Trying to be more relaxed. Anyone else?

Postby Mari Mo04 » Thu Aug 11, 2016 10:52 am

I'm at CD 7 today and trying to be more relaxed about things this go around. This is my second month back to TTC after a six month break. Anybody interested in trying to relax with me?

I am relaxing!!! I have not bought any opk or hpt sticks. I thought WHY? I feel when I ovulate and if I don't get my period then there a good chance I'm pregnant. I've wasted so much money over the years on sticks. I've also experienced so much loss. I do have one daughter who is 6 (total blessing). And now my wonderful husband has agree to try and make me a new mama one more time. I don't want to stress this time.

I should ovulate on Friday. So, hey, let's relax together!!

Hoping to be relaxed this time but I know I'm a chronic obsesser and poas addict so we will see how that goes. We were planning to start in 1-2 months but it seems this month is now when we will be try lol. Should O soon but keeping it low key and just tracking BD in FF with the odd book here and there. Not sure if I should call it NTNP or sorta trying and planning lol.

Hopefulrosey: My first child was lost at 22 weeks due to incompetent cervix. My second was a blighted ovum. The third and fourth were m/c. I had my daughter after being on bedrest from 22 weeks on with a cerclage in place to keep my cervix closed. She was upside down the whole time. I know when I ovulate but its hard to convince my body to hold on to the egg.
Oh, and my ticker says I have 9 days till ovulation but I usually ovulate on CD 11 but CD14 if my body acts right..lol.

BMichaelson: I would normally be stocked up to the ceiling but can't do it this time. I'm trying not to be over confident but I feel pretty positive about us conceiving. And plus...I'm broke.. (hehehehe) Hey, it helps. I'll plan to test Sept. 2 and it will be a dollar store test.

Also, what CD are you all on? When do you expect to ovulate?

I've been refraining from ordering anything lol. Only reason I tried a couple opks is I have some leftover expired ones from before.

I am usually piled high too lol.

Just sent DH out to get some headache meds and prenatal vitamins. I gave him the go ahead to grab some opks too because my head is killer tonight. If he doesn't we'll both be doing the zombie bd tonight...lol I went off Depo Shot last March and my cycle was horrible after. Only having had the shot twice too. I finally got a normal cycle in December all 14 days then O and 14 days and AF. But now my luteal phase is shrinking and my O day is closer to CD 11. I don't think I'm stressing much but I'm going to do whatever I can to chill out going forward.

Oh man, I wish I had an 11 day O lol. Mine is usually CD 18 and it feels like it takes FOREVER! It's only nice when not ttc since but I can be anywhere from 29-35 days so I never really know unless I'm tracking O.

Also that should say opks not books :P
Spell check doesn't like ttc acronyms haha

I hope so too, Mari. I am not buying any OPKs and just have one HPT which I will save for the new cycle.

Like faith I also O between CD11-12 so I have about 2 week wait until O. I am on CD25 and AF should come anytime. Once I figure I am out, I just want AF to start asap so that I can start fresh.

Bmichaelson, I see that you have Hashimotos. Does that mean hypo? Did you have it while pregnant with your LO? I am asking because I have subclinical hypo (TSH 4.5). Obgyn said she normally would not be concerned and only monitor me annually, but as I am TTC she started me on 50mg thyroxine.

Ya I've been hypo for years. I'm currently on 88 mcg of synthroid. Before I had my son I was at 75 and during she had me on 100. She also ordered a lot of scans to monitor his thyroid while I was pregnant since it can cause issues. I don't know what my free t3 and t4 levels are but my antibodies are usually active so I'm constantly being attacked by my immune system. My whole family has it.

Ok I got a pos opk this morning but not sure if we will BD or not. I figure we will just relax about it. We skipped the last couple days and I didn't tell DH about the opk. But at least I will know about when AF should show up now.

I'm not doing opks either. Just going by my CM. Hubby and I BD last night and I'm feeling my typical pre-o bloating and discomfort today. I'm waiting for a referral to a perinatal specialist from my GP so we aren't trying too hard this cycle, but as always I am hopeful for a BFP and a sticky rainbow. Glad I've got you ladies to get through the tww with!

AF got me! I am kinda relieved and looking forward to fresh start.

BMichaelson, sorry that I am asking too many questions but I am sort of new to hypo and I have a lot of concerns. What were you TSH was when you conceived DS? Did your thyroid mess with your cycles / O? How long did it take you to bring TSH down and how long to get a BFP? I have pretty regular and predictable cycles but I am worrying as I hear hypo could make women progesterone deficient or stop O altogether. Docs keep telling things but its so much more comforting hearing from someone like you who conceived with hypo.

Boooo to AF!

I can't remember what my TSH was then but it was down to 1-2 while I was pregnant. My cycles have always been irregular but consistently so lol. I usually O between cd15-18 and my LP is fairly normal so I go from a 29-35 day cycle and avg out to 31 days most times.

It took us 2 years to get our son but we did get pg twice before that. We started TTC Aug 2012 but I had to break from Nov or Dec to maybe around Mayish since I moved jobs and had to wait out the probation period first to qualify for leave. We got a BFP in Sept of 2013 but it was ectopic and ruptured at 7 weeks and I lost my right tube. Then we had a chemical the following Jan (2014) and in May 2014 I got pg with my son.

So it seems it takes a few months for me to get a BFP each time and then just wait to see if it's a sticky safe one. I was monitored a lot at first due to previous ectopic and then thyroid. I had an HSG in Feb 2014 to confirm my remaining tube was open and it was and my OB offered clomid but I declined and figured we would try 3 or 4 more months first and we succeeded.

I've seen a lot of hypo ttcers and hardly any of them had O problems or no O, so you should be ok. I'm also pretty sure it didn't have anything to do with our losses. I think the biggest concern is once you get pg it has to be monitored closely or the baby could end up with issues too. I think you tend to need higher meds since the baby sucks up a lot of the thyroid hormones from the mom.

I don't think I've ever had my progesterone tested or if I did they didn't tell me.
