Welcome to the boards! I'm 8 dpo today and have spent the last two days squinting at wondfos trying to find a bfp lol. I don't have many symptoms, but I never do with my bfp's. I've lost two pregnancies this year, one just last month, so I have mixed feelings about what I want to see out of this cycle. I see my doctor to discuss things on the 24th of this month. Part of me feels like it would be better if I didn't get a bfp this month, so I had time to make a plan with my doctor, but the other part of me is hoping that the last two were just a terrible coincidence and that my rainbow is on the way!

What kind of symptoms have you been having? I had puffy access a couple of days ago (they were huge before my last bfp) but they have since deflated. My boobs hurt, which is unusual, but I'm on progesterone cream this cycle so it might be from that. I've had some light cramps, but they aren't around today, so I'm just twiddling my thumbs waiting!

It sounds like you have some good things going on! Fingers crossed for that bfp!

I'm pretty sure I'm out. With all of my pregnancies, I've either had my bfp by 10 or 11 dpo, but I've always had a hint of a line for a day or two before. This morning's 10 dpo test was stark white, so I'm pretty sure I'm out. :/

Bummer. Hopefully you get a nice surprise BFP, though! I'm 99% sure I'm out this month. My aunt is an OB and she said you will typically get your BFP's around the same time. I've never gotten one past 11 dpo, and there's always been a faint line before that. My LP is only 11 days, so AF is likely going to be here by Wednesday.

Hi, I'm new to the forum :)
I'm currently 7dpo and I am some symptoms (well I think I am) but do not want to get my hopes up just yet!
Been having cramps on the left side since about 5dpo, a few spots to the chin- which isn't abnormal with AF due next week and I'm really tired all the time to the point where my eyes are burning I'm that tired! But kind of putting that down to working with small children and my body is going into holiday mode for the summer holidays which is not to far away now! Also a few twinges to my boobs which usually doesn't happen untill atleast 3 days before af.
Would love this month to be THE month but trying not to get my hopes up to early. Af is due the 20th so trying to hold out with testing untill atleast in missed the period!

Sorry Mrs.K. :( She showed for me yesterday, too. I'm my case it's for the best. I'm pretty sure I have a lining issue so I want to get to my appointment on the 24th and all my doctor about things. Best of luck in this coming cycle!

I'm hoping he'll order bloodwork. Last I talked to his nurse about progesterone she said they don't normally do that, that it was something usually an RE would do. I don't have any experience with an OBGYN other than a regular pregnancy last time and normal checkups, so I'm not sure what all he's able to do. It seems like that basic bloodwork would be easy enough to take a look at, though. I called today to put a note on my appointment that I want an ultrasound to check my lining just so it's on the books if he says yes and I don't have to make another appointment.

I often don't O until CD 23, so I'm apprehensive about the standard CD 21 progesterone check. I think that's usually to check that you are ovulating, right? We know I O, since I get pregnant easily! (And because I've been tracking my bbt.) I'm wondering if he'll have me check it right before I expect AF, since that's when it might start to fall and affect a pregnancy? I don't know.

I actually did use progesterone cream this last cycle just in case. I found it that they have a hard time knowing just how much you're getting, though. With the pills you get like 400 mg a day. With the cream it's 40mg a day. But they say you don't absorb the pills as well as the cream. Still, I read that one midwife suggested you'd need 4x the regular dose of cream to be effective.

I'm not taking anything this cycle because I have my appt on Monday so I want it to just be a normal cycle while I get checked out.

I actually drank a pre-conception tea the cycle I got pregnant with my son and I've been wondering if maybe it actually did what it said it would- thicken and prepare the uterine lining for implantation. I'm thinking I'll start that back up next cycle and then the rest will depend on what I find out from my doc.

And yes, I hear you. I did track my cycles before #1, but I got pregnant on cycle 3 with him. When the same thing happened this time I never thought I'd be here months later with two MC's and still not pregnant. :/

Well, I got some things checked off my list, so I know they are NOT an issue, but I didn't get any solid answers. Here's my long summary that I posted to one of the buddy groups:

Ok… here’s the summary of my appointment.

Uterus and ovaries looked good on ultrasound- no PCOS. You can’t see scar tissue on ultrasound, but he said having scar tissue from my incisions or IUD is not high up on the list of likely things that could cause mc. He didn’t tell me what my lining was because he said it can vary so much and that if they were going to take the measurement into account, he’d want to see it after O. He said it looked “just fine” for this point in my cycle. He’s still not worried about how short and light my periods are; they are regular, which he says is more important. Overall answer- he’s not concerned but if I want to look into it, he’s willing to refer me to a specialist.

He said my 11 day LP is borderline- it could be totally healthy, or I could still possibly have a Luteal Phase Defect. He’s willing to put me on progesterone after a BFP just to ease my mind, but there’s no proof that it will save a failing pregnancy. Overall answer- he’s not concerned but if I want to look into it, he’s willing refer me to a specialist.

Thyroid- thy actually checked basic thyroid function with my last pregnancy blood work and it was fine.

Insulin resistance/diabetes- This is the most likely candidate for causing an issue (if there is one- he still leans more towards the likelihood that the two losses were just an unfortunate coincidence). My fasting sugars were around 105 (for pregnancy they want you below 95, preferably in the 80s). This was after 6 weeks of removing sugar from my diet and eating well (except for Sundays when I allow myself a treat in the evening). I am not diabetic, but he said I’m headed that way so I need keep working on getting healthier. He wants me to follow up with a GP about this, as insurance may require a referral through them rather than him.

The bottom line: It could go either way and at this point it’s my decision where to go from here. My experience warrants looking into with a reproductive endocrinologist or perinatologist if I so choose, but he was also not against putting that on hold to see what happens in the coming months. Whether I decide to see one of those specialists depends on whether my insurance is willing to cover it. He told me not to mention the word infertility or they would likely say no. “Habitual abortion” is the medical term for multiple losses. Such ugly words, but I guess more likely to be treated as a health condition insurance is willing to cover. He said they may turn me down because I’ve only had two. If I have a third, then he said I would definitely need to see them, and that it would be more likely to be covered.

He’d like to see me lose a “significant” amount of weight before becoming pregnant again (which was the biggest blow- weight loss takes so much time…) but didn’t say we needed to prevent pregnancy. I purposely didn’t ask, and I assume he would have given me a vague answer that hinted at, “It’s not my place to tell you that you can’t try for a baby, but as a doctor, I don’t think you should until you dropped a bunch of weight.” He didn’t give me a number, but I got the impression he was talking like 6+ months of hard work kind of numbers. I know it’s important for me to get healthy, but I don’t think I have it in me to just completely put TTC on the shelf that long. I’m thinking I’ll try my best to NTNP. I might have to have Russ hide the OPKs and HPTs so I can only test if I’m late. And maybe I won’t temp… maybe lol. I don’t know. This is all so fresh right now that I’m just not sure where I want to go from here. I’m thinking this cycle we will NTNP and then I’ll see what insurance says about seeing the RE and/or perinatologist.

Thank you! I just talked to insurance and the specialists are covered, so that's a relief. I still need to meet my deductible, so it's a lot to consider but at least I have some options...

Yeah... I just took one lol. DH and I had a good long talk last night and decided that we'd go ahead and try for one more pregnancy. If it doesn't end well, we will know that we need to spend the money to see the specialist.

I was going to start a pre-conception tea and baby aspirin next cycle, so part of me thought it would be best to wait until then but then I saw a bunch of ewcm this morning, and all bets were off. I figured maybe we can just BD once I get a positive opk and call it good. That way there's a chance, but I won't be too surprised or upset if AF shows up.

So there are a bunch of natural teas that supposedly boost fertility. Fertilitea is one brand I've heard mentioned a lot on here. Most of them are a red raspberry leaf blended with other fertility herbs. Most of them contain vitex, which I read can alter your cycles, so I went with one that did not have vitex in it, which is called "pre-conception tea" by a company called Herb Lore.

When I purchased it the first time, it was $18, then like $28 several months ago, now it's up to $40+. The bag (3.2 oz) will last for I'm thinking at least 6 cycles from AF to O. I just found that Amazon sells the tea alone for over $40, but the same size, same brand tea plus a bottle of vitex for $32. You can find that here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00PYJQ1 ... eption+tea

It looks like the fertilitea brand is $18 for 3 oz on Amazon. That one does contain vitex. (For people with long, irregular cycles, vitex can help make you regular). It says it's a 30 day supply, so maybe that's if you drink it throughout your cycle? I stopped after O because I thought I read you weren't supposed to drink red raspberry leaf if you were pregnant. Plus, I hate tea and thought it was gross lol. Hope that helps!

Oh, and herblore has a tincture on Amazon, too. I think maybe it's supposed to do the same things as the tea, but then you don't have to drink so much? I'm not sure of the concentration or anything.

Oh and for cm, I found mine increased dramatically by upping my water intake and taking Mucinex during my fertile window. Others swear by evening primrose oil.

Fertility friend has a blurb about sperm safe lubricants, saying they are just that. They replace the vaginal secretions that lubricate the vagina, but won't replace fertile cm and don't increase chances of pregnancy (or really there's no data backing it up). They say only use it if sex is uncomfortable without it, but try to increase your own cm naturally if possible.

We used preseed just as lube I think every time I got pregnant (I'd either smear a dab on myself externally right before bed, or put it on hubby as heated up). Usually there's a little oral action beforehand and that's enough, but we stopped doing that during my fertile window because spit can actually have a negative impact on sperm, so the preseed was a replacement to just help get things going. ;)
