Thanks for the new thread Danaa!!!

WIsh - great job on the weight loss! I'm all about that sushi :)
Andi - :hugs: I know this is frustrating. I'm not sure what is harder to deal with... the not knowing what could be wrong or the knowing what is wrong. On the plus side, you know what could be an issue and there are solutions. IUI is not as expensive as IVF - the real expense to the IUI is if you are doing the medications to help follicle growth and trigger. Otherwise, IUI is more about getting the sperm from your DH to meet the egg most effectively. Taking a supplement is the easy thing :) it is all about making sure you are the best oven to bake a baby :) As far as how I felt when I realized that I was going to do IVF... at this point I'm resigned to it. A couple of years ago when it was first brought up as an option, I was adamant that we could do it naturally. I was in denial and angry if my DH brought it up... he would say "you know we are just going to have to do IVF - if there wasn't something wrong, we would have been pregnant already". But at this point, I'm all in. and only frustrated over having to wait for months to get through the process when I was ready last month dangit LOL.
Nicky - I hope your finished being sick :) enjoy your travels and can't wait for you to get back to IUI plans next month.
Phder :happyforyou:

AFM - My current schedule for the IVF stuff: - from now until next month I'm on birth control (and am supposed to put in new dose without a break for a period). I have a hysteroscopy and transfer test in two weeks so they can do another check that everything looks good inside and figure out the catheter, etc. that will work best during the FET. I will get an US as a baseline test on August 25 and take a small amount of estrogen (as a suppository) before taking out the birth control (nuvo ring). A few days later I'm to start 225 iu of Gonal with 75 iu of Menopur. After 5 days of those injections, I get an US to see where we are with follicle growth and can end up doing more shots until US shows right size... at which time I do the trigger, where two days later they are targeting the retrieval. I'm going to then be waiting like Danaa for transfer time. At some point after the retrieval they are going to have me back on birth control.
If I don't go on my trip in October, then I would start taking Leuprolide on September 30, stop taking birth control on October 6, start taking estradiol on October 9, and continue taking both Leuprolide and estradiol until October 22 at which time I stop the Leuprolide and instead start taking progesterone, then doxycycline and methylprednisolone in advance of the transfer, which would be schedule October 27. That is smack dab in the middle of a work trip I am supposed to be on so I will probably push doing the transfer until November. The November transfer would be scheduled for November 16, which would work better for me.
This process is going to be >$10k
Me: 38 DH:46

7 units hGH x 43 days (from 10/24 until trigger), 150iu Follistim and 150iu Menopur x 13 days (with last three days the Menopur dropped to 75iu and last four days with 250iu Ganirelix shots), 2000iu hcg and Luprene trigger
IVF#1 26 eggs retrieved (9/16/16), 14 fertilized, 0 blasts
225iu Follistim/Gonal-F and 75iu Menopur x 13 days (with last two days the Follistim dropped to 150iu and last four days with Ganirelix shots), 2000iu hcg and Luprene trigger + 2mg Estradiol until retrieval, methyl prednisolone and doxycycline following retrieval

Thanks for the feedback ladies!

Star- wow! Sounds like you got the schedule down packed! That's great news and hoping it all does well for oyu.

Danaa- you deserve a drink or two!! ;-)

Ordering co10 off amazon in the store it's so pricey! And she wants me taking 200mg 3xs a day. I guess it's less expensive than other options though! Looking into a costoc membership as you can buy them in bulk there.

Good afternoon all!!

Hi Wishful and PHDer!!!! Glad to have a cheering section!!!

Starmint: I got pregnant with #4 on the minipill. I was on and missed a pill and whammo...it was more like..I wonder if I skip a pill if I could get pregnant...and then I just stopped using them...it can totally happen.

Flybutter: Good luck with the new doc. I had to switch with my last one as well....I went to deliver #4 and she got angry that I wouldn't let her break my water so she could deliver before she left for a clinic...I never went back to her.

Momma of 4 Hello! God Luck to you too!!

Andi: Has your doc considered baby aspirin? Ensuring your lining doesn't clot the egg out? I went on it with #3 and it seemed to work. My AFs were super clotty. Went off when I found out I was pregnant...and they had to put me on progesterone as well for that one. Each pregnancy is different.

NickySy: God luck with your IUI!!! It is all about the environment....is it conducive to the blastocyte? meaning, are you too acidic and it's a boy? Or too alkaline and it's a girl? I plan on doing research on this one day. Do we miscarry when our bodies are meant to carry one or the other etc? Look at what the families have a majority of...are you alkaline or acidic? in between? Something to think about, since ruling it out doesn't hurt. God luck!!!!!

Danaa: Thank you for the new thread....wishing you God Luck on your TTC journey!

AFM: We went to a county fair today...so easy to get around without a bubby...but something struck me and I realize that I would really love that 6th baby. So I am wrestling on an earthly and spiritual level, which means I must go with the spiritual win. I do not ever want to regret not having another bubby....At least trying. If it doesn't happen it isn't meant to be. What I mean by that is I know women who tried for years to have babies and couldn't...they end up divorced..remarried, and WHAMMO...pregnant...it wasn't meant to be with that previous person. Our paths are quite amazing.

Thanks Nicky! I appreciate the prayers! Please do say one for me.

Fly- good luck with your appointment!

Foster - No she didn't suggest baby aspirin. I've heard this, maybe I should just give it a try? I also asked her about progesterone because my sister had low prog. She told me "it's the old school way of diagnosing infertility and that your levels can change like 10xs a day so there's no point in testing for it." I wish she would just give me some in case that is the reason! Ugh. I know I can get a second opinion but honestly I've seen 2 different OBs and now an RE in the past 2 years about this all and I just don't know. I guess for now I'll try to CoQ10. How many mg of aspirin were you on??

*sigh* this roller coaster ride sucks!

Andi ur new doc pissed me off,low progesterone is a serious thing and I personally "saw" one of the girls from one of my groups going trough 3 misscariages bcs she had low progesterone but she didn't know it was only at her third loss(twins) when the doc came and told her very rudely she is about to lose her babies Bcs her progesterone was super low.

I was fine with my first two but miscarried 5 times before my doc put me on progesterone and I carried that month to my 3rd son. So...it is something to discuss. Each pregnancy is different and your body can change over time hormonally. Worth a try for both. I was on BA with him as well.

I know, my sister kept bugging me "I think you need progesterone" but how do I convince a doc I need it!? *Sigh* I guess it's worth another trip to another doctor. Why can't they all just be good doctors!! I'm getting so tired of them. I just feel like it's a business sometimes instead of actually caring.

Andi, I'm sorry you are having trouble with your doctor. If you don't like him/her definitely find a new one. I spent almost a year with my last OBGYN and she was awful. Danaa kept bugging me to get a new one and I finally did lmao.

I had my first appointment with new OB today and she was very thorough. Go back in 4 weeks and then on September 12 for our anatomy scan. Now to see if I can patiently wait! >.<

How was everyone's weekend? Nice to see you got out Foster, I love going to county fairs! It's been so long since I've been to one and hubby is not a fan of them especially the ones who have animals caged (this part I dislike as well). I'm glad you got to take a break from the stress of TTC.
