Hi!

How's it going? :)

I'm kind of bummed about a friend moving back home, she was the only one who lived close by and actually took the time to see me, etc. Of course I am happy for her dream coming true but for me it feels like there really aren't that many people in my life.

We took the baby outside yesterday evening with him in lightweight shoes (which he hates, even socks seem like torture to him) and clothes that can get a little dirty, and he took his first steps outside. Had a knack for finding little rocks, too, hehe. He loved it so much that I think it's going to be in our daily routine from now on. We couldn't really take him outside to play in the dirt before because the yard was too soggy. It's still waiting for a lot of work before you can call it a yard, but at least it's dry enough for the little boy.

Have a great weekend! I'm not sure what the plan is here. :)

Good evening!

I'm glad to hear your Easter visit with your family was nice! I'm sure it was good to see them.

As of right now I don't know about another sono , I think we are going to privately get one and see if we can get another attempt to see what it is. I won't see my ob until the second week of May and If they do another sono it'll be around 36 weeks to check growth/weight.

I'm sorry your friend left :( I know the feeling. My best friend since childhood took a job avfes states away and I rarely see her anymore so I completely understand how you're feeling . How is the baby group going?

Awe his first experience in the dirt, I love it!! Im so glad he enjoyed himself :)
I think most babies hate socks and shoes at first lol, sometimes i still dislike wearing shoes, I love being barefoot so I don't blame him lol.

Work and spring sports are running me absolutely ragged. I just don't have the energy to keep up with it all anymore, I'm glad I'll have the summer to get my house squeaky clean and organized before the baby comes lol.

Have a great week!!

Hi!

How's it going? :) Any news about the gender? Or when you're going to be able to get another sono?

I'm sorry I haven't been around much, had a busy week! I got a bigger car, etc. and we had visitors for my DH's birthday (which is today). Too bad it started snowing after we got home from the car dealership and DH wanted to drive the new car home, so I haven't had a chance to get behind the wheel for more than a quick test drive. The car has summer tires on, so I don't want to risk it.

The snow is depressing because tomorrow is supposed to be the first real day of spring here (May first is a national holiday here), and I can't imagine going out for a picnic. And that's what we were planning on doing.

I'm beginning to realize that it won't be long until Samu's first birthday and I have no idea of how to throw him a party! We won't have a lot of guests but I still want to have a party for him. I guess I need to get a move on it. ;)

Talk to you later, have a great Sunday!

Good morning!!

No word on gender, I see my ob this upcoming Thursday and he'll go over everything with us. We are going to go for a private scan the following week, the 17th, to see if we can find out gender, hopefully baby will cooperate thus time.

How exciting you got a new car!! I hope your weather has cleared so you could drive it more! I haven't been around much either. Work, sports, my family and trying to keep my house clean is proving to be exhausting leaving no time for anything other than sleep.

It is almost his first birthday!! Are you excited and ready for that!!?? What a big boy, it's gone so quickly!

Are you set with daycare and everything for when you head back to work? Gosh June is coming quickly!

The baby is still so low, I feel lots of kicks on the inside but it's all in my groin area, can't feel anything on the outside by hand yet :( I'm only 23 weeks and there's days it positions itself putting a lot of pressure on my groin/low pelvic area and causing hip pain/discomfort that I fear what it'll be like if it doesn't move up a little as it grows. I've never had any of my babies sit so low before.

I hope you've enjoyed your weekend!!

Hi!

I'm crossing my fingers and toes for your upcoming scan! I hope the baby decides to co-operate! How exciting!

Are you still feeling sick most of the time? I think your pregnancy is very much alike my co-worker's in the nausea department. I'm sorry. :( I hope the baby finds a better location soon!

It's funny how time goes by so quickly! I can't believe he's almost one, either! And no, I'm not ready! I need to do a lot of cleaning and baking and shopping for that! Instead I visited my workplace today... hehe. I "go back to work" for the summer holiday and start working for real in August. I wanted to pop in and see if my going back for the upcoming academic year was still in the works or not. Didn't get an official paper stating that, but got a sheet of my classes for next year. It's always like this, and I hate it.

I have to go now, Samu's a bit cranky because his naps have been too short today.

Hi!

I really hope it cooperates, I dislike not knowing lol. I'm not patient enough to wait. That's coming up next week, I'm excited but nervous it won't let us see for certain.

I am definitely feeling better. Thank goodness.. I lost in total 22 lbs and I've put on 2 since my last months appointment. I go to the ob today so we will see what his scales say. baby is still spending g almost all of its time on my bladder and cervix kicking/hitting downward toward my pubic region.

Going back to work is always a huge adjustment when you've gotten used to being a mommy at home. It will be tough for me to go back too after this baby, we get 8 weeks off and that's it.

The cleaning and baking is the worst part of bday parties lol but it'll all be worth it on the day of the party! Im in shock at how quickly time has passed. Do you have his party date set?

Hi!

We started celebrating today, DH's side of the family visited (mine are too far away), and tomorrow his godparents are coming for a visit.
Here are some pics of my accomplishments. :)

Happy Mothers' Day!

I'm glad to hear that you're doing better but sorry to hear the baby is hanging so low and making you uncomfortable. I wonder why he/she is staying so low at such an early stage.

I have so much respect for you American moms for being able to go back to work so soon after the delivery! I feel like I'm nowhere near ready even now!

I hope the baby co-operates this week! I'm also betting on a girl... ;) :D

It's amazing how now my no-longer-a-baby-but-a-toddler seems to understand a lot of what I say to him. He knows where to go when I tell him we should change the diaper or take a nap or have lunch, etc. Tell him it's time for a shower with his dad and he practically runs to the bathroom door. :) He's also started initiating things. And he's been adjusting his daily routine to having only one nap a day... All these changes are making my head spin! :O

Have a great week and tell me how you're doing. :)

Happy birthday Samu!!! Even though I'm late

Happy Mother's Day wakasa! You did a wonderful job on the food, your watermelon is adorable!! How did the birthday festivities go??

The ob said it's normal for it to be so low but I don't remember either of my other two doing that. I think this baby just found its comfort spot down there which is gonna make for an uncomfortable summer I think.

The mothers here aren't ready to go back to work but it's forced unless you use built up vacation time or quit your job. It's truly crappy that they don't give us more time off with newborn babies. You're not even out of post partum recovery before you have to leave your newborn baby, it's ridiculous.

Before you know it wakasa he'll be telling you all these things instead of just knowing what they are when you tell him, he'll be talking like crazy lol. It's so amazing how quickly they catch on to things like that. He's such a big boy I can't believe it's been a year already.

My Dh thinks it's a girl too. I'm torn on what I think, there's things that have been so similar to both prior pregnancies so that's not really any indication lol. This baby just wants to keep me guessing lol. I looked in the baby section and starting over 7.5 years later feels really overwhelming, there's so many new products and things to buy.. I just don't even know where to start lol.

Hi!

Thank you, for the both of us! The festivities went well, there was enough food for everyone, etc. I was dog tired for the couple of days afterwards but now I'm feeling normal again. Whatever that is these days, anyway, LOL.

I hope the baby will get a little higher for you, having that much discomfort and pain down there so early is just not right. :( It wasn't nice having the baby press on my lungs, either, but the pressure in the pelvic area was torture even if I didn't have to deal with that for too long.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you today, it's the day of your private scan, right?

Hi!

It is our scan today! We go at 1230 lunch time so that would be dinner time for you wouldn't it? I'm excited and truly hope we get solid evidence of gender!

Birthday parties really are exhausting. You put so much into them that being exhausted after is inevitable lol. I'm glad it all went smooth!! Did he enjoy present opening?

Im starting to feel some movement up higher. Must be bc I'm heavier I couldn't feel it?? But it definitely likes that down low pelvic position for some reason. Being uncomfortable so early does have me worrying, I'm hoping it starts to move around more and not sit there so much as it starts to get bigger or it'll be a long and very uncomfortable summer.

I hope to come back with a gender to reveal!!! :)

Hi!

I hope everything checked out well at the scan and the baby cooperated! :)

We had Samu's 12-month checkup today, and he now weighs 11.280 kgs and is 77.3 cm tall. The nurse wants us to take him to a physical therapist because of his bow legs (he looks like a cowboy from those old Western movies), his blood iron level is low, and they finally believe he's allergic to something... So we're seeing a doctor about it, but unfortunately it won't be a specialist at this point. Just when I finally gave up on dieting milk, etc., when it didn't seem to make a difference... :)

I'll go to bed now, I'm pretty worn out. Talk to you later!

Hi!

Everything went well and SHE cooperated!! It's a girl, they thought so at our 20 week anatomy scan but weren't sure bc the cord was in between her legs but it was confirmed today!! I'm shocked I really thought she was a boy all along.

I'm so glad they are finally realizing he has an allergy, do you need to have him tested to see what it might be?? Will he start an iron supplement? What's your thought on the physical therapist, are you going to take him? Does it hinder him being able to walk or function properly?

Did you notice any difference in your dieting that helped him or made things worse? I hope it all gets straightened out soon for you. He's getting so big, wow!!!

Talk to you later!!

Hi!

Congratulations on the gender news!!! And I told you so! ;) Hehe! Isn't it a relief, finally knowing the gender?! :) Well done, little princess! :hb:

I'm not sure what testing will be done and in what time frame. I think blood tests aren't reliable with small children/babies, so I'm doubtful for those. I didn't really notice any difference in him while on my diet, so I think the allergy might be something else than food related. Or I just didn't catch what the cause is. I honestly don't know.

I read up on bow legs in babies, and it seems it's a developmental phase, so I'm not worried. Sure, we'll take him to the physical therapist but I'm not worried. At least not yet. :) And the nurse wasn't too worried about the blood iron level because he's such an energetic kid, but they'll test the levels again in June. She mentioned breastmilk as a cause for low blood iron levels, but that was false information (I checked with our equivalent of the La Leche League).

I need to get showered and ready for the day, talk to you later! :)

Hi!

I hope you're having a great weekend! I'm all alone with Samu for all of the weekend, DH (or not so dear at the moment) is off to Prague with his friends, enjoying life and Czech beer and food... :( He promised me he wouldn't go abroad on his own for the next two years, but I'm doubtful he will honor that. Apparently his life is so exhausting that he needs a weekend away with the guys.

Samu learned how to climb on the couch and he came down hard twice last night while I was trying to clear up the dishes after dinner... Today he's been better about now jumping up and down while on the couch. And he's getting more temper tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants... It's such a nice, mellow life I'm living... :D ;)

Summer finally decided to come here, it was really hot yesterday and I had trouble deciding what to have Samu wear outside. Well, deciding what to wear myself was also difficult. :)

I hope you're adjusting to the news of the baby being a girl! It took me a while to fully realize that after having thought for many months that I'd be getting a girl. ;)

Talk to you later!
