Should I not stand up after BD ? ?

Postby mummyoftwo » Tue Mar 20, 2007 4:56 am

I would like to know whether it is really helping to stay in bed (stay still depends on where you BD  )

I do stay in bed after but not straight away...

tmi warning!!! I must p** after BD otherwise I catch UTI as it has happened to me many times.... after that I stay in bed for an hour or so....but not immediately...

I am wondering whether there is anyone who got a BFP with going to the loo right after BD???
Or anyone interesetd in this topic who could answer me??????

I am a bit worried this is why it is taking long to conceive as I dont stay still right after BD.....

Any input would be much appreciated, thanks

Hi mummyofone - I wanted to let you know that I too get frequent UTI's if I don't go to the restroom after each BD session. But....unfortunately, during the time that I did get up right after, I did not get pregnant. That of course, DOES NOT mean that you only get pregnant if you lay down afterwards. I'm sure there are many women who got pregnant without it. However, I did find it necessary to stay in bed afterwards to achieve pregnancy.

I know this is TMI - but maybe it'll help. I did find it helpful to keep something by the bed just to "clean up" the exterior areas with. I didn't get out of bed to go potty, just kind of cleaned the outer areas and stayed in the bed for at least 20 minutes afterwards before going to the restroom.

Ok, that was embarassing  (this is when I wish I could post anonymously!!!) But, we do what we have to in order to get pregnant. If you think getting out of bed might be preventing (or just not helping in general) then maybe try what I did. I know it's gross and a mood killer afterwards, but like I said...we do what we have to :)

His "guys" are shot up, up and away from the vaginal opening and into or very close to the opening of the cervix. I wouldn't worry about standing up or walking around after sex if you absolutely HAVE to...whatever "leaks" out is probably just extra stuff anyway that would have never made it to the egg anyway.

I usually stay in bed for about 10-20 minutes because I am prone to UTI so I need to watch this.
