Atkins & TTC?

Postby unaffected » Sat Oct 23, 2010 12:08 pm

So I was thinking that if I didn't get pregnant this cycle, I would do the Atkins diet for a while. I would only do the "induction" phase for 2 weeks, and probably start on CD1. I would keep up with a low-carbth/healthy eating plan after that initial two-week period.

Does anyone see an issue with this and TTC? I really need to kick-start my weight loss and have no motivation!!

I actually read a little bit about this whole subject a while back. I think as long as you stay out of "ketosis" or whatever you call it in the tww you will be fine. Good luck! The atkins is sooooo hard for me cause I am addicted to potatoes! :D

I think as long as you're only doing it for 2 weeks to kickstart a healthier diet plan then it's ok. Hey, we gotta do what works for us right! lol

Thanks ladies!

Maddy, I was hoping to plan it so that I start on CD1, and just do the induction for 2 weeks. That way, I wouldn't risk being in Ketosis during the TWW.

It's going to be super hard for me too, b/c I love bread!! But, I also love eggs, so I'm hoping I can do it...!
