Sad

Postby NewlyWed_Z » Tue Dec 12, 2017 7:09 am

It's really sad to see how not so active this site is anymore... at least not for a newbie. Last time I was on here (2+ years ago), my sanity was saved by some amazing ladies. Now that I'm going through this again, I'm just feeling very down that it's not as active.

Meh - I dunno. Just needed to vent a bit. I'm 5dpo and hating work at the mo lol, so maybe that's all it is ;)

Hehehe :) maybe you’re in one of the other groups? Never seen you around before, and the other groups are well known to each other so I feel like I’m creeping when I read the long posts :)

Oh, exciting!

How are you feeling this time around? How many months now trying with IVF?

I am SO feeling out. I don't think I got the timing right this time around, and I have zero symptoms (6dpo).

Generally feeling pretty blue - which is just NOT nice at this time of the year.

I am officially on my 24th cycle ttc and 2nd medicated IUI.

We have done the whole nine yards of testing 2 times. They never found anything wrong with me but my husband's results vary. Based on 4 semen analyses in last 2 years, our diagnosis has switched from severe male factor to unexplained infertility. We were in 'unexplained' until this last IUI where they suspected he might have developed recently antibodies (none of his previous samples showed antibodies). So now he will get tested again. A ttc girl cannot
Catch a break. If this cycle doesn't take, we will move on to IVF in January.

What's your story? :)

Hi Rosey! Thank you for replying! :)

Oh wow, you've got quite the journey. I think one of the worst things is not knowing the issue, isn't it? I have a friend that had a rough time and had great success with IVF... 3 x over ;) *triplets... eep!*

I was very active here 2+ years ago when I was TTC my first. I got pregnant after lots of info gathering and was on all sorts of vitamins and teas and did SMEP (2nd cycle). She is now 17 months old :)

I'm TTC a sibling for her. I feel like it's time. We've been NPNT for a couple months now. I even had a month where I was 10 days late and was so sure I was pregnant... but nope, AF showed.

This is my first month of tracking O like a hawk (OPKs), but not sure I timed BDing right. So we will see (I'm 6dpo).

Hoping to follow your journey!!!

Hi Sue & Rosey!

I'm coming up on 2 years of TTC #1. I'm in the TWW following my first IVF (after 3 failed IUIs and prior months of trying naturally.) My problem is my Diminished Ovarian Reserve, which makes getting pregnant REALLY HARD, but not impossible.

I'm 3dp5dt and I feel pretty normal for the TWW. Sore bbs, but that's from the progesterone I have to take. I did have some light pink spotting yesterday (which was 2 days post a 5 day embryo transfer) so in normal cycles that would be 7dpo.

My beta is on Tuesday next week, but I'll probably test this weekend!

Sue - Yes its been quite a journey for me and its confusing to not know what it is. We are quite prepared for IVF after DH's 1st SA (87% of his sperm had defragmented DNA that gave us 10% chance of ever conceving). Then, the RE ordered 2nd SA to make the final treatment plan. Turned out DNA issue had magically resolved itself and DH scored normal on all parameters. That was 6 cycles ago. Why aren't we pregnant yet? We don't know

Sunshine - Pleased to meet you. Looks like we have a similar ttc profile and I might soon join you on IVF journey. Though tightly crossing everything that this is it for you and you get your well deserved bfp next week... Praying for you

How was your IUI experience? Our RE initially wanted to try 3 IUIs before moving to IVF. But, it took us four months to get to IUI#2. The month after first failed IUI was cancelled as CD3 US showed 2x 20mm+ on my ovaries (likely a side effect of ovitrelle shot). The cycle after was cancelled because I ovulated too early (CD10), before they could even give me ovitrelle. Seeing our desperation, he is willing to skip IUI#3 and go straight to IVF.

Rosey - I wish I had just gone straight to IVF, if I could go back and do it again, I would. I was on Clomid for the IUIs and they were just 3 crap-shoot shots to see if something would take before IVF, but I wasn't confident any of them would work and they didn't.

If you're ovaries were growing like that for IUI, IVF might work well for you! I was expected to be a low responder and was on a higher dose of the stims than likely you will be.

Do you like your clinic that you go to? I started my IUIs at one clinic and switched before my first IUI was complete. We couldn't get an appointment at the better clinic until a thousand bazillion months after I first called, but it was SO MUCH better.

Sunshine - I ovulate on my own so I have been on a lower dose of femara (50mg). However I still only produce one big follicle on femara . For IUI#2, I was asked to trigger @ 1 follie of 18mm and another of 13mm. IUI # 1 triggered @ 1 follie of 19mm and the other at 13mm. I had hoped to produce more big follies on meds. But RE doesn't want to get too aggressive.

I actually like the clinic. I also had to wait 4 months to get my 1st appointment with him, but he seems to be worth the wait. It is a small private practice and the RE is very compassionate. He listens and doesn't mind taking suggestions from me.. Like, he allowed me try progesterone for 2 cycles because I feared my progesterone might be low. We tried fpr 2 months, no bfp so I stopped.
