Worried that my progress isn't safe...

Postby hopingwaiting » Sun Feb 13, 2011 12:48 am

Although I am an ex-anorexic, I am not losing weight in a bad way. To lose weight I have been on a diet (monitoring my carb intake, fat intake and protein intake) and doing around the house exercise (25 minutes of stair laps, walking my dog, squats, etc). Well I have lost 7lbs in 10 days. I mean I am really happy with the results, but I am worried that losing that much weight that quick is dangerous. I have no idea why I am losing weight so quick. The only thing I could think of is that we stopped actively ttc (we are ntnp) so I stopped clomid (which made me put on a bunch of weight) and I stopped being so stressed and depressed. Dh has monitored me just because he is always making sure I don't relapse, and he is stumped on how I lost so much weight too. What are your opinions? Please only respectful responses.

Sorry that your history makes weightloss so stressful! As if it isn't stressful enough allready!

7 lbs in 10 days does seem to quick allthough alot of it could be water weight. Clomid makes you bloat and if you're off of it and drinking alot of water to flush your system that could make a fast change. Also maybe consider upping your total daily calories by a bit?

Or throw in one extra snack of carrots/fruit a day?

Yeah I agree with the PP. Weight comes off pretty fast at the beginning (especially water weight) because there's more to lose. As you have less to lose, it seems to take longer. If you continue to lose 7 lbs every week for several weeks though, then I would say your food intake should be increased slightly. Good luck!

Limiting your carb intake I completely agree with, but why are you limiting fats and protein?
Saturated fats are actually good for us and contrary to popular belief are not what makes us fat.

I highly recommend reading up on the Primal or Paleo diets.

This is a great website with loads of information about the Primal lifestyle.
There are a ton of success stories posted as well which are really inspiring.

Plus there seems to be a lot of TTC success from women who have gone to a more Paleo/Primal eating diet.

Anywho, Good luck with your weight loss and TTC :D
