SA results?

Postby Fedupofwaiting » Fri Nov 15, 2013 2:03 pm

Hi everyone, we went to GP today for test results my blood tests were fine ( low in progesterone but that's because I'm ovulating late in cycle so hadn't ovulated on cd 21 yet). But Dh got his SA results. I could tell as soon as we walked in doctor was trying to reassure us n stay positive saying several times " don't worry it only takes one". Basically she said that his sperm count was slightly lower than normal and also higher rate of abnormal sperm... She has referred us to specialist but didn't explain much more so I asked for a print out of the results so I could ask you guys for help understanding just how low/ high and the truth about our chances.....

It says:

Volume ( normal > 2.0 ml) 2.4
Total count ( normal >20 ). 6

Sperm % mobility sluggish. 12%
% mobility non progressive. 17%
% non motile. 71%
% abnormal forms. 97%

Anyone any idea what these mean???
Me - 28yrs
Dh - 29yrs
