, I think your CM is low because the Mucinex you took may have had a cough suppressant in it (any Mucinex with DM, PE, or other initials attached to it, etc). The cough suppressant counterbalances the guaifenesin ingredient, which is the one that helps with CM. Check the box - if there is an active ingredient other than guaifenesin, then its not the right one. The only one that I found without other ingredients is generic Tussin. Did you get a positive OPK yet? I think this month will be a long cycle for me too.

Catlady, I still can't understand CP. I tried and failed multiple times. I pretty much gave up on it, and the CM thing is still a little "off" for me too. I pretty much depend on OPKs to tell me what is going on lol

Janeite, I am so sorry about your M/C. I hope you get your BFP before needing help, because it can be quite a ride going to the doctor all the time.

Peaks, I am "neutral" as well this month. I was feeling good and energized last month because it was the first IUI, but since it ended in a BFN, I am feeling more calm now for this cycle. I think calm a good thing too. Yes, the IUI is an emotional toll (not like IVF though), but now that I know what its like, its not a big deal. I hope your dissertation goes well - what is your specialty?

AFM - I went to the doc this morning and he took an u/s and FSH test. I won't get those results for a few days I think. Follicles look OK right now, very small. I start taking the 100mg Clomid tonight. He warned that I might have headaches again, PMS symptoms, depression, and other side effects. I think the depression has been a big side effect for me, but I have a history of it so I'm not surprised. And the road begins again.....
