Entering month 13, need support

Postby AndiA108 » Sun Oct 25, 2015 4:37 pm

Hey ladies, Since you're all in the same boat thought I could turn to some on here for support. Tried for a year, just got the wicked AF entering month 13. Really feeling low and sad about this. My charts are so confusing. I get dips below my coverline and spikes in my luteal phase.I did have my levels tested at 8 months and all was normal except my prolactin? They wanted me to test again while fasting.

I never did, felt like it was a waste of money. My doctor never looked at my charts and didn't seem too interested in my concerns.

Thinking of switching doctors for my next appoint. my annual is coming up in December and was going to talk about ttc then.

Was anyone's doctor interested in their charts? Am I right to be concerned about my current doctor (who i've only met once since I'm new to this area), not even looking at my charts?

Thanks!

My RE was more interested than my OB. I've been trying for over a year, too except with three losses. So we know I can get pregnant just haven't had a sticky one this year. Sorry you're going through this. It's so frustrating!

I'm sorry you're going through this. Firstly I wanted to say, it is hard and I'm sorry you're having a tough time. But looking for a good doctor who takes time to understand is a very good idea.

I love in Europe. We have been actively TTC since January this year but we were NTNP for a long time before that, I came off BCP in September 2011! We've had one loss at 6weeks and I think 2 CPs the last one was last cycle. This is when I found a good doctor, by luck, through my OBGYN and she immediately wanted to do hormone bloods again, I already had these in January. She also put me on baby aspirin straight away and ordered 2 ultrasound scans for me. Our next step is a HSG and semen analysis for DH. She was very optimistic and supportive though, and excuted for us about TTC, and she was so happy I had been charting and wanted me to show her. It really put me at ease and made me feel listened to.

I strongly suggest that you look for a good doctor who you feel listens to you. It has drastically reduced my stress and sadness. This is a tough enough journey without having to feel dismissed by medical professionals. Seek out good care for yourself, if there's anyone who you can ask for recommending a good doctor do it! The norm is to look for medical help after 12 months.
FX for you. I am here going through it too as are so many others. Sending you babydust and lots of positivity!

Hi Ladies,

I am at the start of my 11th cycle and definitely know how you feel about needing support. It's nice to have someone to talk to that understands what we're going through. I had a good cry when AF showed on Friday, and DH just doesn't get it. He has no idea what to say to me except, "it'll happen when it happens", and that doesn't really help...

I see that you're also 27, Andi. I'm sorry that your doctor didn't take you seriously. I feel like anyone I try to talk to about trouble TTC just says, "you're still young, it's normal for couples your age to take up to a year to conceive". Well, guess what? I've only got 2 more tries left to fit that statistic!

My annual OB visit is also coming up. Mine is November 5th, and I am going to ask about getting started on testing now, even though it's been a little less than a year. My cycles are regular, every month except one I've had a clear ovulation pattern on my chart, I've had well timed BD, and not a single BFP to show for it! There has to be something going on with me, or DH!

Is anybody trying anything new this cycle? I was thinking about trying pineapple core post-O.

Thanks for the support ladies. It is hard to go through this. Trying my best to stay positive. I looked into other doctors and will be scheduling my annual in December with another doc.

I'm taking pregnatude that was recommend by a nurse to me and drinking red rasberry leaf tea. Also might take zinc. What is the pineapple core?

From what I've read, the enzymes found in the core of a pineapple can help aid implantation. Here's the instructions:

1. A couple days before your ovulate, buy a fresh, organic pineapple (canned pineapple doesn't work). You buy it early because you want it to be nice and ripe.
2. Cut away all the exterior skin, and then slice the pineapple widthwise into 5 equal portions. Don't cut away the core, that's the good stuff!
3. After you ovulate, eat one portion a day on an empty stomach for 5 days to help aid implantation. Most people recommend 1-5DPO, but if it takes you a couple days to confirm that you ovulated, you could do 2-6DPO or 3-7DPO. Try not to go much further than that, because if you've already implanted and you eat that much pineapple, it can cause cramps.

Also, it's good to know to avoid eating too much pineapple during the other times in your cycle. Eating too much pineapple pre-ovulation can make your CM too acidic as well, which is bad for fertilization.

If you don't like pineapple, or are in a situation where this would be too hard to do, you can also find a Bromelain supplement at the store (Bromelain is the enzyme that does all the good stuff) and take that instead. I think I am going to get supplement instead because I'm going to be traveling around ovulation time and I'm not sure how to store an entire pineapple on the road!

Very interesting! I'm going to look into the bromelain. Not a huge fan of pineapple haha. I'm not really noticing a good CM trying to increase my water and hoping the pregnitude helps. I'm also drinking red raspberry leaf tea. I read good things about that and your uterus. I had the worst cramps this af and the tea helped!

I was not noticing good EWCM until I dramatically increased my water intake. I usually drink 80-120 oz a day, and I have cut out almost all other beverages. I have maybe one soda per week, and if I want something that's not water I try to get gatorade or something with electrolytes. I heard that green tea also helps with EWCM, but since I cut out caffeine as soon as we started TTC, I'm not drinking that.

But now I notice EWCM for about 2 days before O, and then on the day of O as well.

Thanks mrs.mchenry! Trying to increase my water intake! Drinking red raspberry leaf tea too. Caffeine free and suppose to help the uterus?

I will have to try the red raspberry leaf tea; I haven't tried that yet.

I am doing alright. My temps are a lot higher than usual this cycle, so I'm wondering if that's going to make it harder for me to confirm O. I also started checking my cervical position this cycle, so I'm learning a lot about how that is supposed to work. Also, my acupuncturist had me increase my CoQ10 dose, so we'll see if that does anything.

I'm due to O over the weekend, so we'll be BDing as much as possible for the next week. I bought the Bromelain tablets to take after O, so I'm going to be doing that, as well.

I was supposed to have my annual OB visit this week, I think I had mentioned that earlier, but they called me today and had to reschedule my to the 20th! I am pretty bummed out because I was looking forward to starting testing, but I guess it's only 2 more weeks. And AF is due that day, so I guess if she hasn't arrived yet I can have them do a pregnancy test there.

How are you doing? When is your expected O?

Hey McHenry! Looks like you got your big O! Woo. I think I ovulated today. I am having terrible cramping and my stomach is upset today so I'm hoping our BDing yesterday was enough. Not sure if I'll feel well enough to do some tonight. :( but we did BD late sat night, technically Sunday at 1am then again Sunday at 11pm. So really hoping that was enough.

When's you appointment again??

Yes! FF thinks I O'ed on Friday the 6th, but my ovulation cramps weren't until Saturday the 7th, so it's possible I could've O'ed that day too. I took my Bromelain supplements for 5 days after O, so hopefully it does the trick!

My doctors appt was supposed to be on the 5th, but they called me and had to reschedule me for the 20th! That really bummed me out. I'm due for AF on the 19th or 20th, so if she hasn't showed up yet I could probably have them do a pregnancy test for me, lol. Hopefully they don't make me reschedule again if AF arrives.

It does look like your temps are going up, FX you caught the egg! How is the TTW going for you so far?

Hey Mchenry, how are you doing? Sucks your appointment got rescheduled for the 20!

I found an awesome doctor and going for blood work this AF, then after I get my results might take clomid this cycle or next.

I don't think I ovulated when FF says. I barely have a temp rise! They found a dermoid cyst on my left ovary so I think that's messing up things.

Get McHenry, have you tested yet? Your charts looking good! Not as dippy! Don't know is that means anything haha but I think it looks good. I have very low hope for this month because of the cyst. I'll probably test tomorrow am just to see the. If it's negative I'm going to wait until period comes.

Hi Andi! Unfortunately, I didn't even get to test this month. I kind of just knew it wasn't my month the whole time. AF showed up yesterday after a couple days of spotting.

I started taking Vitex to see if that helps with the spotting. I heard it's supposed to help regulate your hormones.

I had my annual OB checkup this morning, and my nurse practitioner was so amazing when I told her we had been trying for 11 months with no BFP. She immediately wrote an order for an SA for my DH, and when I mentioned some discomfort I had been having in my lower abdomen, she immediately wrote me an order to go get an ultrasound to look for cysts and abnormalities.

If all that comes back normal, she said they'll schedule an HSG with the doctor to check and see if my tubes are blocked. If that is also normal, then I'm going to get referred to an infertility specialist.

I am very happy that we are going to start getting answers, but very nervous to hear the results. My ultrasound is next week, and DH has to hold his swimmers for 2-4 days before doing is sample, so I think the plan is to take his sample in on Monday. I have no idea how long it takes to get any of the results back, though, so I will be on the edge of my seat during the Thanksgiving holiday!

Your chart looks great this month! It just keeps going up! Have you tested? I'm glad you found a doctor you like, hopefully you don't need the clomid at all! Although I did read that dermoid cysts can affect your cycle, I'll keep my fingers crossed that this isn't the case for you. Keep me updated! I put the setting on to email me when you respond, so I don't miss your responses anymore.
