Any conceive while having BV?

Postby Waiting2bmommy625 » Fri Dec 16, 2016 1:19 pm

Hi, I'm new to ttc, well at least planning for it. Ever since I met my Husband I have gotten bv. I started treating it less and less because it was getting redundant. About a year ago we decided that we were no longer trying to prevent pregnancy. We weren't try officially but we had no luck since. I've been pregnant before (too young to have baby) and he has 2 girls already. My question is has anyone ever conceived while having bv already? Or after treating a long bout of bv? I going to get treated and take some probiotics before next cycle but I'm worried I'd be waisting my time :(. Please help if you have any info or advice.

It's bacterial vaginosis. I wish I had some answers for you, Waiting. Have you spoken to your doctor yet? If it has been a year that you have not been using birth control, it might a be a good idea to go get things checked out and see if they have any advice for you moving forward.

Thank you, I have spoken to a few back when I was being treated and not ttc, at the time they didn't have much more info than I already knew. Im waiting for my healthcare benefits won't be available for another 2 months from my new job so I am currently just seeing the clinic doctors at the time. I'm praying that after antibiotics and probiotics, less sugar and more water I will be able to conceive next cycle.

Def try switching soaps. I couldn't understand why I kept getting it. I would take antibiotics and it would come back. So I switched to an off brand version of summers eve wash that is ph balanced and I haven't had any issues since.

I don't use soap down there. My last doctor is convinced that my spouse triggers it. I just probably can't get with his PH. I'm going to try clearing it up, cutting out sugar and taking probiotics. Hopefully this works :)

I have gotten several BV infections since being married as well, I wondered if I was getting it from DH also. An OBGYN I saw recently told me that can happen & some dr's will treat both of you if you keep getting recurrent infections. AFM, i started noticing after my 2nd son that scented sanitary pads irritate my skin so I tried finding non-scented ones. I don't know if BV prevents pregnancy or not, I have 2 boys but I don't think I had any infections present when I got pregnant with them. Hope you find something that helps, it stinks having infections like that repeatedly.
