Wow, this thread is really active! I'm finding it difficult to keep up :D

Bebeck, good luck on the job interview! Did you hear back? I'm in the same position as you - thinking about quitting work for a while to reduce stress but don't want to get bored / lonely - especially since we've been trying for so long and don't actually know that anything will work. I'm definitely going to take time off for a month or so if we end up going through with IVF in the summer. It always seemed like such a long time away, but now its really coming up soon.
Happy to hear that your BBT is rising - cheering for you this TWW :D

Catblue6 - are you sure you ovulated late? If you did O late then AF will definitely be late. Your luteal phase is always consistent. I chart, so I know I ovulated late this month at CD21 (normally I'm a CD15 kinda gal) - my luteal phase is 14 days long so I always know that 15 days after O AF will arrive.

Fairytaledreams - Welcome! And yes, you can O early - O day can vary a bit month to month!

Mum2T - I'm so sorry to hear you're out this month. Sending loads of feel better wishes. Do you have an action plan for this month? Keep your hopes up - it can happen when you least expect it!

hdawson7 - Welcome! And good luck on your TWW!! I'm in the same boat as you - although I've just turned 38 :/ Up until Jan I'd never had a BFP - I then had 2 in a row which unfortunately ended in CPs :( I was supposed to have IUI in Jan but didn't because of the BFPs. I was planning to have an IUI round this month (Menopur & trigger) but I haven't been able to get through to the clinic and AF is due tomorrow. Did you have to go for scans before the IUI or just use OPKs? Because I don't know what to do with work if I have to have scans every few days.

AFM: I haven't tested since Sunday because BBT has been dropping and I started spotting last night... so 99% sure I'm out. I'm just waiting for AF to arrive tomorrow. If I can get through to my clinic I want to have a round of IUI this month as it might be my last chance before we start prepping for IVF in the summer. Not sure I want to go through with it but I don't see what else we can do! Really feeling that clock ticking at the mo.

Hi ladies!

Dini - I used OPKs this month to track when I O'd. Started testing on cd 11 and got all negatives until cd 25. Cd 25 was my first positive, and I got another positive on cd 26. This past cycle though I was sick at the beginning of April, and then had some major stress for a couple of days both of which I know can cause O to be delayed. So idk lol! No AF today, but when I went to the bathroom today I had snot like cm when I wiped; actually reminded me of when I lost my plug and went into labor with ds. I figure if AF has not made an appearance by 11dpo I will test again then, that's when I got a bfp with ds.

How's everyone else doing today?

Good Morning! I hope you all had a better night sleep than I did. IDK why, but I was up 1/2 the night with strange dreams and then several times I thought bugs were on me.... It's gonna be a long day.
Dini- I'm so sorry about both your CPs. I can't even imagine. To answer your question, there were no more scans that what was regularly given with Clomid/ trigger shot (I'm forgetting the name)
Last month and this month:
CD3 Scan/Bloodwork
CD11 (bc it fell on a weekend) Scan/Ultrasound
CD12 Trigger shot given at night, at home
CD14 IUI The procedure only took 20 mins. 1/2 of that time was me laying with my hips up, after they were done. We were there for about 40 mins prior to the procedure bc they needed to clean the sperm. So It does not take much time at all.
I know the feeling of the ticking clock, it's not fun. Fingers crossed for you. xx

Catblue6- take a bath, get a massage or a pedicure & relax. Stress is not good for your body!!(i'm sure you know that) I hope your snot like symptoms are a good sign, however I have no idea.

Fairytaledreams- So sorry about your grandma. xx

Hi everyone!
Welcome hdawson7! Good luck for this round!
Fairytaledreams sorry to hear about your grandma. I hope you get some good time with her.
Catblue6 hang in there! FX!
Dini I'm so sorry :( what's the news today? If AF did you schedule IUI?
Quick update on me: I'm at cd20 7dpo. I'm halfway through the tww! Yay! I'll post my chart just for fun. Nothing special to report.
I went to my first acupuncture today. I liked it a lot. Felt relaxed all afternoon. And the doctor was really nice. She recommends I change my prenatal and take more other vitamins too.
So still feeling positive this week.
Goodnight and happy Friday!

Go Bebeck!! I'm cheering for you here :) Yes, Acu is really relaxing - who would have thought having needles stuck in you would be relaxing.
Catblue6 - are you testing today? Good luck!!
Fairytaledreams - I'll keep all of my fingers and toes crossed for you too!
hdawson7 - thanks for the IUI info, for some reason I thought there were more scans! How many dpo are you now - are you planning on testing soon?

AFM: AF arrived promptly yesterday. I wasn't even that upset as I was expecting it (and because I felt I have the IUI plan for this month). Just glad its arrived so I can get on with my next cycle. I spoke to my clinic yesterday and they said I have to have a scan between CD1-4 - So I was booked for this morning - going soon. Then they said next scan will be next Friday to see if I should trigger or not. This feels exciting now but also don't feel like having a scan when I'm full flow AF and cramping! Ouch! Ha!

Dini- Good morning!!! HAPPY FRIDAY! Sorry AF reared her ugly face, but I'm happy that you have a game plan and are looking ahead to the IUI this cycle. Yes, the scan while AF is in full force is not fun. When I had mine, I told the technician and the dr "ummmm, I'm like bleeding REALLY bad". They assured me that they are used to that & not to worry if some got on the pad I was laying on. Still...... uncomfortable.... I would suggest you bring your own sanitary napkin for when you're getting changed after. My Dr had some in the bathroom, but they were as thick as a diaper. Just a tip. Good luck :)

Hey ladies, I’m back and feeling a lot better!
Wow the group has been so active, it’s so good to have this support.
Dini so sorry AF arrived. I was really routing for you. What an exciting month ahead for you though. I have a really good feeling for next month girls!!
BebeCK we’re all supporting you now. Do you recommend acupuncture? I’ve been toying with the idea for a while now.
Catblue - hopefully that snot CM is a symptom for you. Girls are right, stress is terrible. I think that’s what’s affecting me. I’m trying everything this cycle to keep it down and not worry about work.
Hdawson- when are you due AF? How long have you been trying? Throwing you lots of baby dust!
Fairytaledreams I’m so sorry about your grandma, I’ve every belief she’ll meet your little bub.
Hi to everyone I missed :)

My plans this month - BD as much as possible!! I’m also going to try charting. I’ll need your help girls.
Do I just download an app? When my temp rises does that mean I’ve o’d? Very confused!

Hi Mum2T- So happy this this is an active thread. In the short time I've been actively on here, It's helped so much to communicate with others who are in the same/similar situation.
I'll be 38 soon, never had a BFP. Husband and I have been trying for over a year, active with a specialist for 2 months now. Per all the tests I've gotten, the only thing I have against me is my age. The dr told us that my chances are around 20%.... My husband actually has an abundant amount of swimmers. The dr was actually very surprised at his result, hubs was relieved and now I think he walks a little taller LOL I'm actually really really relieved that there is nothing "wrong" with him. I could take the news if there was some issue with me, I would jump on the wagon and figure out a way to "fix" said issue. But with him, I could totally see him throwing in the towel and forgetting the whole idea of kids. So now, we have 5 insurance-covered IUI attempts left (if this month doesn't work) I'm on cd25, dpo11. I tested yesterday (not sure why, I knew it was too early) I'm thinking of testing again Saturday or Sunday, but I may just wait until the blood test on Monday. Even though i knew it was going to be a neg result I tested last night and it put me in a mood all night. I want to have a good weekend, so I might just wait till the blood test.
Thanks for the well wishes. If I do get AF next week, I'm going to look into charting/acupuncture as well.
How long have you been trying? (Happy Friday)

Happy Friday ladies!
It is very nice to be able to come on here and have others understand where I’m coming from. Mum2T is right, this group is hopping!! Let me see if I can catch up on everything…

Fairytaledreams – I am so very sorry about your grandmother. We lost my father-in-law 4yrs ago to cancer, it’s rough. But I am crossing my fingers everything goes well.

Hdawson7 – I need to do something because DS and DH are not helping my stress levels this week.

BebeCK – Thank you for the crossed fingers, I am doing the same for you.

Dini and Mum2T – I think I am out this cycle. I tested last night and got a BFN. Still no AF, I wish I knew how long my luteal phase was because I think that would help me. I at this point have no freaking clue what’s going….

Today makes me 11dpo, I am not going to test today. I think I will test sometime this weekend if AF doesn’t show up, but I think in my heart I know there’s no baby. It just makes me sad. Yesterday was rough, had a disheartening conversation with my father about my upcoming graduation (I just finished my BA in Psychology and will be walking in June). Then, last night I got the negative hpt; DS was beyond crabby and threw a toddler sized temper tantrum; then, DH tells me he doesn’t know if he wants another baby right now. I swear girls, I almost choked the life out of him. He is causing me more stress than anything right now, and he doesn’t get it. So needless to say I cried the whole night. I slept like crap, and this morning my eyes are swollen from all the crying. On top of that I really don’t want to be at work today, but I have to….. I’m struggling right now. Thank God for this group because otherwise I don’t know what I’d do. So happy Friday ya’ll lol.

Catblue I’m sending you big ((hugs)). I have definitely noticed I’ve been having terrible mood swings since TTC. We just don’t realise the effect it’s having on us. When you get a good symptom you’re up, when you feel AF you’re back down. You get some unusual CM and you’re up then you do a test and you’re back down. It’s an emotional roller coaster that would be worth it if we could just get that bfp but the problem is we haven’t had it yet so it’s extra hard.
Your DH is probably just finding it difficult to cope with all of this and the ups and downs that come with it. I shouted at my DH the other day for saying “it will happen when it happens, just relax”. They just don’t know what to say to us.
Congratulations on the graduation - that’s a fantastic achievement.
I know you don’t want to be in work but a distraction is what you might need. I think if we didn’t work we’d be at home driving ourselves mad.
I’m planning a family day today with my DS and DH and trying to remind myself to enjoy what I do have and also my son who’s 3 and growing fast! Very hard to do though.
I was like you last week, so depressed and disheartened. It passed after a few days when I’d finally accepted it wasn’t my month. Hoping you feel better soon xxx

Catblue6 - so sorry you're having a crappy time at the moment. Are you working and studying and looking after a child all at the same time? That surely must be super stressful and demanding on your time! I'm really impressed, no wonder you're struggling! Maybe now that you've finished your BA you might have one less stress?? (Or do you still have exams?).

hdawson7 - I feel like we're in completely the same situation! Nothing technically wrong with either me or OH - just my age (and a blood clotting disorder on my side but apparently it shouldn't affect things - either way, if I get another BFP they will put me on blood thinners straight away).

Mum2T - Glad you're feeling better! Acupuncture is great - really helps you relax :) Also, with the charting - you need to get a Basal Body thermometer - its like a regular one but shows you 2 decimal points. You can probably get a cheap one online or at the pharmacist - I got mine through an app called natural cycles when I signed up. I also have another app called Fertility Friend (because it has more to look at and chart than my other app and because I obsess over my temps) which has a free option. Then you take your temp every morning at the same time as soon as you wake up (before getting out of bed or do anything) and add it to your app. Your app will be able to tell you 3 days after you've ovulated - after you use it for a few months you get to learn your cycle quite well and you start seeing patterns. Basically, once you O your temp rises and then drops again when AF arrives (or stays up there if you get your BFP).

AFM: Had my scan this morning, everything was OK - then nurse showed my how to inject myself with menopur. Me and OH left the hospital a bit confused. Anyway, I'm supposed to inject at night, so we prepped everything tonight and I just injected myself for the first time ever! Yikes! It wasn't too bad though.
